Hey if any of you are like me, looking for someone special to spend the rest of their lives with.
Here is what I personally think about finding that special someone.
1. Find some one of the same faith.
When I say someone of the same faith I'm not dogmatic on the exact same denomination.
But you should share compatible beliefs, So if some one who follows traditional ana baptist doctrines,
regardless of denomination, should be compatible since they share the same beliefs. The more you agree
the less there is to fight and argue over, you should be in accord on all your important issues and beliefs.
2. Don't be afraid to comprimise,
So when you find out you are compatible on important issues, In one accord in doctrine,
then don't make a big deal over little things, like wall paper and carpet, A reasonable comprimise
should make both people happy.
3. The purpose of dating is to find out if the person your with is the one you want to spend the rest of
your life with. See marrage works like a contract negotiation. Dating is the agreement to enter into a contract negotiation. You get to know each others wants and needs and then write the contract based on what you want.
Then if you conclude the agreement works for both parties, then you enter the engagement. It's getting to add all the details of the agreement, and proofreading to make it legally binding. It's the time to either seal the deal or walk away.
If the engagement goes well, then It's time for the marrage. When you marry someone you are agreeing to spend the rest of your life with them, It is the signing of the contract. Under the authority of God, it is an eternal covenant.
4. Important issues to agree on, Here is where it gets complicated, see your beliefs should be established on your personal convictions. including religion, politics, and doctrine. The religion will establish what your convictions are, and
be a moral compass in helping you find the right one for you. The politics, play a roll, in how you decide governing in the home, and at the election polls. The doctrine, is How you establish the Will of God in your home, the head of the home, whose responcible for what duties. raising children etc. Love is the foundation of the relationship, if the foundations are out of alignment, or one is weaker than the other, there is a risk of structural damage, or a total collapse. thats why you need a solid foundation for any and all relationships.
5. Unimportant issues to agree on. Things like carpet colours, rugs, etc, are minor things, is a rug really even a necessity? these are things that give you an oppertunity to see how you communicate, find out how you think and even do team work building skills.
6. Resolving issues, Finding someone you share common intrests in is a great way to keep a relationship healthy and strong. How ever there are times when you may find you cant resolve issues, before doing something dumb like fighting, blow the whiste and flag the play, take time to think about the situation and ask these quesitons.
1. Is this really an issue worth fighting over?
2. Does it matter who is right or wrong?
3. Will my descision be more beneficial or harmful?
4. Is it a matter of principal?
5. Can a reasonable comprimise be made?
If its something like doing some thing you both enjoy and one of you don't want too, then perhaps think about scheduling it another day. If it's going out and trying something you've never done before, it might be worth considering,
If someone wants to go out and you know you don't enjoy it, then perhaps consider letting them go with friends, while you go do something else with your friends.
See conflict resolution works when you look at it from the other persons perspective and works best looking at it from Gods Perspective. because your looking at the issue from both sides.
7. Best way to choose someone special.
Look at them the way God does, see God is going to judge us based on every word, thought and deed,
that is because when you judge every word thought and deed, you get to know a persons heart, If you
know a persons heart, you get to know the person.
