Thanks Ariel82 i needed to hear this...I have been walking with the Lord nearly 2 years and i must admit i have been trying to run before i can walk, getting myself in a state thinking i don`t know enough although when i look back i see how much Jesus has taught me, and is always teaching me...I am still drinking milk but i am also starting to chew a little, your post has given me comfort because i know you are speaking from Gods Wisdom :)...xox...
Yeah view myself as a kid learning still to discern the difference between sheep and wolves, but I trust God to protect me from both. Some days the sheep with scrapie are scarier than the wolves,

If you try to obey the law you will always be a babe in Christ.

The meat is living in the House of Grace as a new creation in Jesus.

I have made it a habit to read my Bible from Genesis to Revelation at least once a year for the last 17 years, but each time God reveals me new wisdom that I missed before. Its really interesting to compare the different translations. One day I hope to learn enough Greek and Hebrew and read them in those languages.

For now I trust God to light my path, study what I can, stand on the truths God has taught me.

1. God really does love me as His beloved child
2. He will never abandon me
3. He has a purpose for my life and good works for me to do.
4. I am wonderfully made
5. Jesus won the war upon the cross
6. God clothes all His Kids with spiritual armor
7. The Holy spirit will teach us what we need . he will chastens us when we sin. He will help us overcome not only sin but this world.
8. Pray and forgive every day
9.The bible and the Holy spirit will help you discern truth and lies.
10. It's better to be humble before God. Than have praise and acclaim before men.

There are more but those are basic baby food concepts I have learnt so far.

The meat is living in the House of Grace as a new creation in Jesus.

First of all meat isn't "living in the house of grace". It is discerning good from evil and determining good doctrine from false doctrine.

Ephesians 4:13-15
until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,

Colossians 2:6-7
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

Romans 15:14
And concerning you, my brethren, I myself also am convinced that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able also to admonish one another.

1 Corinthians 2:6
Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away;

1 Corinthians 14:20
Brethren, do not be children in your thinking; yet in evil be infants, but in your thinking be mature.

1 Corinthians 3:1-3
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

Secondly...the difference between a slave, a servant and a their is motive.

The slave follows the law because they will be punished if they don't.

A servant follows the law because they expect a reward or payment.

A Heir/child obeys the law because he/she loves their father and knows the wisdom of WHY the Father gave the command.

When you speak....I hear blah blah blah.........your religion has tainted your view so...go work your way to heaven and stand in that plenteous in number at the last day.....faith alone saves, the Holy Spirit indwells all believers and can be grieved by sin or disobedience.....

Now....run with it and say I am pushing a sinful lifestyle and do as you please doctrine FRAN.....
It sounds like you might be hearing blah, blah, blah but it also appears you understand
what is being said. So I wonder at the purpose of such a statement. It obviously is not
true, but why lie about something and then show you understand the words, maybe with
a different interpretation.

I can only assume this is said to show animosity and just to be rude. But then again
if it is meaningless, why even post. Such conflicting ideas just gives an impression of
someone intent on upsetting someone, and failing. I reminds me of the groups of kids
shouting out whatever comes to their minds to wind people up.

Must be a version of the bible I have never read. You are to annoy and be antagonistic
of others, because you will prove the kind of heart you are displaying.

So my friend, God bless you, I pray the His love and peace brings real resolution to the
anger and annoyance you are showing. If we put this at the foot of the cross, there we
can find resolution and His love to share with others. Amen

Dcon, You know what my daughter told me was a pet peeve of hers???

People telling her not to do things and doing it themselves.

My son told her that was hypocrisy and we got into a discussion about it.

Anyway, hopefully God will convict anyone who is guilty of that sin.

He sure did give many teachings, like the beatitudes, to show how completely unable were are to reach them.

Thereby pointing to Himself as the fulfillment.

We live in His perfection not our own feeble attempts to be like Him.
I find it interesting thinking the beatitudes are just to demonstrate how impossible it
is to walk like Jesus.

I would suggest this is what it means to be immature in Christ and what maturity actually
looks like.

And yes without the work of grace in our hearts, it is impossible to understand how our
hearts can flow to comfort those who mourn, to be meek, to be pure in heart, to hunger
and thirst for righteousness, to be a peacemaker, to walk like Jesus.

But this is the mystery of the walk of love and fellowship with our King as he changes
us through obedience and love.

Ofcourse for those who have never been truly transformed within this is all a pipe dream,
but the power of the cross is beyond our imagination, yet is the power of God to bring
us to heaven, perfect, pure and holy. Amen.

Jesus was speaking to religious hypocrites still in sin, who thought that by following ceremonial ordinances of Moses (religious works) somehow made them righteous before God...Paul told the multitudes to sometimes listen to what they say, but not to do what they do...
No he was speaking TO HIS DISCIPLES...

◄ Matthew 6 ►
New American Standard Bible

1“Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.
2“So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 3“But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
You "liked" willybob's false interpretation of scriptures Franc.

Check yourself.

Is the passage to believers or hypocrites?

I said specifically to His disciples who to me are also believers..,I DID NOT say "just apostles" as you try and claim.

But you show partiality by your posts because you don't rebuke or correct Willybob false interpretation of scriptures.

Which makes one wonder if it's worth the time to read and respond to you at all.

AMEN to that opinion of fact :)
What opinion of fact would that be?

Would you care to explain to me the tense you're speaking of and which verses are erroneously translated so that they do not lead to what the bible says.

Could YOU please show me where, in the bible, it says that we are to do NOTHING, NO WORKS, JUST believe.

While you're at it, please explain what BELIEVE means biblically.

Thanks.

It scares me to think that you teach children.

WHAT do you teach them?
To love Jesus?
Nice.
Then what?

Then nothing.... that's enough?

Or do you think CHILDREN understand all the really odd ideas I read here?

Children to NOT understand concepts... they understand only facts.

THE FACT IS HAT WE ARE REQUIRED TO OBEY.

If YOU dont think so, that's YOU'RE prerogative ...

one that will lead you away from God who DEMANDS obedience.

For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
1 cor 10:1-5

It is an interesting warning by Paul, that even though we drink from Christ, we
can still fail and be cast out.

Obedience

This sounds like a hard task except we are being called to love people and not
take revenge, to humble ourselves and walk in grace.

Rebellion against this is truly doing evil things. So to count this as wrong or
evil to share is so very odd.

Easy question:

DO THEY ALL FOLLOW THE LAW OR NOT?

Let's get down to the bottom line...

i'll take this one-

following the Law saves no one.

you , me , and no one else can keep the Law to the perfection it requires to earn salvation. we are saved by grace alone.

now, that is settled. go ahead with your next points so I can set you straight on them also.

Hi PJ,

I hope all is well with you.

I think possibly the problem with obedience is how people interpret obedience.
Obedience to what? The law, not sinning.

If we take our eyes of Jesus then the focus is wrong, it becomes more about us and less about Jesus so in our own strength we try to be obedient to whatever we believe obedience to be.

Obedience is a hard task, by nature we are self focused.

However if we focus on Jesus he increases and we decrease.

I like what you say about being called to love people.

That is what Jesus has asked us to do, whether it be our brother or our enemy.

By this the world will know that you are my disciples.

I find it intersting how people think what will happen on judgement day.

To me this is an outworking of love in us, and it seems to be what Jesus will judge us on.

Matthew 25:35-40
for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

Steeple song (Don Francisco)

I don't care how many buses you own
Or the size of your sanctuary
Doesn't matter how steep
Your steeple is, if it's sittin' on a cemetery

I don't care if you pave your parking lot
Or put pads upon your pews
What good is a picture perfect stage
If you're missin' all the cues

I don't care if your pastor is super powered
And your program's always new
What you need is love and truth
And men are gonna come to you

It doesn't matter if you know the Bible
If it's all just in your head
But the thing I need to ask you
Is have you done the things I said?

Do you love your wife?
For her and for and for your children
Are you layin' down your life?
What about the others?

Are you livin' as a servant
To your sisters and your brothers?
Do you make the poor man beg you for a bone?
Do the widow and the orphan cry alone?

I don't care if you pray for miracles
I don't care if you speak with tongues
I don't care if you've said you love Me
In every song you've sung

It doesn't matter if your sacrifice of praise
Is loud enough to raise the dead
The thing I need to ask you
Is have you done the things I said?

Do you love your wife?
With all you've got inside you
Are you layin' down your life?
What about the others?

Are you livin' as a servant
To your sisters and your brothers?
Do you make the poor man beg you for a bone?
Do the widow and the orphan cry alone?

Lord, when were you a prisoner
But we did not come to you
When was it that we saw you sick
That we didn't follow through

Every time you turned your head
And pretended not to see
When you did it not to the least of these
You did it not to Me

Obedience whilst hard is easier when we focus on the one who has asked us to be obedient.
He is also the one who picks us up when we are not.
