Matthew 7v24-27
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

[SUP]25 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

[SUP]26 [/SUP]And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

[SUP]27 [/SUP]And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Don't you think we should know every one of these commandments? What would you tell someone after posting a scripture saying that they need to do the commandments?

Don't you think it's important to know every one because if you don't "do" one - in some people's religion God sends His beloved children to hell.

[h=1] James 1:22-25New King James Version (NKJV)
[/h] [SUP]22 [/SUP]But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. [SUP]23 [/SUP]For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; [SUP]24 [/SUP]for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. [SUP]25 [/SUP]But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Anyone can take random scriptures without looking at the context of them and without the finished work of Christ for us.

Here, I'll show you.

Here it says that all people will be blotted out of God's book - because who has not sinned?

Exodus 32:33 (NASB)
[SUP]33 [/SUP] The LORD said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.

Here it says that God will never forgive people.

Deuteronomy 29:20 (NASB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] "The LORD shall never be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the LORD and His jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse which is written in this book will rest on him, and the LORD will blot out his name from under heaven.

I could go on and on posting all kinds of scripture without taking the context and the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ into consideration.

All context starts and ends with the revelation of the risen Christ Himself. All scripture must be filtered through the finished work of Christ in order to get the context needed when reading all scripture and this means the Lord's words too.

Jesus told the rich young ruler to keep the commandments to have eternal life when he asked Jesus "What must "I do" to be saved." - but is that how we are saved today? No, Jesus used the Law to expose the ruler's need for a Savior because he loved money and had actually broken the 1st commandment.

Is this what we tell people today if they ask how do we get saved? No...We says Acts 16:30-31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

Here you are taking Rom. chapter 2 out of it's context to try make it say something else. Paul was talking about the Jews are all guilty before God as the Gentiles were and the Law exposes this to them.

Here is what Paul "really" said about being justified.

Acts 13:39 (KJV)
[SUP]39 [/SUP] And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Romans 3:28 (KJV)
[SUP]28 [/SUP] Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Romans 3:24 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 5:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Galatians 3:11 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 5:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

Titus 3:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

This one is really going to hurt the workers for salvation and justification.

Galatians 2:16 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Was this post addressed to someone? Did you think the large font would help them listen to you more, or give you more credibility?

Here I will match your font, does that help?

News flash, No one here preaches it is ok to be a hearer and and not a doer. so you just yelled at NO ONE.

Maybe you can study more, and learn what people are saying, and you will not come off so proud, yet unknowing..

There we go. Settles the whole thread. Next.
lol.. Sadly, you do not understand what the thread is about, or you would not be so sure of yourself, when you are so far off it is into left field and further.

Everyone here would believe and practice all those verses that you posted. And we would all agree with them.

so your posts did nothing

Yes they are

JAMES never said we are saved by works, He said if we CLAIM to have faith, but have no works, our faith is dead.

can a person with dead faith be saved?

NO!!

Why?

Because a dead faith is no faith at all. It is WHY they have no work.

But you want to twist it to support your works based theology,

Good lick with that, as for me, I will stick with the cross.. and Christ crucified.

I know one thing - if "doing the commandments" means where we spend eternity - then knowing every one of those commandments would be a "handy dandy" piece of information to have.

Those that believe we lose salvation and that our loving Father throws His beloved children into hell always love to post scriptures like Rev. 19:7 to "threaten" people that don't hold to their doctrines but they will not tell us "exactly what every one" of those commandments are.

In truth we know what they are - John tells us exactly what they are "in the New Covenant".

1 John 3:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

yet you still can not keep those two commands as God requires. which is perfectly. Nor can I, Nor can anyoone else, anyone who thinks they can as John says, "fools them self and their is no truth in them".

If you know this Peterjens, why do you constantly create illusions?
Case in point..why redefine the word psychopath?
A psychopath is more than what you define and that you can relate to the term is somewhat distrubing.
The point I want to make is about the effects of a lack of empathy. This break of empathy
by some is linked to a failure in the brain where empathy should work but is missing.

1. Glibness and superficial charm
– smooth-talking, engaging and slick.
2. Grandiose self-worth
– greatly inflated idea of one’s abilities and self-esteem, arrogance and a sense of superiority.
3. Pathological lying
– shrewd, crafty, sly and clever when moderate; deceptive, deceitful, underhanded and unscrupulous when high.
4. Cunning/manipulative
– uses deceit and deception to cheat others for personal gain.
5. Lack of remorse or guilt
- no feelings or concern for losses, pain and suffering of others, coldhearted and unempathic.
6. Shallow affect / emotional poverty
– limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness.
7. Callous/lack of empathy
– a lack of feelings toward others; cold, contemptuous and inconsiderate.
8. Fails to accept responsibility for own actions
– denial of responsibility and an attempt to manipulate others through this.
9. Needs stimulation/prone to boredom
– an excessive need for new, exciting stimulation and risk-taking.
10. Parasitic lifestyle
– Intentional, manipulative, selfish and exploitative financial dependence on others.
11. Poor behavioral controls
– expressions of negative feelings, verbal abuse and inappropriate expressions of anger.
12. No realistic long-term goals
– inability or constant failure to develop and accomplish long-term plans.
13. Impulsiveness
– behaviors lacking reflection or planning and done without considering consequences.
14. Irresponsible
– repeated failure to fulfill or honor commitments and obligations.
15. Promiscuity
– brief, superficial relations, numerous affairs and an indiscriminate choice of sexual partners.
16. Criminal versatility
– diversity of criminal offenses, whether or not the individual has been arrested or convicted.

Now the above is a list of traits.
Interestingly this is almost the extreme opposite of what it means to walk in the Spirit.

If one looked at this as the down side then the upside is when you actually do these things
in a positive way.
1. Have real charm and appreciate people for what they are.
2. Understand your worth, and do not over play it.
3. Always tell the truth as best you can.
4. Always lookout for the benefit of others and help them
5. Feel hurt with people who hurt, and joy for people who have joy
6. Show the full range of emotions and be involved with people
7. Empathise and think about the problems they are going through
8. Accept ones responsibility and work to deliver a good result
9. Persevere and find encouragement in the achievements as they happen
10. Earn money for the benefit of all
11. Share encouraging things and praise uplifting achievements
12. Set long term goals that can be achieved and work towards them
13. Consider you impulses and where they might lead
14. Behave responsibly
15. Be faithful to your marriage partner
16. Obey the law and seek to do good

Now it is amazing how these simple principles show how open our hearts are to the
Lord and how wrapped up we are in ourselves.

Now my friends, brothers and sisters, I hope and pray we all desire to walk closer to
Jesus and in His ways.

I do wonder when people suggest there is something wrong with identifying issues that
are in the world and how we are followers of Christ work to shine the light and walk
differently.
