Maybe the Jehovah Witness needs to shake the dust off his feet...I mean after all they both teach a false Jeus and a works based save yourself godspell..........!
Was reading my Bible in McDonald's a few years ago and talked to a family. They got a little befuddled when I showed them why I disagreed with their doctrines based upon the Bible but we were still civil.

In McDonalds in 1990 I got my first taste of a sinless perfectionist that was working his way to heaven......

Hi PennEd...I just read through Psalm 103, as you know from another post i have made from a new thread a few days ago I have been in confession to my Lord Jesus for my slip, I just want to say Psalm 103 has really brought the healing to my soul, yesterday my heavenly Father brought me to repentance, today i have a new song on my heart, all the glory to God, and it is all through the work that my Lord Jesus has done...Years ago i was a drinker, i drank to get drunk, i enjoyed my sin untill God put the desire in my heart and i gave my life to Jesus...Now i don`t get drunk, i do not enjoy my sin, but sometimes i am still tempted to let go of my Lords hand and walk by myself, but the difference is i have no pleasure, i cry and sob to God because i know i have hurt my Lord, i see how He has brought me from a broken women who used to hang over the toilet bowl being sick, or sleeping wherever my head fell to someone who now does not get in that state, avoids places where temptation is strong, and seeing through my confession and repenting to the Lord how much weaker the temptation has a hold on me, i can now remove myself from drinking to get drunk to getting home and into bed without the toilet part or falling into a heap on the floor...I am a sinner and i always will be, but by the Grace of God through my Lord Jesus Christ i can hold my head up high and proclaim from the roof tops that i am a child of God...I have not worked or added anything to this change in my life other then obeying my Father untill i fall again, it does not make me unsaved...And thank you for posting Psalm 103, it`s truly beautiful and just what i needed...Praise God...xox...
My favourite psalm along with 145

Anyway Psalm 103

Psalms 103
PSALM 103
Praise for the Lord's Mercies
A Psalm of David.
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The Lord executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known His ways to Moses,
His acts to the children of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
He will not always strive with us,
Nor will He keep His anger forever.
He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
Nor punished us according to our iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children's children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them.
The Lord has established His throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.
Bless the Lord, you His angels,
Who excel in strength, who do His word,
Heeding the voice of His word.
Bless the Lord, all you His hosts,
You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.
Bless the Lord, all His works,
In all places of His dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!

Want to expand how one does this on the internet?

Didn't Jesus eat with sinners and converse with Pharisees, tax colletors and scribes?
Apparently not the same ones all the time.

The scriptures say it, so it's so, & Jesus didn't break what He taught.

they don't understand that they have to crucify the flesh in repentance.... even Jesus said to take drastic measures to get the sin out of your life or it will send one to hell.....if the mind eye to the soul is evil, pluck out your eye,,,,, if the actions of you hands are evil, cut them off....of course these are metaphoric examples, but the measure of intensity is not metaphoric.................be blessed

thats it exactly pluck put the eye and cut off the hand teach us how serious and dangerous sin actually is. that part has never changed its been death from the start. thats the main issue with the false grace religion. it nullifies the life found in the gospel, and the power of the Holy spirit to give us the strength to actually walk in the right things, and repent of the evil we all have walked in, in the past.

its really following the false teachers that spread the gog rather than believing and following Jesus Christ. even if one reads and believes that a person needs to follow pauls words only as so many do, it still requires repentance from sin and walking in the things of God instead. it requires us to give our lives to God rather than saying grace and going on living for what we want. many of the ideas that come from the gog sort of lay the blame for what we do, on Gods failure to provide us with the tools and abilities to walk and live the Life.

some would say " its just christ living through me all his work" or things such as that, so then what about when a person lies, cheats, scams, commits adultery or holds grudges? is it then still " christ living in us?" the Bible is a lesson book, meant to Learn, and apply to Life its not a mystical belief its Just the Plain truth from God. Jesus was never unclear about sin nor were His apostles nor the prophets before, nor the Law of moses, Nor was God the Father in the Garden. its our choice to Live, or die. Hes given all He is going to give already in Jesus. through Him we have an offer of eternal Life. gotta learn and believe and actually do the things He teaches us to do, through the spirit in the Word.

First of all, a McRib sammich ain't perfection or sinless....stick to the topic dcon... ;)
HAHAHHA hilarious........Tell you a story....November 1984 was working the closing shift on Thanksgiving day (closed at 2 pm)....at about 1:45 started emptying the grease traps into a 5 gallon bucket and dumped all the ribs and bbq sauce into the buckets...At 5 till 2 a man came through drive thru and he wanted a Mcrib......the manager made me pull one out of the bucket, dip it in sauce and serve it to that guy..............true story.......the moral of the story is.....

Our works to maintain or keep salvation are just like that grease covered nasty Mcrib......if JESUS cannot keep us saved and we have to help him....we are all frying.......!

If you claim to follow Jesus, why do you still have both eyes and hands then? Maybe you really don't truly believe Him.

"Shake the dust off your feet" does not equal "engage in constant online debate with those people"

Could you give me the Bible verses for the second part and what it means to "shake the dust off you feet" in an online forum?

Jesus went back and preached in Decapolis....they had asked him to leave before that.

God holy spirit works in His time. We don't follow legalistic laws of do not talk to that person or avoid these people, but walk where God leads us and talk to whomever God places in our lives to testify of His truth and love.

Yes it is our choice to live or die.

We die to ourselves in order to live for Christ.

"Gotta learn and believe and actually do"

Sorry but you come across as saying in your above post

"Gotta earn"

It is by the grace of God we are saved by faith in Jesus.
Then he works in us to conform us to the image of Christ and yes we have to participate in this.

Maybe you could provide the quotes where anyone has said that if we get it wrong we blame God and it's his fault.
I can't say I have seen any.
If So post it and we can correct them.
I can't say that I have seen anyone say either that Gods grace is excuse to sin all we want.

If you can find such a post then post it and let's correct them.

Amen,
Salvation is the start of our walk with Christ. If I believed that the purpose for the cross was so that I could "get away with sin " I might doubt my own salvation.

You even put your likes on those that mercilessly slam others. I've seen it many times.
The interesting thing is one can get too sensitive about likes.
It might help if one had a like but caveat.

I remember reading one post that made me think, oh they have understood.
Then came a later post which confirmed they had not budged an inch and
whatever it was they saw it was not what I was seeing.

I am always amazed at agreements to "I love Jesus", but the Jesus people see
could an a avatar like a Hindu incarnation of divine peace, or a free ticket to
heaven, or a judgemental hell and brimstone doomer of the lost, or a friend
who will walk with us if we open up our hearts.

Imagine if Jesus came on this thread, what would He say?
Yes I said so much stuff to make people feel bad, because that is my bag,
you are loved no matter what you do, it is a free ride in the circus, lol.

A works based LIE......SIN does not send ONE PERSON to HELL
Odd phrase. So Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

So John is saying, if we sin, and do not confess our sins they are not forgiven and
we are not cleansed. But this sentiment is wrong if sins are all forgiven after the cross.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Col 1:13-14

God has delivered us from darkness, where there is not forgiveness of sins, to
the Kingdom of Christ, where there is forgiveness of sins.

So again, this would be irrelevant if both the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom
of light both had sins forgiven.

And we only have forgiveness of sins, if we walk in the Spirit, ie righteously, else
we are defiling the very promise we are under.

Amen,
Salvation is the start of our walk with Christ. If I believed that the purpose for the cross was so that I could "get away with sin " I might doubt my own salvation.
And that the point. If we feel we can sin all we want and it's covered then there is a problem.
This problem Paul addressed at the end of Romans 5 and beginning of Romans 6.

If a person has been addressed and still continues to walk in that with no regard and conscience then one does have to question.

But I would still say if a person is stuck in sin, hates it but cannot seem to overcome then rather than write them off we need to come alongside and build up trust with them and hopefully that will open up issues that bind them.

Then allow the Holy Spirit to bring healing and instill the love of God for them.
Its easier to trust someone who loves you warts and all but loves you enough to move you forward.

People can be a prisoner to sin and it's Jesus who sets them free and heals them.
Its not sin management. If that were the case let's just send them on a sin management course or to secular counselling that gives coping mechanisms to reduce the problem but no really deal with it.

Must be nice to make a complete doctrine out of one verse alone...

The verses you use here to admonish and declare is all about about sinless perfection and loss of salvation is flat 100% wrong....

You are telling us that Matt 18.8-9 is about crucifying the flesh and controlling sin, right?

You should ask forgiveness of everyone here for such an egregious spirit of error in interpretation of this passage.

Lets look at the whole thought and include all the verses and teach you what it really means, instead of you blathering on about and taking liberty with scripture.

Matt 18.1-6

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” [SUP]2 [/SUP]And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, [SUP]3 [/SUP]and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. [SUP]4 [/SUP]Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; [SUP]6 [/SUP]but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Ok so our first indication of what Jesus is saying here is found in Vs 6- He is not talking about sinners or disciples here, so he is not talking about following him, or crucifying the flesh...He is talking about the consequence of those that tempt baby believers to stumble or SIN

Matt 18.7-9

[SUP]7 [/SUP]“Woe to the world because of its stumbling blocks! For it is inevitable that stumbling blocks come; but woe to that man through whom the stumbling block comes!

[SUP]8 [/SUP]“If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire. [SUP]9 [/SUP]If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it from you. It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be cast into the fiery hell.

These verses show us again he is not talking about sinners or disciples, he is again telling us the consequence of those who lay down stumbling blocks[temptations] to baby believers. He is telling us those that lay down things that tempt baby believers to SIN are in a very bad place and if you are caught tempting baby believers to SIN, it would be better for you to cut, pluck and throw, then go to hell for tempting baby believers to SIN/stumble

This is metaphoric and comparative language, not command language..Jesus used command language when he was telling them something they needed to do like repent , confess or follow.

Matt 18.10-14
[SUP]10 [/SUP]“See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven. [SUP]11 [/SUP][For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.] [SUP]12 [/SUP]“What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? [SUP]13 [/SUP]If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. [SUP]14 [/SUP]So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.

The thought and lesson of Matt 18.1-14 comes to a close with these verses, it is clearly not an admonition for sinners to repent, disciples to follow me and crucify the flesh, or even salvation so what is it?

The rest of chapter 18 deals with discipline, prayer and forgiveness...So what was Matt 18.1-4 all about then...The answer is found in Matt 19.

Jesus once again is tested by the pharisees and he schools them all over again...

Jesus was telling his disciples and us in Matt 18.1-14, that religion and those in the name of religion are damned, since they continually cause a new follower, believer of Jesus to stumble, fall, SIN.

There is no suggestion in Vs 1-14 that this has anything to do with crucifying the flesh or keeping Sin under control.

No what you don't understand is that we do crucify the flesh but you know what?

Jesus ain't on the cross no more.

You can focus on death, but some folks focus on the life God gives AFTER CHRIST ressurection..

We learn to eat meat to learn discernment. Then let the bad/evil die and the good continue to grow and live in our lives.

***again half the truth is more dangerous than a flat out lie.****
Ariel,

Gal 5.24 says-[SUP]24 [/SUP]Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires

What does this mean to you?
