I don't need to know anything about a Jewish wedding to understand the marriage of the lamb and the church.... Where the heck do you get that from any way? I've never seen anything in the bible about Jewish weddings.

Forget the heresies you've been taught lol and BELIEVE your bible ONLY. We are RIGHT NOW bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. We ARE the ONE BODY of Christ, we have been JOINED TOGETHER. That only happens one way, through MARRIAGE - the twain (Christ and the church) shall become one flesh - the BODY of Christ.

Ephesians 5:30 KJV
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Well, there is one Jewish wedding found in the Bible where Jesus turned water into wine. Perhaps VCO was at that wedding and really enjoyed the wine. I bet it was 98+ points in the Spectator.

From Messianic Jewish Christians, who kno the Tradition and Customs of ISRAEL like the back of thier hand.

JESUS and His Disciples were JEWS, who were teaching JEWS before they moved out to the Gentile World.

I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU, comes right out of a Jewish Wedding Proposal.

The Parable of Ten Virgins is all about a Jewish Wedding.

ETC., ETC. ETC.

You reject the bible for Jewish fairy tales VCO. I can only lead you to the truth, I can't make you accept it. I put it to you in black and white and you reject it... that's on you.

If you guys are waiting around for the marriage, then your lamp is out of oil. Go to the Lord and ask for oil before you end up like the 5 foolish virgins when Jesus came the first time.... when they were shut out, it seems as though they were shut out permenately. Hurry before it's too late!
You really should study this stuff before posting it. According to the scripture, the oil represents watchful readiness, which is exactly the opposite of what you said. Also, we are not waiting for the marriage, but for the bridegroom to come for his bride. The five foolish virgins are the ones who have no oil, meaning that they are not watching or ready for the bridegrooms appearing.

Jesus came the first time as a human being, kinning himself with us in the flesh so that he could be our kinsmen redeemer. The next time He appears will be in fulfillment of John 14:1-3 where He told his disciples that He was going to the Father's house to prepare places for all believers and that He would come back and receive us to himself so that where He is, we may be also.

After the church has been gathered that ruler will establish his seven year agreement, initiating that last seven years of the decree, followed by the rest of the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments.

It is those who are not watching nor looking for the blessed hope, the Lord's appearing to gather his bride, that are without oil.

As I said, you should really study this stuff before you post. The Bridegroom coming for His bride, the church, is modeled after the process of the Jewish wedding.

In regards to your reference to "Jewish fairy tales" I would remind you that our Lord in His humanity was Jewish.

And the oil represents watchfulness because???? You said so lol. Think about it, "thy word is a LAMP unto my feet". Has it ever occured to you that the lamps MIGHT represent what the bible says it represents?

Are the details of the Jewish wedding layed out in the law or the prophets? Where does this wedding tradition come from?

Also do you believe that the church, right now, is married to the Lamb, right now?

===================================

At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’

“Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’

“ ‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’

“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
“But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Oil = Watchfulness/Readiness

You are not watching, because you have adopted the false teaching that Christ has already come and end-time events have been fulfilled at the destruction of the temple.

The Lord/Bridegroom is coming to gather His Church/bride, prior to His wrath being poured out, with the Lord returning to the earth to end the age at the end of that wrath. Because you believe that the Lord has already come and are not looking for His appearing to gather us according to His word, then you are those without oil, unready, not watching.

In the context above, not having any oil = not being ready, not watching. Therefore, what I have presented is according to scripture.

Oil = lamp lit - light to see where you're going. No oil = lamp out - NO LIGHT to see where you're going.
Those without light can't see the path to get to the wedding.

A person is in the woods in the dark with a flash light and the batteries die. Do the batteries represent not being prepare or do the batteries represent the source that causes the flash light to produce light?

Is this verse future in the dispensational view?

Revelation 18:23 KJV
And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

Also are these verses future also?

Jeremiah 7:33-34 KJV
And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
[34] Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

Jeremiah 8:1-2 KJV
At that time, saith the Lord , they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:
[2] And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.

One more lol.

Jeremiah 25:10-11 KJV
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
[11] And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

Daniel 9:2 KJV
In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

If Daniel interpreted Jeremiah 25 as happening during the Babylonian captivity, why do you guys interpret this as future?
