Sincerity
Sincerely believing I'm amazing and incredible when I feel at my worst
Doesn't make me feel like he's trying to get something from me
He's a rock of stability
Mature when necessary but not too stuffy or serious

Since those take a long time to discover and prove, I suggest breaking the ice with Ice cream, tasteful humor, and throwing out every single one of your interests so that we can find out what we have in common.
I whole heartedly agree with Cinder....

just sayin.

Amen! Also when men say to call or text when you get home so that they make sure you get home makes me feel safe and protected even when we are apart
Now I'll do that thing that makes interacting with women so frustrating, because while protective can be nice... a pattern of being so protective that I feel like you're questioning my competence or like you won't let me do things for myself can get annoying fast.

Then all the guys wonder how to determine where that sweet spot of being protective enough but not too protective is and the ladies get upset that the guys don't just know it.

The real way to a woman's heart, be able to read her mind and then fulfill all her unspoken wishes.

The man must allow the lady (aka, me), to clean his place and do his laundry is the fastest way to my heart ;)
Clearly, all women are different.

I cannot imagine how it would be a way into my heart for someone else to want me to clean their toilet and fold their laundry.

I find confident leadership to be amazingly attractive, provided the guy isn't arrogant. But some women today find that repulsive.

In all seriousness, Ugly is right. Everyone is different. However, I think I have stumbled onto a universal truth about women, and if men would pay attention, they'd have the lady of their dreams' hearts forever.

SECURITY

I don't mean financial, I mean emotional security. If you make her feel like she's the only one and there are no side chicks, you're not with her just until something better comes along, if she is the only woman in existence to you- then her heart is yours.

There's a reason why so many women loved the movie Titanic, and it's not because Leonardo di Caprio was so fine- or The Notebook, (although Ryan Gosling was so fine). Do you know why? Because Jack died for Rose and because Noah was completely devoted to Allie.

SECURITY- ALL women want it, feeling that her heart is safe with you.

My theory, only- but I think I am right.

Now, some women like a good cook, some could not care less, some like sensitive, some like macho, some like good listeners, some like good talkers. But by God, ALL women want to feel safe.
^ I agree! It's more of a need for me.

There is one problem with your post....that is your opinion and you don't know the relationship of my bf and I let alone every single relationship out there. Yet you state your post as being fact. I do appreciate your thought on this tho, but it's not like I have to check in with him every single day and for everything I do. I have had serious health concerns that have put me in the hospital three times in the last six months and was in a car accident on top of this, so I feel he is fully justified in ensuring I make it home okay. Now, some women won't be like this and thats okay, but I am clearly different than most of them out there

But my post was a general post, only related to your theme of protectiveness and not in any way meant to be a comment on how you conduct your relationship. If you're happy with the level of your guy's protectiveness then that's not a problem. I was mainly pointing out the frustration men must feel when a woman says she wants a guy who's X and then being X to the max doesn't work because the woman they're interested in says they're too X.

I understand what you are saying, but it's genuinely sad that society has told women for years not to rely on men and we can do anything we want, which is counterintuitive to what roles God created us for. The whole feminism thing drives me nuts. Granted, it is healthy for us to accomplish things on our own and work, but it's just as or more important to know the purpose of why men are brought into our lives. I personally believe the men who refuse to take on this role have not had the guidance from a Godly man who taught them biblical roles or are just flat out lazy and do not understand the importance of women. Most men instinctually know they are the protectors to rescue their lady and it's not our right to say, "I don't need to be protected." Yes, there are men who don't have any boundaries and make us feel like we can't do anything, but if we have a healthy outlook on life and love than we would see that much sooner

They say that the stomach (good food) is the way to a man's heart... (power tools might work too)...

What are some of the ways to a woman's heart??

Hopefully we'll get a few more answers from the ladies than from the men..
:p

Let me see

A man who will let me have my own opinions and doesn't try to speak for me,
or over me. (Take note all the men who answered for the ladies :D).

A man who talks to me, not at my chest! Lol and worse still other women's chests!

A man who doesn't drink, smoke, gambler or swear (well maybe if he hit his thumb with a
hammer then it wouldn't be so bad if some expletive slipped out, but I can't stand it when
men swear all the time)

A man who shaves! (You might think your beard is fashionable but would you like
to rub up against a hedgehog!)

A man who doesn't expect to come home from work and put his feet up. While I also
come home from work, make his dinner, wash up, clean, vac, put out the rubbish and fall
exhausated into bed. I want a man not 6 foot toddler to run around after. :)

Goes without saying, a man who is a born again Christian with similar beliefs.

A man who won't leave all the gardening and decorating to me.

Someone with a sense of humour.

Someone spontaneous, who will turn up with flowers just because they felt like it.
or buy something even though it's not my birthday or Christmas.

Here is a biggie. Might seem strange but it really is a biggie. Someone who won't
instantly reject me just because I am not white, or not black. That is a missive thing
as the average white person will only look for a white partner. The average black
person will only look for a white person, the average Asian will only look for an Asian
partner etc. Thats a massive problem if you are mixed race. Most people can't see beyond
skin colour when it comes to picking out a husband/wife.

My Oma's neighbor is a white man and he is married to the sweetest Chinese woman. I'm not even kidding she is the sweetest person I have ever met. I love her, she doesn't speak much English though she tries.

He must be a bit silly ( or I will drive him insane :p )

For a man to be marriage material I'd have to know he'd help around the house.

Someone who isn't clingy (I really, really, really need alone-time), but isn't afraid of a public hug either.

Knowing how to cook is always a bonus :D

Look at this guy who shaved and cut his hair, a good looking man was hiding under that!
