While what Jesus said is absolutely true, not every interpretation of it is. Rarely is the whole truth dug out of it, but merely pieces of it that by itself would justify the reader.

For instance, this verse says BELIEVES, not a singular, one-time belief & it's over. Because BELIEVES is plural, then continual present believing is required.

EATS is plural. Not eat a snack & leave the Master's table. A continual process. "Study to show thyself approved", is what Paul says, not "believe once & be forever approved".

Now EG, you might not believe that one-time thing, but many here you fellowship with do.

Brother, we should not for one moment think that the Pharisees hate God. We can bad mouth them all we want but an educated Jew will argue with you out of the word of God until your head spin.

They do have faith but their faith is mixed between their own laws and God's law. Jesus said to them they are blind because of this, not because they did not keep the law. They have their own set of rules and as a result they focus on the Talmud, but that is not God's word.

Jesus kept the Torah to the last letter and it always makes me smile how people can defend their own fleshly desires (like not keeping the 10 commandments) but tell us they follow Jesus.

If you want to follow King Jesus, set up an appointment with the Rabbi because He will teach you the way.

Many people on this forum are quoting Hebrews and Romans time and time again to tell us sin has no effect on us anymore. I wonder how would they explain this:

The context of Hebrews 10 is Hebrew Christians wanting to forsake the assembling together in church capacity and go back to the old way, under the old covenant....they were forsaking the assembly and in so doing were counting the blood of Jesus a common ordinary base thing while trampling under foot the Son of God....The Pharisees were called blind leaders of the blind and they encompassed land and sea to make one convert and in so doing would make a man 2 fold the child of hell....their gospel and view were false and in error bro....Love and truth go hand in hand.....one can be as sincere as they can be and still blind and or lost at the end of the day..

The man seems to think it is important for us to understand WHO God later became displeased with and did not let enter His rest. Why do you suppose David described the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness without the deeds of the LAW (works)?

Why do you suppose the bible states NOT by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he saved us?

Why do you suppose Jesus raked the Pharisees over the coals and called them blind leaders of the blind?

Why do you suppose John was inspired to write, He that believes on the son is having everlasting life?

No, I told what the dividing line is -- light v. dark.

I also said we should be checking out ourselves to see if we're walking in light or dark, and then to carry that out in everything.

What people seem to have done with that is want to prove what they think is right, thus they must be walking in the light. Rather the opposite of what that OP was about.

Just so you know, I do think you're usually a man of God. You just have that other pesky side. The too-much-like-me side. It's pesky often, but also a good thing too. You are opened to the possibility of maybe-I-slid-off-base-and-didn't-notice. Our dander gets up. We dig in our heels, but eventually, we own up to our screw ups.

Because we both have that pesky side, I doubt this will be the last time we get into each other's faces. But do know, I do think you are a man of God.

I'm just thinking, if people aren't hearing by page 25-50ish, it's because they don't want to hear. Horses and water, man! You can lead them, but you can't make them drink!
