I'm tired of politics today, so I've been looking at good quality food. Fried chicken is at the top of my list.

I started to post this one as a poll, but I'm not sure about the appropriateness of using brand names so I'll just post the article. Personally, of the ones tested, I prefer the winner. What say you? Do you have a better place for us to visit (other than Mama's kitchen)?

Well, I have never heard of mamas kitchen?
Unless we are talking about my kitchen lol
I do love Fried chicken and I also make some good fried chicken
Im not sure who makes the best fried chicken though

a toss up between popeye's and bojangles . ( bojangles is a mostly southern chain restaurant, not sure how far north or west it goes.)

I didn't care for Popeyes, I never tried all those dipping sauces they talk about though lol

Here we have 2 choices, KFC or Church's. Church's is our preference.

Never heard of Church's over here but we have KFC.

I love KFC.
Supermarkets over here sell Southern Fried Chicken but it's not the same.

I went out to KFC with a friend and his son with my son, at their suggestion.

We got the bargain buckets. They actually pulled the coating off and just eat the chicken. I was flabbergasted, mind you I eat it all.

I could destroy this big boy in no time.



Ps don't tell anyone on the BDF as some will accuse me of gluttony and goodness knows where that will lead

Two jobs I had as a teen were at fried chicken places: KFC was the first, a summer job, and then when I was in college to supplement my savings, and government education loan and grant, I worked for Mary Brown, who advertised that she had the best legs in town. At Mary Brown's we were trained how to use a circular saw to cut up chickens without also lopping off an arm at the same time, whereas @ KFC the chickens came already cut up, and ready for frying.

I just looked up Popeye's, which seems to have a Canadian presence only in Alberta.

Chicken is something I do consume a fair bit of in terms of my meat intake. Many large chain grocery stores have roasted chickens ready to eat, and also a hot bar where you can get specific cuts, like wings with a variety of marinades, or just the legs and thighs, or chicken tenders, which is breast meat... but even my corner store has a hot bar with roasted chickens available to the consumer. Sometimes a whole roasted chicken will cost about seven or eight dollars, but the last time I went to buy one, it was twelve dollars!

Mind you I was gutted once in a KFC.

it was the only time I had been to America.
On the first night we went to a KFC and waited 45 minutes to be served.
We asked for fries only to be told they didn't do fries but did mashed potatoe.
Given the time difference and tiredness and hunger I threw a wobbly.

Norway doesn't have a tradition for fried food, though we haveA american fast food chains of various sorts.

KFC is definitely better than places like McDonalds / Burger king though.... since the meat at least isn't grey :p

Were they sold out? It seems odd for them to just plain not have fries :eek: When I worked at KFC (mind you that was eons ago :D) we would get line-ups down the block on Sunday afternoons, coming up to dinner time...

Moseberth's fried chicken, it's not a national fast food chain, just a local one but yummie good. lol

All I can remember was "Sorry but no fries"

I mean KFC without fries is like

Sometimes my daughter and I will eat at McDonald's, if we need something to eat and have the dogs in the car, because we can go through the drive-through and eat in the car with the dogs in the back seat. It is quick and easy, and I almost always order their grilled chicken sandwich, which is really tasty and never grey... Burger King we just do not habituate. We may have gone once or twice when there is a really good deal on something, but otherwise it just does not show up on our radar of choices of places to eat. Likewise KFC :eek:
