Joh 6:40 This is my Father's will: That everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him to life on the last day."
Once again, define believe.
The demons believe He is who He said He is, they knew it for a fact. They know and believe He was raised on the third day. They know what is going to happen, just as He said it will - (did you come to torment us before the time?)

If you believe Him, you will do one of two things:
1. You will do all He said or,
2. You will see that you don't and will ask for the help you need.

Aren't we constantly doing these two things as He shows us what our heart is up to in matters? Who hasn't struggled with belief? Who hasn't examined the storing of treasure on earth against all He told us? Who hasn't had their life fall apart or implode at some point and asked, where ARE You, Lord??

Is believing simple? There are a lot of hindrances (the world and our own self for two) to the obedience of faith. Try not storing treasure on earth and wait to hear your own family calling you a fool and the entire world siding with them. Then wait and hear the Christians you know saying you're a fool too!

Oh.......maybe because he was UNDER the LAW and STRUCK the rock in ANGER TWICE......and as a representative of the LAW all he could do was LEAD to the PROMISE land but NEVER deliver because it takes a SAVIOR to deliver into the land of REST (JOSHUA)
moses made it to the promised land so his law was good

after recieving the spirit the sventy elders then started speaking like prophets.. i WOULD CALL THAT SPEAKING IN TONGUES which ever way you look at it... from speaking normaly to speaking like a prophet is speaking like God and in tongues ... no doubt they would have been speaking Gods lauguage when they spoke like prophets which is speaking in tougnes..

However i do see your point but please quit trying to make me look bad at every oppertunity.. coz you dont know it all and nither does anyone else in this thread.. but your comment are you more loving than God is just ridiculous and bordering insanity or something a demon would make you say..

You may have knowledge of theese things however i believe we are given enough spirit to fight of there attacks but still it is not enough just like moses and jonah which you seem to think your above them coz you can fight them of all by your self.. good luck with that one..
Wow..you totally misunderstood my post.

First I don't believe I can fight demons myself. I believe we can pray and God will send angels and they take care of the supernatural realm.

Second I was trying to show how God loves us because we as sinners would protect our children. Therefore God who loves us more than we love our kids would send His angels to protect us too.

I was trying to say that God sends His angels to protect all His kids even if we can't see them because He loves us.

Sorry if my message got lost.

I don't think I am better than anyone on this forum.

I actually think most are probably more knowledgeable and wiser than I am.

However I am as God has made me and that is enough to follow and glorify Him.

I don't have all the answers, but I know someone who does: Jesus Christ,

I hope you can say the same.

All you have to do is pray and God can reveal His truths to all His children via the Holy spirit.

However we aren't smart enough to understand it all so He gives us enough to do what we need to in this life.

God didnt destroy ninevah i thought he saved them after they listened to jonah
He did spare it, then used the Assyrians whose capitol was Nineveh to judge the Northern Kingdom of Israel....and then judged them for the violence and used the Babylonians to bring down the Assyrian kingdom......Nineveh was so thoroughly destroyed that Alexander the Great marched his army right over the top of Nineveh and did not even know it as there........

i suppose he cast them all into hell from the sound of your quote here... nope he told them to obey and left that thought with them.. so if it was christ alone who saves you why would he need to command us to obey.. ?
So we might know what his will is that works in us to both will and perform His good pleasure as a imputed righteousness.

Why do you think he says to the foolish ones to obey as those before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among us.Was Christ cruicifed, does he need to be recruicified every time you violate any part of the law, knowing you transgress the whole law when one is violated?

What is the wage of one sin? Go do a good work ?

foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?Gal 3:1

Will you obey by believing the hearing of Christ's faith or is it not clear he was crucified? How many times does a person have to lay again and again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God?

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward GodOf the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Heb 6:1

Better thing accompany those who obey the word beleiving what it says, called redemption .

we are all surrounded by millions of angels waiting to explode into millions of angels... hence the milky way.. question is which one are you ? a shining star waiting to give birth or a death star looking to destroy so that you survive.. like the story of the lioness mum who kills one of her own so the others survive.. ?

We deserve nothing, but we have a God who loves us enough to give second chances.
i heard a preacher say, ONE chance (our first parents) and a SECOND Adam.

i kinda like that. it's all about the Savior. :)

Ninevah was destroyed, just as Nahum prophesied.
a generation later - God showed mercy to them, which made Jonah angry to the point that he'd rather die than see that happen. he disagreed with God about who mercy should be shown to, but he knew that God's grace, lovingkindness and mercy is everlasting - as Ariel quoted a few posts above.

so ((side note)) - Christ at Gethsemane. He prays, if it be the Father's will, let the cup pass - but His will be done. is this an argument in the middle of the godhead? is God divided? i've been thinking about this: God is perfectly holy and just, and He is also perfectly graceful and abounding in faithful love. the Father is not willing that any should perish, but has put all under sin so that all may receive mercy. Christ will come again in all righteous judgement, and the Father calls judgement His "
strange work" ((re: Isaiah 28:21)).
so the cup - is it the Father's mercy? if so is Jesus expressing His zeal for righteousness by asking that if it is in His will, it pass from Him? but nevertheless, the Father's will is done - and through Christ mercy may be shown to all who put their hope in Him. but the Father is holy & just, and through Christ also His perfect judgement will be done, reconciling all things in Himself, being all-in-all.
IOW, there at Gethsemane are we seeing mercy covering over judgement, the grace of God removing the condemnation of the Law, by the Father's will being done, and the cup of Christ being taken in full? because what would have happened if that cup had passed?
but it's not "
an argument" - His mercy prevails; He is faithful, and "nevertheless, thy will be done"

suffer the children to come to Him
when did they need to suffer, to have faith in a saviour. (there is a differance, between sickness and sin)

when a finished work, proclaimed freedom to all prisoners , if some do not know, what that finished work was or what it accomplished, they became blind guides. and only post at posts that, agree with them selfs, yet only prove, that they are blind.

not in jonahs day it wasnt but in davids day it was
Bro......you need to study more with all due respect....

David ruled circa 1000 B.C

Nineveh was the capitol of Assyria which destroyed the Northern Kingdom of Israel in 721 B.C. some 250 years or so AFTER the death of David

The Babylonians conquered Assyria LONG after David was dead and buried...............which included the razing of Nineveh and destruction of Nineveh in 612 B.C.

Do the math and take some time to study bro.

amen which is why i said Jesus christ left us with the thought that we should obey...

he was not casting those pharissees into hel when he commanded them to obey him.. he showed them mercy in my book ,,, but many here say he was condemming them to hell i say he was only warning them of hell.. and that this wrong .. im a bbeliever of a false gospel for saying as much.. really ?

Chastening

a. Who gets chastened by God
b. Why do they get chastened
c. What does getting cut lose for the destruction of the flesh so that the spirit will be saved mean?
a. His children
b. For doing wrong
C. This one is a longer answer. I believe it means to ignore someone and let them take the course they are taking until they learn to listen by crashing and burning.

God does not give second chances. Adam and Eve ate by doing the good pleasure of another will and died. He gives eternal life the first time he gives us the hearing of is faith our first love by which we can know him who has no form .

There is no deserving mercy we fear Him because with Him there is forgiveness without him there is no grace. He either redeems us frpm all of our iniquities or he forgives nothing

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption. And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities. Psa 130:1
