They never experience not to trust God before, it take faith. We never experience heaven, or see Jesus, it take faith. So we are in the same position
They merited Gods love, We never have and never will.

No, we are not in the same position at all. We will never experience what they had until we get to heaven.

It's so sad that folks will push one part of a verse waaay over the top to make it say waaay more than it says, & totally ignore that the same verse that says it can happen.

New International Version
But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

New Living Translation
But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.

English Standard Version
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

Berean Study Bible
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

Berean Literal Bible
But we are not of
those drawing back to destruction, but of faith to the preserving of the soul.

New American Standard Bible
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

The writer is explaining in the same verse that there that there are those that shrink back to destruction.

Plain & literal.

Sinners can't shrink back, so it's not talking about them.

If this wasn't true, the author would have reworded the verse.

No matter what version you use, they all say the same thing.

WE ARE NOT OF THOSE WHO SHRINK BACK, and are destroyed,

WE ARE THOSE WHO CURRENTLY POSSES FAITH that WILL SAVE OUR SOUL.

meaning THOSE THAT SHRINK BACK DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE FAITH.

If this man wants to misinterpret a passage and continue to trust his own ability not to fall back, and not on God to save his soul. Let him,

for the rest, Please read carefully. Do not trust yourself and be those who fall back to destruction, But have saving faith that God will preserve your soul. For THAT AND ONLY THAT (the fact God will preserve your soul) will keep you from destruction.

The duplicitous contradictions and twisting are getting pretty stupid...

We never experience heaven, they never experience world without God

I'm trying to figure out if you're saying "not saved in the first place", or a christian not currently exercising faith.

I said what Paul said.

As apposed to them who fall, We have faith to the saving of the soul

If we have faith, that must mean they do not have faith to the saving of the soul. Which is why they fell to begin with.

it goes right along with what John said, I tell you these things so you MAY KNOW YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. and in KNOWING THIS, you may CONTINUE TO BELIEVE.

It is the knowledge that we are eternally secure which keeps us from losing faith, and keeps us from falling back. Not how good or how bad we think we are. Not some law. Not some pseudo faith which is no faith at all.

This one is bizzare....

On any given day he cuts down anyone who suggests that Holy Spirit led discernment allows them to know who is or who is not saved by their fruit and calls them fruit inspectors and other charming names....and says fruit is not any kind of evidence of a true Christian....

Then like the last few days, he tells everyone who has saving faith and who does not and how evident it is when someone does not have true saving faith of Jesus and who is OSAS and who is not....

I do not know which is worse, the fact he does not see his duplicitous contradictions or he is fully aware and does not care one bit, because in his mind, the mandate of defendin and contendin fer da faith justify his means....

Even his boss, DCON does not engage in this level of treachery....

This one HATES the terms, bearing fruit and total surrender....

This really helps.

instead of trying to show how a person is wrong, Or explain what you think the passage says, You attack someone.

yep. Real christ like their buddy.

All I did was give what I think the passage says, and how I think he is missing the most important part of the passage, in a discussion..

Last I heard this was a bible discussion. Oh wait, Thats right,, You think we only discuss as long as we agree with you..

Sad dude, So sad..

Do you have a view on what you think the passage says, or do you just want to attack?

So Meggido or Stephen.. I showed you why I think the passage says what I think it says, Do you want to attack like usual. Or show me where I am in error (and no. You saying it does not say what I think it says and thats final is not discussin gthe word of God it is you trying to force your view on others.

So you still have nothing meaningful to say.

Thanks bud,, Unless you have something to say on the subject. Please go your way.

I am trying to discuss the word. Doing that hurts some times.. Thats not my fault. and ps. I have no squad, I have no crew, I just have a bunch of people who agree with me, and we all say the same thing. Just like the other side has a group of people who believe the same thing, It does not mean they have a group.

If you do not like someone telling you they disagree with your interpretation of scripture. This is not the place for you..

Now, If you have something meaningful to say about the passage, I am all ears and will discuss it, If all you want to do is attack, please go else where. I am done playing games.

Who are "they"?

Who else would they be? Those who do not have faith in the saving of the soul. Since we are those who DO have faiht in the saving of the soul.

Just because one has been going to church, even for years, does not mean they have or ever had faith to the saving of the soul..

Are those who do not have faith that God will preserve their soul saved?
I believe when God's word is taught, it should be with precision, not open-ended to multiple interpretations.

I'm asking for precision for the sake of the readers who may misinterpret an open-ended answer.

I believe the same thing. I also believe the bible can never contradict itself.

So again I ask, Can someone who does not have faith in God saving the soul be saved?

Think about it, If paul could ever think he had the ability to fall back to destruction, He could never place himself in the position of "we" or the group of people he said had faith to the saving or preservation of the soul and not a part of those who fall back to perdition, destruction...

Belief in people. who will fail us, I agree, many lose faith in people we once trusted.

Belief in God, who will never fail us, I find that impossible.. I think you witnessed people who never had true faith, and thus never experienced Gods true love walk away because their belief had no power. II do not think you ever met a person who had real saving faith turn to the point they do not even believe in God anymore. Lack faith in certain areas? yes, it takes time to see God work in different areas of our lives. and to learn to trust him,, But stop having any faith at all.. I can't see it.
My nephew, for 20 years was the biggest Jesus freak ever. Yet it wasn't that long ago that he said it's all a lie and God doesn't exist. How do you balance those two positions in one person?

The way I see it, The author of hebrews (most think is paul) said there are two groups he was writing to .

Us

Them

Them, Fall back to perdition,

Us, Not those who will fall back, But have faith God will save their soul.

ie, We have faith, they do not.

so again, Can those who do not have faith god will save them be saved?
