Hi all...I just want to add something about obeying God...Thursday just gone i was booked to go see my son in prison, i had been feeling quiet unwell and really drained of energy due to having type 2 diabetes, it can make you feel like that , anyway i had a headache that just would not leave me and i prayed to God to lift this from me if it was His will...Thursday morning and i woke up with just enough time to get ready and out the door, but in my mind what i really wanted to do was ring the prison and cancel the visit and dive back into bed, but God had other plans for me...Ii went out the door and caught two trains to get to prison, plus a good half hour walk to get from station to prison gates, the trains came right on time, i bought some lunch and sat in the park on a bench and enjoyed my lunch with our Lord...I was telling Him how ill i felt and He was reasurring me that all will be fine, i even had an attack of heart palpatations, but i called on Jesus and they stopped in their track, i finished my lunch and arrived at the prison and had to sit waiting for another half hour before entering the prison gates it self...The crowds were loades with children , people talking in loud voices, i just wanted to run home, but the Lord was with me...

I stood outside the visitors hall with no air condition, it was hot and clamy, i remembered Jjesus saying to visit those in prison, i wanted to obey Him and not give in to my own needs...My patience was really tested that moment i was standing for the doors to open, and when they did it was worth every minute...I saw my new born again son for the first time in a year, no longer the criminal that once was, but now a new creation in Christ...We talked about serving the Lord, and He told me about his walk, we both parted with a prayer to God to give thanks for that beautiful time...

On the way home i had to stop at the bathroom, i was feeling unwell, i was afraid i would miss my train, i had the Lords peace in me and i knew i would be fine...I got home and fell into bed, but when i looked back over the day, the Lord led me, I obeyed Him every inch through my suffering, it was all about Him, and i guess what i am trying to say is If we do not obey God and do His will, then it is fruitless, the day He had blessed my son and me with would never of happened, God reminded me through out my stuggle that day that I Can do ALL things through Him who strengthens me PRAISE the Lord...I could of ignored the Holy Spirit and cancelled that day, only God got me through, obedience is a must if we are to follow Jesus, if i did not abide in Him that day, it would feel to me as if i was not living in Him, i do know that works is part of our Salvation, i can boast of nothing from myself, when the Holy Spirit is working in you, we must obey, is it not part of the calling on our life...

Why are we given test and trials if we are not to work through them, are we not proving ourselves to God that we are Faithful and true to Him when we abide to His calling...I believe if i had chose to ignore Gods calling on me that day, then James would be right in saying to me " Faith without works is dead "...
Thanks so much for posting such a beautiful testimony.
God Always rewards us for our faith and our work.
His Word does not return void.

We must all keep your son in prayer.
He's one of God's miracles.

Good morning Sir, i believe you should be taking your daily dose of medicine.

Matthew 19:16-30 The Rich Young Man Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” “Which ones?” the man inquired. Jesus replied, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Peter answered him, “We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?” Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
Good point :)

Hi Guys,

It's just me; a member like everyone else is. And a believer as I hope everyone else is as well. I believe that is so. I believe we all love the Lord our God with all our hearts. We may not have all our i's dotted or our t's crossed, but we're being sanctified from glory to glory.

I just wanted to say that I'm so saddened and grieved at the way this thread has digressed to acting out in the flesh. Let's look over our threads and see if there's anything that's not of the Lord or lead of the Spirit and repent of our words.

I just want to cry for all of us and invite you all over to my home so that we can enjoy fellowship as we walk in the light .... good food and worship Jesus ........ let's have a time of praise and worship and repentance. Jesus is here among us and we're grieving the Holy Spirit.

I'm working on my study in 2 Peter right now and one of the cross references that I just looked up for the study is this one:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

I believe the Lord wanted me to post it here so that's what I'm doing.

Like I said, it's just me, but maybe we should look over our posts and see if we may have misstepped. Let's pray and ask the Spirit of God to convict us where we need to be rebuked for our actions and allow His cleansing power to visit us here and now.

Dear Lord, I life up all that have visited this thread and I pray that you would allow us to see the schemes of the enemy that comes in to divide the sheep, to hate and devour one another.

Please Lord, help us to speak truth in love for the reason that we truly care for one another. Help us to forgive 7x77. Help us to take the wrong and learn what it means to serve one another as you have and continue to do...... serving us each and every day.

Thank you Lord for bleeding on the cross at calvary, thank you for your beautiful and wondrous gift of grace that none of us deserve and thank you for eternal life where we will enjoy fellowship with one another forever and ever.

Help us all to see You, Lord in one another so that we will know no man after the flesh. That we would see one another as sisters and brothers; as family in You, Lord.

And when we discuss and contend for the faith, help us to allow you to guide our hearts, for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Please fill our hearts afresh with Your Spirit and with the fruit of the Spirit. Like David prayed, please create in us a clean heart O Lord and renew a right spirit in us. In Jesus' name, Amen!

Also if anyone has been hurt by something I may have said in a post, I ask for forgiveness, but also ask that you PM me so that I can tell you personally that I'm sorry.

If I said something that's truth, I'm not sorry about that, but if I said anything in an ugly, fleshly, carnal way, please know that I want you to tell me so that I can ask you to forgive me.

And love doesn't keep a record of wrongs, so let's throw the hurtful words into the fire to be burned up and never to be remembered again.

Love you all! Because we're family. :) And if Jesus loves you, who am I to not love you as well.

God bless you all!

In Chris't love,
~DR~

Amen...the "perfect tense" is very revealing of the work of Christ.

Another place where the perfect tense is used is when Jesus said on the cross. "It is finished".

I suppose to some that reject Christ's eternal redemption which He obtained as Hebrews 9:12 says - this statement of Jesus would mean "It is finished unless something stronger comes around and dis-lodges what I have done here."

My goodness....why do we have so many unbelieving believers in the body of Christ?

Hebrews 9:12 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Ephesians 1:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
My goodness Grace,
IT IS FINISHED is referring to Jesus' salvific work.

Joe,
You endorse a poster that believes in double predestination and has admitted that even if babies are not elect they go to hell....be careful who you endorse...P4t is hard core TULIP Calvinist, who believes solely in predestination and that God elects those he saves and also believes that since God elects only some to heaven, he also sends others to hell....and those he sends too hell have no choice in the matter...He admitted this on a very old thread another Calvinist started weeks & weeks ago....
uhhhh okkkkk?
how by "helping" someone find a post and agreeing with said post,am I "endorsing" the poster?
I did not respond to said post even in rep saying that I encourage "All" that they believe,I merely spoke on what truth was in the post, you seem a bit confused as to difference is between "agreeing" with what is said in a post and "endorsing"(not only agreeing but encouraging the person's overall outlook)as I said I "agree" with "preacher's" post but am yet to "endorse" him,as with many I may end up disagreeing with his beliefs, but that doesn't mean I can't still like a post that has "Truth" in it,whether fran, dcontroversal, stones of fire, magenta,or any other person on here me "liking" or even "repping" their posts doesn't mean I automatically believe as they believe,it just means I have found "Truth" in their post or I simply like their post for some other reason(like noting effort of quoting alot of scriptures, repped a few people just for their effort awhile ago!)

For the record, as one has claimed falsely, I do not hold to double predestination. I do however hold to Sovereign election. The former isn't biblical, the latter, though maligned absolutely is.

Just setting the record straight brothers and sisters in answer to the accuser who desires to poison the minds of many against me, sow discord and cause division.

I think you need to give it a rest... truly... you words are taking on very personal tone.

I find this very hurtful and offensive
she said that to me, but thank you anyway! I take no offense at someone who thinks that believe really means works calling me dumb. it would be different if it came from a creditable source........

I don't think you are doing reductionism, I know you are. you might not identify with the word, but that is what you are doing. and also, this belittling of others , like undergarce's husband because he does not agree with your interprataion of greek language is an argument tactic.

and I just looked at baker's evangelical dictionary of Biblical theology, and the connection of believe and faith. no mention of works. so, either identify the source you are referring to, or stop referring to it. I ain't playing your game. you are wrong till you provide a source about believe means works. and the Bible nor would the Holy Sprit ( the Sprit of truth )would confirm this disiformation.
Since I claim not to know GREEK, as some here do, maybe you could ask THEM to give you what you want to know.

What I said, is that I actually taught what BELIEVE means, and not from strong's.
It's correlated to faith and OBEDIENCE.

you'll have to do your own work.
I've done Whole lessons here, but will no longer do this since I find it to be a waste of time.

Use your online resources.
Use old-fashioned books.

You should do this however, because it would prove you to be wrong.
And it would teach you something.

For instance, that works ARE NECESSARY, that we are TO DO THEM, that we MUST OBEY GOD, and all this is possible BECAUSE OF OUR FAITH.

See. I helped you tying it all together.
But there's much more.

I can say that if you were not such a disagreable person who was here only to give me grief, I would gladly post a lot (like I used to) but, alas, that time is over exactly because of persons such as yourself ---

who make me do the work, and then criticize and mock.

You will not play my game?
I will not play yours.

Likening a "like" to aiding and abetting robbery and murder is not apt at all.
