I guess some people prefer the huge mega churches, which is certainly attested to by the mere fact of their existence. It is easier to go unnoticed and unchecked there, that's for sure. In small fellowship groups, people get to know each other much more intimately, reading the Word of God and sharing their concerns as it relates to God's Word, praying for each other, and yes, *gasp* even breaking bread together. Jesus started with a small group :)
stop projecting and implying what you think people are saying and spreading speculations that are nothing but ideas cooked up in your own mind, to sow discord and to intentionally discredit people...Not one person condemned small groups or said they preferred mega churches or even alluded to these things but you...

You are willfully planting seeds of doubt nobody has stated or even alluded to, the motivation for why you do it is becoming clear and I am not the only one who has taken notice and acted accordingly...

Now small fellowship groups are being condemned? Unbelievable.
i have had people suggest to me you can not know or follow Gods will without a good attendance at a building...

Another problem with traditional church, they met in homes in NT not in great houses of God.

Haha you mean we are all doomed unless we attend some mega church? Isn't it interesting that the churches that others seem to believe teach error, are often mega churches?

Reject such comments.
Yes it is good to meet for corporate worship.
It can be edifying.

If memory serves me the early Christian's met in homes.

We are responsible ourselves for seeking God and his will for us.

But yes it is good to meet and fellowship and build each other up.

i wont judge a church for its size....

but i DO agree fellowship is an amazing blessing

its just a shame not everyone has the luxury of traditional fellowship

meeting at a small building big building or a home

some people are oppressed even by their own family

but God wont keep the truth from them if they seek him

no. we see a changed Peter ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST. AFTER the Holy Spirit fell.

you do believe Jesus had to die and be restored to life by the Father BEFORE the new covenant was enacted, right?

so, if saving faith is believing in our Lord Jesus Christ, as the only begotten son of God, who died for our sins and rose again and lives forevermore at the right hand of the Father and to Whom God has given all things and put all things under His feet and Who has the power to grant eternal life to those who believe, then how was Peter or anyone else saved?

I point you again to the covenant between Abraham and God. God made that covenant with Abraham. What did God ultimately ask of Abraham? didn't He tell Abraham to sacrifice Issac? and didn't Abraham OBEY?

God stopped his hand but ONLY when Abraham was sure to have obeyed, standing over his long awaited promised son, with sacrificial knife in his hand. God provided a sacrifice (He still does)

then we also have Moses whom God sought to kill because of his DISOBEDIENCE. Moses' wife took care of the matter

BOTH testify PRIOR to the ten commandments.

It is obvious that God never intended salvation through the keeping of a set of rules. HOWEVER, it is also obvious the covenant is ONLY in affect, when the 2nd party, us, OBEYS...ie Abraham obeying and the possible deathly consequences of NOT obeying we see in Moses

that is not a work. God has kept His part of the covenant by sending His Son. His Son was obedient unto death.

We, accept Jesus as our Savior in order to become a part of the NC God extends. We enact and show the covenant true when we obey, as did Christ, our example in all things

this is not about works. please try not to confuse it with works

but if you note, works are the acceptable and expected outcome of faith...saving faith...in Christ

and then further, after we have the simple works, outward expressions of our faith, we have the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are given as the discretion of God, by His Spirit

you cannot teach a person how to be anointed. you cannot teach a person what God gives as HE chooses

I would say you can impart a gift as per scripture, but many hands imparting a so called gift are actually imparting demons

and that has become Christianity 101 and most deny it
Many here profess OT saints were saved as they are....by grace through faith...

After today I am seeing another wrinkle, that many of them confuse Paul doing battle agaisnt the Mosaic law and say Paul is battling works....

Very few OSAS/ES believers seem to not fathom covenant truth anymore....there was a time that even the most ardent OSAS/ES believer acknowledged at least the old and the New covenant....as evidenced here, proper truth is obscured and even lost...some of these folks are stating OT saints were saved by faith and grace and one seemed to say they did not even need the shedding of blood for forgiveness of their sin....I have asked a few before placing them on ignore...how can an OT saint be saved under the provisions of the New Covenant, when Jesus had not even died yet.....answer...faith and grace....

you are suggesting that my post was for those who have already died Christ and and were raised into newness of life and continue into ongoing/practical sanctification......yeah it was not for those few that get that there...it was for those who need to understand who they really are in Christ and to obey and die fully...and be raised into new life...

When Pastors at Hillsong & City Church tell millions in the world that Romans 10.9-10 does not mean what it says, they are apart of the discussion...because they are the main influencers in the body today....even more so than Bethel and Jesus Culture...
Nobody here is from either ministry. That's my point.

Which one of the 82 + were Jesus personal and only deliverance minister?

Yeah all of them......

Maybe instead of some super special single anointed minister, we need to train everyone in the body they have authority for themselves...

That is what would really rock the boats and cause an outpouring...because several could not hide any longer...
I cannot and do not disagree. Especially in this time period.

Right about that it's the black widow effect, weave a web of baiting, word twisting, thought projecting, and you have wolf in sheep clothing, the more a person fights back the more the person gets intangled, got to be wise for sure or a person will get sucked into the drama, very sneaky and cunning, can hardly notice if your not looking.

I find it humorous in Canada the two top mega churches are, one being spring church about 8,000 average attendance and the other is centra street church attendance about 7,000. these don't even come close to making the top 50 in the U.S.

People who think other people can't be close in a mega church has never been to one, surely people talk with the people around them at the mega church. Why do people think a mega church congregation don't talk to each other is beyond me. lol

I don't judge a church according to its size either, though someone else here just said "get rid of small groups... " I was baptized in quite a large church, but eventually left because they were not consistently teaching the Truth of God's Word, among other things I did not care for. I was not being fed is what it boiled down to.

I have seen a video posted here a couple of times, not that I watched the whole thing (because it is a fairly long video), but saw enough of it to understand that the leaders of the mega church being scrutinized actually admitted that theirs was not a church for believers, but for seekers.

Job 25-27.

Job knows his Redeemer will some day live?

No! Job proclaims he KNOWS HIS REDEEMER LIVES!!

By faith he believes this.

God's greatness in salvation does not remove man's responsibility to keep believing to the very end to be saved in the very end. We have the greatest of great coaches in the Holy Spirit to encourage us to believe to the very end. I give God all the credit he is due in keeping me believing to this very day (31 years). But his greatness in helping me continue to believe never releases me from the obligation to respond to his encouragement to keep believing, or the danger that I may one day refuse his encouragement to keep believing because of trials and troubles and temptations for this world. God doesn't do my believing for me. He helps me to believe, but he won't do it for me.
Once we are touched, we can never resist. :) Nothing more will I add.

Hi Megiddo, I hope all is well with you.

Firstly can I ask what is OSAS/ES believers. I get OSAS but not ES.

With regards to salvation in the OT I have often asked myself how were people saved and if so how so.

As you know I am a simple man and I have always assumed it is as a result of the sacrificial system in place for sins.

Then I read Romans 4, will only post the first few verses because we are taking about OT saints.

Romans 4:1-8
Chapter 4
Abraham Justified by Faith
1 What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.
David Celebrates the Same Truth
5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

Can you expand your thoughts for me please.

yep, just like Abraham, and David knew their redeemer and he lived,

so much for all the Old Testament or covenant arguments, the fall apart when the OT is actually used.

if I may add, Hebrews said plainly the sacrifice of bulls and goat NEVER paid for sin, and David in his psalm of confession admitted Gd did not desire sacrifice and burnt offering fr payment f his grave sins,

the law never saved anyone, and will never save anyone.
