Permissjon to rant? I love my students. But don't come here after not showing up 50% of the time complaining and saying he needs this course, but this course stinks, he wants to speak with my boss to complain about everything, everything is a problem, including me, and the government is a problem because they say he has to show up to get money, and he doesn't get enough money, why do they pay twice a month, because those fourteen days he has to pay rent he doesnt't have much money left for food, and they can't ask him to save money the next fourteen days, of course, and why should he work anyway???? And the socialworker just sits there nodding. And tells him he can continue at the course, but try to show up this time grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr When shall people grow up and take responsibility for their own actions?

Skulle gjerne ha resitert fra diktet, om det ikke var for alle de stygge ordene han bruker, salig Jacob Sande.

Woulda been fun reciting from that poem, but it's a symphony of foul language lol.

The expense of bottled water- the most abundant resource on the planet. Yet if you put something in it, such as kool-aid, the price goes down.
Do you know the real reason why that is?

It is the very same reason why buying a new PC with Windows on it cost significantly less than buying just the hardware with no OS on it.

Just think for a while about why that is...

GaryA, you must buy your computers from a different place. The computers I buy are cheaper with no OS, or with Linux (Ubuntu, Mint, CentOS) than they are with Windows.

So -- where do you buy your computers?

Amazon, Ebay, random chance encounters, whatever. Who buys a NEW computer? That's just wasteful. :p

Actually the places around here don't sell computers with no OS. But bare-bones setups I've seen on Tiger Direct are always cheaper - even after you add all the other hardware necessary to run them - than a computer complete with OS.

"Wow, a guy who cooks!"

"You're a guy? And you bake bread?"

Yes I'm a guy and yes I like to cook and I live on sourdough bread that I bake myself at home. And if you keep acting like that's so weird, you're not getting a crumb. You hear? Not ONE SINGLE CRUMB! So there. :p

I don't know why people act like it's so odd for a guy to cook. What am I supposed to do, live on those pot pie abominations from the freezer section? Food is a wonderful world to explore.

Right now, for example, I have a chuck roast in the crock pot. I opted for milk and cream instead of tomato base, with green beans, carrots and onions. Tonight we'll see how it turns out. I might add garlic, but I'm still debating that.

EDIT: I decided against garlic. Garlic is great, and it wouldn't exactly clash in the current setup, but it wouldn't really add anything either.

I did add some dill weed and a bit of salt though.

When I say something is wrong with the walk-in freezer, something is wrong. Yes I know what a defrost cycle is. I've seen hundreds of defrost cycles in my years at this workplace, walking in the freezer to grab something multiple times a day. This is not a defrost cycle. The food is getting soggy.

But I also know that the next time I say something is wrong you will once again ignore me. I'm going to tell you anyway because you're the manager and you're supposed to fix stuff when it goes wrong, but I know you will ignore me until the problem becomes too bad to ignore.

Yeah - I understand bare-bones. I was thinking about the average person buying an average tower computer these days. Unless things have changed recently, it seems like Microsoft has always managed to make deals with the hardware manufacturers so that they could offer cheaper computers with Windows than you could find anywhere with no OS or a different OS.

Oh, 'cmon -- tell us... :D

Wait. You said - no way - you are not going to tell 'none' of us...

Does that mean it is certain that you will tell all of us...?

Yeah - well - okay - maybe not...
