"You have the right to have what you want, exactly when you want it. Because on the menu of life you are "Today's Special". And tomorrow's. And the day after that. And well you get the drill. Yes that's right, we may be the king but you my friend are the almighty ruler."

The worship was well led, and the preacher came and started giving a very good talk contrasting King Herod and King Jesus in the nativity story.
So far, in a way, there were no surprises. But then he paused and started to talk about how, today too, the Kingship of Jesus is being rejected in all sorts of subtle and surprising ways which exalt us as human beings in the place of God.
And on the screen behind him he showed a photo he had taken of a flier in Burger King which he had seen on a recent visit to the fast food restaurant.

I commend this preacher for exposing spiritual debauchery, but...
When the leaders of Orthodox Christendom make false claims about God's word, they are taking the Lord's name in vain according to the 3rd commandment, and following in the same footsteps as ancient Israel’s religious leaders. Ezekiel wrote this indictment of such leaders as this.

Ezekiel 22:23-28
[SUP]25 [/SUP]There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.

Conspiracy is a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. The leaders knew better, but they did it anyway.

[SUP]26 [/SUP]Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken.

Almost immediately after God (through Christ, the BRANCH) had spoken the Ten Commandments, Israel's leaders began speaking lies in the name of God, and by doing that took His name in vain and made an idol made in the image of a "golden calf," according to Egyptian tradition they had learned while in slavery.

"(Touch not; taste not; handle not;Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?" (Colossians 2:21-22)

In the end, I do hope you receive blessings by adhering to the truth. I hope you do not get what you are not looking for. I hope you hear this in the end....

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:21)

Hebrews 2:1-3
1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
[SUP]3 [/SUP]How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Biblical advice for all of us is as follows...
"
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." (Hebrews 4:1)

When it comes to the real truth we should care about who we are assisting.

Matthew 18:17

If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

I'd sooner have it God's way.

Is there an insinuation of sorts? Candidness is good.

Romans 12:18

If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Do you get it yet teacher ?

Jesus offered a challenge for us all:

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him” (John 4:23).

We live in a world historically deceived about the truth—especially religious truth. But when you do learn the truth, take Christ’s challenge: believe it and follow it. God is seeking you.

you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.
