Such are ALL who push law, works and or a losable salvation......
What too many don't understand is the law remains for all.
Without the law how do we know what sin is.
Sin is transgression of the law.
Jesus died on the cross as the unblemished Lamb of God.
Thus removing the penalty of sin from those who accept him.

I thank God for this as I am a sinner!!!

If you as a believer do not know what sin is, You have more issues than the law will help you with. (Not to mention, the law can only give you a glimpse of what some sins are. It is a very incomplete list)

the mixed messages in this site are 'mind-boggling' = most say and believe that IF'
they have received the HS, then what ever they do is of no consequences, because
they have the 'indwelling' of the HS, they can do what ever in their 'physical bodies-
and they are no more responsible or accountable for their 'choices',,,
and on the other hand, there are those who know the Truth, that
we will all 'reap' what we sow, 'no lee=way, no exception, ' at the 'Judgment Seat of Christ'...
You ignore the testimony of Paul. Read Romans 7. Starting at verse 14 Paul laments his sinful nature causing him to continue to sin even as he tries not to sin.

We all have this problem!!!

Hello again CC!!!

There's this teaching in my old church that when Christians get to heaven, God would show them something like a slideshow of their lives on earth, what they have done and that they would remember all their failures and mistakes.

Anyone heard of this blasphemy before?

Apparently, the scripture "...their sins, I will remember no more" did not reach my old congregation.
Not blasphemy. Too strong a word.. In Revelation Jesus sits on the judgment seat and for Christians gives a level of reward according to the person's actions. All get to see the reasons. I don't like those verses looking at my sinful history.

I do not endorse Jack T. Chick tracts, but to answer your question I have to defend Chicks estate [he died last year] and his most famous tract, This was your life

This tract deals with a man who died lost and in his sin and at the Great White throne judgement he is shown his life.

Many churches gobbled this up and instead of correctly discerning Jack was showing us the great white and not the judgement seat, began to preach that this was your life at the judgement seat of Christ.

As usual, truth gets twisted by people.

My family on my father's side had drunks. My father almost became one. Apparently some people have a bodily response to alcohol that causes them to be susceptible to this. Some medical professionals think it might be a mild allergic reaction that causes a heightened pleasurable response to it. As a result I don't normally drink. In field service for my telemetry company I was expected to join in and many times pay for food and drinks with customers. I had a very strict 3 drink rule. When rounds were being made I stopped at 3 and others took turns drinking the extra drink on the table. They thought it was funny. But I never became an alcoholic. I always got a vodka Collins. The first tasted great, the second not so much, and the third I could barely finish. That helped. At home I would have a bottle of Sangria by my chair in the living room. It would last a couple of weeks. Currently I am taking a medication that precludes drinking of any kind. I don't miss it.
The condition you describe medically is real. I learned this about myself. When alcohol of any kind enters my brain and dopamine is released there is an allergenic reaction caused by the alcohol mixing with the dopamine.

My dopamine levels would skyrocket to abnormal levels and would not shut off, until I stopped drinking, so naturally I would binge drink to passing out.

that is one interpretation of Romans 7, certainly not the only one. The Law led us to Christ. The Holy Spirit now reveals sin.

I can imagine that when He said “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!" Matt 23:37
Every time I have read this, I can almost feel the sorrow and struggle in the words of JESUS....the empathy and yearning of JESUS for his people, his city and his nation........Kind of like when we get tragic news over a loved one....we just shake our head and can feel the sorrow.......

Workers for attempting to climb the mountain of works to salvation....will never quite make it......

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy has he saved us

woe to those who claim to Jesus is their Master and Lord, but willingly choose to obey His enemy and continue to live in sin. There will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth when he Returns. Those who obey Jesus, Namely those who Love One Another, will be taken up with Him. Those who choose to obey His enemy continually will be left behind, and it does not matter what doctrine they hold on to, that is the TRUTH.

Hey the self proclaimed prophet that JESUS will reference in the day of judgment, call his CC name and use his words to judge the lost came back preaching something that no one here espouses....
Do you know who else doesn't like what i teach above? Those who LOVE TO SIN, and are not willing to cease from them.

Tell me dcontroversal, what did i say above that you disagree with? What did i say above that is contrary to Scripture? If what i say above is TRUE, why did you say what you replied?
IF God were in you, would you not LOVE me? It seems you have nothing but contempt for me, and continually say things to try to offend me, where is your Love?
Can you find one thing that i have said, anywhere at all, that attacks YOU personally? Can you? Yet you continually do so to me, why is that?
If what i teach is evil, if what i teach is false, then why have you not shown everyone on CC one thing that i have said that is contrary to any Scripture? Why?
i will tell you why, because the TRUTH i teach, which i plainly give credit to whom it belongs to, which is God, is what YOU don't believe, yet is not contrary to anything in Scriptures. You disagree with what i teach, NOT because is is contrary to God but contrary to YOU and what YOU believe is the TRUTH. So then do you think it is a Godly thing to Judge me as false based on what YOU think? i still love you brother. i know, you desire to ban me, you may find a false reason one of these days, but until then, i will continue to teach what God told me to teach, but maybe one day you can put a stop to that.

John 7
24, Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Matthew 7
1, Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2, For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3, And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4, Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5, Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Romans 2

1, Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.
2, But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3, And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4, Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5, But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6, Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7, To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8, But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;1
10, But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:2
11, For there is no respect of persons with God.
12, For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
13, (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Only God's Word is true....
Amen, and what are Righteous Judgments? What the Word of God says and teaches. The Word teaches:

Whoever knowingly commits sin is of the devil (I John 3:8)
Whoever does not Do Righteousness is NOT OF GOD. (I John 3:10) So whoever chooses to do something that is UNRIGHTEOUS is not of God then.
Shall we continue to live in sin? God Forbid NO!!!!!!

Now those who love to live in sin, and continue to live in sin, and have no desire to stop sinning will most certainly disagree with what i teach, And those who are the most adamant about it, are more than likely those who are living in the most sins.
What? Those who love to sin are going to welcome someone who teaches AGAINST sinning? i say nay, they will not like anyone who teaches against what they love to do, and make excuses for their sinning. Reprobate minds they are, living in sin, and still calling Jesus their Master even though they don't obey Him.

Let the Word of God (not me) judge this generation. OH, and He will Judge them. Jesus said Why do you call Me "Lord" and not do the things which I say. Why does this generation call Jesus "Lord" and continually obey His enemy, and get this, thinking they are still OK and Heaven bound (due to some false doctrines they hold on to for dear life)?

Those who love to sin and continually do it are not believers Dave. A believer may commit a sin, but repents and asks for forgiveness. Holy Spirit is in charge, and He is awake and alert, and watchful.

Happy thanksgiving! This thread and all who post feels like home to me in some strange way. Enjoy the holiday peoples!

I do not know why these people do not understand this fact. A child of God can not live in sin, because he has been born of God. They deny the power of God to change a person when they do this.
