Not wanting to please yourself but wanting to please God.

Know this....God loves you right now just as you are. Thats it. He loves you!

He wants to help you grow and get better and better. We can all improve ourselves.

He wants to use you to help other people. You must love yourself in order to help others.

A Christian is one who does all they can to be like Christ. God has made us holy.

I am a Christian because he loved me then I loved him back. Because God lives inside of me.

Jesus said you will know them by their fruits.Their actions will speak about their faith or quality of faith. If they are acting like Christ they are with Christ,if they do not act like Christ then they are in error.

Only people who truly love Christ will act like Christ with no selfishness or arrogance.Jesus said if you do not obey His commandments you do not love Him.

Broadly, a Christian is one who places their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and his atoning work on the cross. Narrowly, a Christian is one whose life reflects the presence of Jesus in them.

It's not a sin to struggle. Read Romans 7, where Paul speaks about his great
struggle against the flesh. He's speaking theologically for all of us. He ends
the chapter in complete despair, but it's only a set-up for chapter 8, where he
declares that there is no condemnation for those in Christ, because the law of
the Spirit of Life has set us free from sin and death. Where Paul's strength
ended, Christ's began.

So essentially, if you live in the Spirit, the deeds of the flesh are being put
to death. It doesn't mean our walk is perfect or we never fail. But as we keep
our focus on Him, we are going to be transformed into His image and that
means that we will make progress. (2Cor 3.18)

Stand your ground (eph 6) and keep pressing into Him, and you can't help but
inherit the victory.

I know it’s easy to say we’re Christians because that’s what we feel and yes we are for someone who believes in Him but proving it is difficult. It’s not easy to be a Christian, for me this is the hardest job I could have…it’s a daily walk…daily fight especially with our own selves…it’s a continuous living in it, it’s like whatever good things you have started in your walk if you stop you’ll have to start from scratch again but I know I can’t do this on my own and all I can do is trust God to work in me every single moment. I’m not someone who participates whatever worldly things you can think of, but someone who is trying to please myself to be worthy in everyone’s eyes around me…to make myself proud and the people around me for who I am, but so funny that I’m still struggling getting this thing ‘til now( I should have got this already for a long time), which I think would make me proud of myself but wanting this makes my Christian life suffer. For the last 3 years I can only count the times I made it to join the Sunday meetings not because I wanted to but because my time won’t allow me to. In my first 2 years after I got saved you can always see me setting in the front row in every church meetings actively participating with them but as the years go…and now you will always find me sitting in the last row and get used by just listening. I decided now to have all the time I could have but I just find it so hard to start again… and so sometimes I felt I’m just Christian just by name…

I can empathize with u and ur question. I tend to ask myself the same thing; is how I live, pleasing to the Lord. I know that sometimes I'm not pleased; so He must not be. I want to think that I am a christian at/in heart, yet I still need a lot of work. Please let's remember one another in our prayers (to all who read)
God bless and keep you in all that you do and seek for.

Much love, Cha.

To answer one of your questions, I suppose there is a balance between serving the Lord and serving ourselves. I think we need to put the Lord first, though, since he is our guide.

A Christian is a child of God.

A child doesn't have pride.

A child trusts His Father's Word.

A child sings songs throughout the day without a good reason except he's happy.

A child depends on his Father.

A child wants to please His Father.

a child is best friends with his Father.

I was singing in the store today and filled with joy, I need to do that much more often.

Hi jangel,
I can see your dilemma and your struggle. This is the first point I wish to make. ( I tried to separate portions of your post but do not know how to do that so here goes. Quote from your post. " to be worthy in everyone's eyes around me... to make myself proud" this ideals are against Jesus. Firstly you do not need to be worthy in everyone's eyes. And you definitely do not want to be proud of your own achievements. Please be very sure of this. You are God's workmanship. Your job is to keep wanting Him in your life irrespective of how difficult it seems, Not my will but Yours of Lord.
Possibly you are following the wrong path. I say this knowing that most nearly everyone is following the wrong path and I too have been guilty as well. It is very hard not to go the way of the law.
Think very clearly about these things. Love fulfills the law. Do not follow the laws. how about if I used the old story. Do not think of elephants. (a law) what do you do, immediately you think of elephants. So stop the negative approach. Think love. How can I be God's hands today. Where you see help needed, help if you have the capacity. Of course you wont be able to save the world today. But God said, He will have mercy on whom He wants to so then this gives you options. If you show loving kindness to others you are doing God's work. This way you will also discover how Jesus is the Lord of time. If your heart really wants to so some thing but you feel you don't have time, Do it anyway. Somehow Jesus will make the time ok. HE knows you are on a schedule but Jesus will fix the other end so that you wont be late for whatever. You may be late by the clock but something will have changed the schedule. Just practise love, make your self available in all small ways as you live day by day and HE will be with you. Doing this, in love fulfills the law.
I have never stayed in a position of being assured. At those stages I become smug and need to be humbled. I think I am doing very welll and forget that it is Jesus working through me,not me or my strength.
I hope you find direction and comfort in these words
love
edwin

Today I bought some cherries and ate them in my car spitting out the pits as I drove. I remembered when I was a child and my uncle bought cherries we ate in the car and spit the pits out the window, I was so thankful and grateful for them and it was fun, they were a real treat that he didn't have to get for us. As an adult I can buy anything I want and have it any time I want and it isn't the same. I was thinking of this post and realized I didn't include a child is thankful and grateful to his Father.

As well as A child does what he sees his Father doing.

Perhaps a Christian is someone who believes in Jesus, and tries to live by his teachings.

Can I say I am a Christian? I call myself a Christian, but the Lord is my judge.

I like that response, yesterday I said to my brother someone claims to be a Christian and he said you mean he's not a Christian? And I said i'm not saying anything good or bad, in fact I claim to be a Christian, God knows if I really am or not.

In answer to your question, the best answer is loving God Our Father with all your mind ,heart, soul and streangth. And neighbor as yourself.
Being a christian is not so much in where, but what you do, and understanding that all you do is not by your power, but Gods gift , in Jesus,to you and in you, serving always.
More simply put, loving and living in faith.
In Jesus,God bless, pickles

true Christian is someone who tries to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. as a Christian we go through many trials and tribulations which in due time help us gain perseverance and patients. Professing Christ is just lip service and God does not accept wicked. Confessing is one key point to show that from heart know that Jesus is Lord and is commander of all things.

True Christians go through also what is called the B attitudes (Matthew 5:2-12). These blessed mean happy because in due time they shall receive a reward. These are not steps to show how to be a Christian but the Characteristics of a Christian and what a real Christ has or done.

True Christians is here to represent the Lord, we are to imitate His Image. Because as we do our Christian walk we show an example for God to people. Heck people might only see the true Jesus in you in their whole in tire life!!! So as we walk lets do what is right by the Spirit.

Now let your zeal burn like sun, let not darkness cover it. For if you lit the candle of your zeal, you surly want to do it right and have a full harvest of gladness and blessings. Now not to be too joyous that you have a zeal, don't get me wrong but I hope the zeal and fire that you have is in Jesus Christ.

:)
