Called “Destiny Reading Cards,” charismatics – some associated with Bethel Church in Redding, California – are engaging in what is essentially tarot card reading.

They call it a “reading” and refer to the program as “Christalignment.” They don’t do “predictions,” but they will help empower your destiny rather than control it. Using what is essentially tarot cards, they do a “reading” about relations, jobs and issues to help people “make better decisions in the future.”

article

so it seems anything goes Bethel is at it again

just when you think you have heard it all.....:(

Never heard of it but it sounds very dodgy.
Maybe they are trying to mimic the concept in the bible of drawing lots.
Story of Jonah for example.

If I’m honest I’ve never really understood the concept of what amounts to biblical
dibs.

We have the Holy Spirit now though, don’t we. No longer a need for drawing lots.

It would be interesting to see what Bethel, itself, has to say about that. (Not Jan Hodge)

About 10 years ago there were Churches doing what they called the "disciple walk" and it was some type of Greek mystery religon thing, I do not remember the name of it, but I do know it was not and had nothing to do with Christ just as this non-sense.

It never surprises me about people who want to be called by the name of Christ by adding the "ian" to His name, they will follow anything that they fell like and always have a problem with people that sudy the Bible to know the nature of the Lord and all Christians are to be one and should be one. Not by having a certificate for it, but by their knowledge of the Lord's word, they are theologians or one who studies God.

All these types of things fall under the idea, "it is spiritual" that somehow being spiritual has something to do with Christ when it does not, it has to do with any spirit. Even those that are not of Chirst, but more in line with anti-christ, very sad, but it falls in line with II Thessalonians 2:3-4

“Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.”

1. I love the word "dodgy" :)

2. Just from this post I'm going to look into this - I'm getting that feeling that this could catch on like a pandemic.

tarot cards are occult...all occult practice forbidden in scripture

yet the move today is towards consulting 'prophets' that are really no more than mediums

spiritual gifts are supposed to be for the building up of the church...or body of Christ...not for giving out words like a fortune teller ... yet people line up to 'hear' from God... as if they had no hope of hearing from Him themselves

IMO, considering the dependence upon so called prophets these days, this would be a next step scenario for some

sorry...but NAR is one of the worse roads a person can venture down IMO

Not surprised that these groups are invlolved in this dark witchcraft type thing.

Especially Bill Johnson and Bethel Church.

There used to be someone on here who defended that wolf saying "I've been to his church, he's a godly man!!!" and got angry with everyone for exposing him. As if the person's opinion that "he's godly" erases all the error and shenanigans.

Yep. Sure he's alright and godly. A person's personal vetting of someone doesn't supplant Scripture. Many are deceived by him (and other false ministries!) It is sad. :(

I am on pastoral staff at Bethel Church in Redding, California, where I oversee the Creative Arts department for the Church and School of Supernatural Ministry. I instruct on worship expressions and arts events within the church, as well as strategy and coordination for city transformation and outreach.

I have been in pastoral ministry for over 25 years. I earned my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Biblical studies from Vanguard University, and also have received a certification in Arts and Healing from Chapman University.

Theresa Dedmon
from her personal site

and from her book
Born To Create: Stepping Into Your SUPERNATURAL destiny

“Supernatural creativity can impact people who are coming to your church for the first time. During the school year, I have the School of Ministry students sit at Bethel’s welcome table and prophesy to newcomers through destiny cards

there it is right there. Bethel's welcome table

Hmmm.

In light of the previous post above... anything they say would be very telling.

And just to be fair:

what is really going on here, is the op saying HIS truth is truth and he will prove it by calling others heretics or blasphemers or false teachers/prophets

why is it so twiddle dee dee difficult to post threads that are GOOD and have something GOOD to say

the model here seems to be 'let's rip apart everyone in order to prove how aw gee whiz shucks perfect we are'
Yesiree, there we have it folks, looks like we have ourselves another "heresy hunter thread." Malign everyone else to make oneself look good, right? Yes, of course, and spoken directly from the horse's mouth. But you know, it's all good unless someone else does it, then go on the attack and tear them up for it.

There was one of these at Sam's this afternoon. The lady was telling the couple if they drink this protein juice in a few weeks their joints would be 10 years younger.

We went clear around the store and 15 minutes later she was still trying to sell it to them. :D
