How did they get on your site? I have been on the computer for years and years, and never reach a porn site. It might have to do with what you google?
Sometimes there are little ads that might be leading to those sites, but unless you know the website, don't.
As for blocking them, have you cleared your cookies? Or ask a tech person.

maybe you need to change your wall paper....
thats what i did
if you feel tempted
set your phone/tablet down
or walk away from the keyboard
rely on God to be delivered from temptation in the moment through prayer
probably more helpful than a blocker you could just deactivate

i think its best to try noticing when that first temptation comes
lust or anger
or selfishness
what ever it is thats popping in your head
and desperately beg God to break it from you in your head or outloud if you have to...
i have to do it when i get tempted to get angry at work
or when lusts creeps in
nothing else has helped as much as constant prayer when faced with temptation
at least with me

I use Ad Blocker. Cuts down on many. Hubby has Ad Blocker and Ad Blocker +/Plus
They're that good, Joi. Somehow they know if we're male or female, (tracking), and don't bother the females... unless the females went to porn sites. (At least I'm guessing that last part. I've never been hit with porn sites either, but I'm old and female, so have trouble remembering younger women can get into it too.)
I've been dealing with a porn addiction for 14years now and strangest things can trigger it and it doest have to be sexaul at all. My mom said shes willing to do a password based app but im not sure which ones work or how much it costs

You believe you can't control it. And to try and fix that, you think locking yourself away from it, and the 'challenge' of self-control will help. I'm sure it will help, until that block is gone.
What you need to do, is plan to remember 'how you feel' when you engage with self-control. Write it down. Observe the truth. See the truth. Likewise, write down how you feel when you lose self-control. I'm sure comparing the two you will see one is better than the other. But not just that, that it is possible. When you realise, feeling good was way better than not feeling good, then you are more able to not control the habit, but form a new and more healthy habit.
Every time you engage with self-control, you are learning self-control. Faith keeps you going in that sense. I believe you can do it, all you have to do is start. And if you fail, start again, keep going, keep standing up. You can get there.

Before you react (trigger) on something, press the stop button and observe what is actually happening in your mind. That is self-control. Connect that with the consequence of the choice you are about to make, compared to what the consequence was when you did the right thing, and you will more be able to make the right choice.

The question is how serious are you about sorting out this habit? If I wanted to be a doctor, I wouldn't just say I wish I could be a doctor, or pray to God I want to be a doctor, and magically I would wake up a doctor one day. I would go to university or whatnot to be a doctor. So if you are serious about fixing the problem, firstly, observe that you have a problem (assertively, not emotionally charged), take the emotional element out of it so you can observe what is happening, and then observe what you could do differently, or how you could 'react' differently. Show yourself that you do actually have more control than your mind tells you that you don't, and then you convince yourself that you don't have.
You actually have a lot of control, see that this is the truth, and always was the truth. Yes you might fail along the way, but does that change the truth? No, not at all, you just stumbled. Learn from it, ready for the next time. Learn nothing and you keep making the same mistakes.

Zone alarm is what we use now. I was recently hacked. Not sure how it happened but this person actually got into my computer on my Facebook, took it over and started moving things around. I called for my husband, and he disconnected me from the 'net.
This person could of got bank info. Fortunately I saw it happen. Was shocked.
Not the same same kind of problem but would be a great help.

I know Willie_T counsels men struggling with lust and has been recommending a book called, "Eyes of Honor". I've heard a lot of good things about the book.

Well Monnkai I use an app called "Dr. Safety" not only can you use it to ban indecent sites or specific indecent sites since it gives a ban level from kids to teens,but also "untrustworthy,glitchy sites" you can ban too depending upon what level of computer error type sites you will allow,for example some sites such as Facebook automatically are banned through this app depending upon child lock level choice or erroneously level choice,like for starters "child"level(considered age group 8 or lower) bans anime sites like daily motion,same as if you put the error level on high,and each time you or someone else makes changes to the child lock for whatever reason you must type in a password to do so,where as the error level you don't,but overall the app helps to "limit and stop" problems,because if you go to a site whether intentionally or unwittingly and it is either explicit or could damage your computer/device,then dr.safety(a red puppy dog,appears and tells you can't access it for some reason,hope this helps.

When he said "ends up on porn sites" as if it were happening To him, he was being sarcastic. He's a porn addict.
Ads are mostly a reflection of what sites you visit, your phone can track your location and see what businesses you frequent and that affects ads. If you have gmail you'll find the subjects you write about end up in ads you see within days.
When my last relationship ended and my Facebook reflected my being single I started getting dating app ads on fb.
Deleting cookies wouldn't help him either. Cookies simply allow sites to track you on the internet to see where you go and what kinds of things you buy, as well as some other info.
I didn't even know they still made Zone Alarm haha. It was huge 20 years ago.
But you're talking about a virus protection app. This won't help him. And he likely has one already.
By the way, if someone was doing that to your computer, it's a virus that allows them to. Virus protectors don't stop 100% of viruses.
He's not talking about his computer being taken over, cookies or ads, he's talking about his addiction.
Yes, after Willie recommended him I watched a couple of his videos and I truly think he has the right approach.
I guess blocks and behavior modification has it's place, BUT IT IS NOT FREEDOM! I think either Willie or myself gave Monkai this before, but here it is again. WATCH it. Pray on it. Put it into practice.

Actually unfortunately this can happen even when searching ordinary stuff,for example while looking for more Christian Chat type sites I stumbled on an indecent site that was right next to a Christian Chat type site,and a few times while looking for a simple chat site or dating site I've come across sites that are all about no dating just getting together,really got on my nerves,so glad I found this site and some others similar to it where I can talk to people and not worry about the whole dating drama,or silly getting together nonsense.
