I have defended you many times before sis, I can not on this matter. If satan himself wrote a book, It would not matter if the subject matter was great for our viewing and even applicable to us. You don’t support the book, you find another book which may say the same thing, by someone who has not tainted the name of God.

Many of us have read Joel o's book. I read it twice trying to figure out why it was being praised by so many.

You aren't really discussing the bible in bible forum JM. You are trying to lead people to certain men and to WOF. You keep talking about discussing but you don't discuss. You just mostly copy and paste WOF teachings. Its apparent that we might need to rethink whether WOF could be classified as a cult rather than just very backwards teaching, based on what you keep doing here.

Proverbs 18:13 "He who gives an answer before he hears, It is folly and shame to him"...

I say that to anyone who tries to answer before he hears. Including myself. I've had to learn to do the same and yes., it is not always easy but it is a must EG.

Yes it is, I agree, We have to hear. But some people we should just plain stay away from. If we can not find another person to say what they said to support what we think, then maybe we better find out why..

True. It's like, I don't have to read a book by Mike Murdock, Creflo Dollar, Peter Popoff, Robert Tilton, or Kenneth Copeland, to know it's trash.

When an author preaches trash, he'll write trash.

Cmon Joanie, that verse doesn't apply here. Tell me, if I post the koran, or writings of Buddha, Wiccan texts, or a thousand other heresies can I use that verse to apply it to you?

I read that book 11 years ago.

Granted, I don't remember the specifics of it, but what I do know is that just because it has some biblical values in it, it does not make it something that is spiritually profitable.

Keep in mind that even satan and his demons know scripture, and satan has even twisted scripture to tempt Jesus in the past.

Wolves in sheep's clothing....

Any one can pay a man to write a favorable book review....

Not asking you to reread the book Stunned., am asking you to listen to the less than 10 min. review by Ron Saunders. And since you still can't figure out why the book was liked by so many., maybe Ron can help in the matter. Ron is breaking it down as to why it's not a heresy book. Many have already proclaimed it to be without reading it. Simply because of the author who is also not a heretic who they have already claimed him to be. (hello)

This is true, But most authors have some semblance of truth, one must remember, satan comes as an angel of light.

A person may write on a particular subject and be 100 % correct in it, even though he is pretty much wrong in everything else he says or does. Does this mean we support his one book? Or find another person who says the same thing, yet is more representative of God. Thus more trustworthy. And worthy of our dollar.

Reviewing anything by Joel Olsteen is like reviewing the Sanhedrin's logs on what did happen to Jesus' body and how did they end up seeing him again after he was dead.

Why bother reviewing something when you know the something is full of lies to begin with?

Common sense!

Funny, you have lots of time to keep finding out more about the heretics, but not enough time to read Job, as-is.

Did you know the name of this forum is "Bible Discussions?" It is not book reviews. It is not promote the heretics. It is not revise-threads-of-the-banned.

The one thing you will not do is the one thing this forum is supposed to be about -- the Bible!

Its just bizarre JM. You title the thread "Joel Osteen Book, you're Best Life Now.
Then you want others to read a review about the book.
Then you say the thread isn't about Joel Osteen at all and want to have a thread about a book review for a book you haven't read??
 
I'm sorry you guys. Not ONE of you has read the review and each one of you have gone off on tangents about other issues totally dis regarding the OP ... Until you listen to the review by Ron Saunders you are not answering the matter I brought up in the first place.

It most certainly does have to do with here. You guys are too funny!! Just too funny how you cannot even give a listen for less than 10 minutes. But you ALL so far can go off on tangents about a topic I'm not even thinking about or asking questions on or discussing in THIS thread. Stay on topic folks. If you learn how to "fish"., not one will have to bring you fish each day. What I am saying is Learn how to LISTEN... it's a lost art.

Sometimes yes Depleted. Sometimes it can be as simple as that to begin to learn how to hear a person out who you would not give the time of day to otherwise.
 
i dont feel much like pointing my finger at osteen

but what i heard from him wasnt biblical (maybe 20 minutes of youtube videos)

and the 4 people i know personally who "enjoy" his teachings deny many things in the bible are true and claim the bible has errors and is written by man so i will continue to avoid him

I thought it was not a good or profitable book JM. Why would I then read a review about it? You titled the thread Joel Osteen book, Best Life Now, and want others to read a review about his book, but say the thread is not about Joel Osteen, even though the review is about his book and defending it.

Can you not see the oddity in that? It would be like me wanting to have a thread about...oh, never mind.
