Hello Gandpa, nice you see you again my friend.

Seems no matter how many times anyone shares with you that they BELIEVE we are not saved by the works of the law and are ONLY SAVED by GRACE through FAITH and NOT of ourselves; it is a GIFT of GOD and not of works lest anyman should boast you disregard it.

Now my friend, if we are in agreement on the above then you have no argument. If you have no argument and we are all in agreement then what are you arguing about as we all believe the scriptures posted here.

What is being shared here as stated many times already is that if your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE to God's WORD then you are still in your SINS because you have NOT accepted the GIFT of God's dear son. If your tree has no fruit then it will be cast down and thrown into the FIRE (Matt 7:12-23; James 2:18-20; 26)

Galatians 3:10-14
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Indeed because all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God, we are all sinners in need of a Saviour. You did not finished this however....

31, Do we then make void the law through faith? GOD FORBID: YES, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW

2 Corinthians 3:7-11
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
Indeed, if we WALK in the SPIRIT we will NOT fulfill the lusts of the FLESH ....

Romans 8
1,
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2, For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
3, For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: <WHY?>
4, That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
This is what is being shared here. Sin is breaking God's LAW (Romans 7:7; James 2:9-11; 1 John 3:4) If you are following Christ you will not be continuing in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN. We are no longer under the CONDEMNATION of God's LAW because we have forgiveness from SIN and are now free to FOLLOW Jesus through faith in his WORD because we LOVE him

Romans 1
5, By whom we have received GRACE and apostleship, FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his name.

Romans 6
1, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. 2, How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

John 14:15
If you LOVE me keep my Commandments.

Galatians 2:19-21
19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
Indeed wornderful scriptures. We are not saved by what we do but by FAITH in God's WORD.

2Pe 1:4
Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Romans 3
31,
Do we then ABOLISH THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YES, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
The yoke of bondage here spoken of is SIN. As Jesus says....

Joh 8:34
Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin.

Romans 6
14,
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace.
15, What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16, Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
17, But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18, Being then made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness.

Why do false religions point back to working at the law? Don't they know we can read? They have to print their own bibles to twist the meaning of scripture in order to promote their law-keeping false religion.
No one is teaching anyone here to follow God's LAW to be saved as we are ONLY SAVED by GRACE through FAITH and NOT of ourselves; it is a GIFT of GOD and not of works lest anyman should boast so you have no argument as everyone here is in agreement.

The False religion however is the one that teaches that we are saved IN SIN and that if you CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN you will still enter the KINGDOM of HEAVEN. This is the very first LIE told in the Garden of Eden to EVE by the farther of lies. Those who teach such things teach against God's LAW and the prophets. This is something Jesus or the Apostles never did.

SIN is the transgression or breakin gof God's Commandments (Romans 7:7; James 2:8-12; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Endoscopy was talking about modern language and in today's English, murder is premeditated killing.

Murder: verb
1.
kill (someone) unlawfully and with premeditation.
"he was accused of murdering his wife's lover"
synonyms: kill, put/do to death, assassinate, execute, liquidate, eliminate, neutralize, dispatch, butcher, cut to pieces, slaughter, massacre, wipe out, mow down;

If someone is killed in a car accident, it is not murder because it was not deliberate or premeditated.

I am afraid that what Moses did was both deliberate and premeditated. It was murder.
Acts of war are not murder.

not my interpretation, rather "if we go with" and following on
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the penalty of the law.
isn't the correct interpretation of that verse, either
Those who break God's Commandments do not have God's Spirit or do they know God...

Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God has given to them that obey him.

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 3
3,
And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whoever abides in him sins not: whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

[h=1]Romans 7:7 King James Version (KJV)[/h]7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

how you explain this verse mean numbers 15:32-36 not valid anymore?

Please, just so I can understand your preaching here.

I said:

You said:

Then I responded, not with my Word's or my thoughts, or some ancient religious custom, but the Words of the One who purchased me.

A direct command from the One who purchased me.

Then you reply with this.

I am curious how you made this determination given the scripture I posted.

Didn't Jesus instruct me to Labor?

28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

So isn't Jesus saying in Ex. 20 that we have 6 days in which to do this labor?
when a person is redeemed, they no longer belong to themselves

their labor belongs to God
their house, car

led by the spirit, doing all in the name of the Lord

Your summary with pointing to scriptures and definitions from the koine Greek would have done the job. Do you understand the difference between ancient Greek and koine Greek? When Jews use a language they bring in Hebrew phrases and concepts thus altering the language. Yiddish today is German with this added to it.
good points

also, two authors may use the same word differently

John isn't very good at greek grammer-
should one assume he had a great grasp of vocabulary?

the rules written on the heart, not the ones on stone

does God lead Samuel to be deceptive here?
1 Samuel 16: 1. And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. 2. And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he Will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD.

if God is leading us, we won't be breaking his rules

can you specifically show the verse that numbers 15 is not valid annymore?
this the verse you suggest dear
Indeed it is a Shadow law Col 2:14 pointing to the Judgement to come at the 2nd Coming where the wages of SIN (breaking God's Commandments) is death. Read the OP here...

BOOK OF THE COVENANT IS A SHADOW OF THE NEW

Col 2

14, Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

14, BLOTTING OUT < G1813 ἐξαλείφωexaleipho (ex-a-lei'-fō) v.means to rub out, i.e. obliterate, erase>the HANDWRITING < G5498 χειρόγραφονcheirographon (chei-ro'-gra-fon) n.means
something hand-written (“chirograph”), i.e. a manuscript specially, a legal document > of ORDINANCES < G1378 δόγμαdogma (d̮og'-ma) n. meansordinance;civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical laws>that was against us, WHICH WERE AGAINST US, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

v14 reads the handwriting of the ordinances that were against us; God’s LAW written on stone (10 Commandments) are not the handwriting of the ordinances written in the book that were against us. The ORDINANCES referred to here are those written in the Mosaic book of the law that were against us. Not all the book of the law was against us. Those laws that pertained to righteousness were not against us. God’s LAW (10 Commandments) let us know what SIN was if we disobeyed them.

The Ten Commandments are not against us only the statutes and judgement in the Book of the Law in relation to when we sin were (the judgements and penalty for sin the curses for sin).

DEUT 31 [26] Take this Book of the Law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there FOR A WITNESS AGAINST THEE.

DEUT 30 [19] For GOD has said, I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, BLESSINGS AND CURSES: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: [20] That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest OBEY his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

CONTEXT of the 2:16-17
is the CIVIL, CEREMONIAL AND ECCLESIASTIC laws contained in ORDINANCES that were against us. This is referring to the penalty for SIN as well as the fulfillment of the Mosaic laws for remission of sin that all pointed to Jesus (shadow laws). Together these were fulfilled in Christ and nailed to the cross.

...................

KILLING THE COMMANDMENT VIOLATOR IN THE NEW COVENANT

Luke 17
26, And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27,
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28,
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
29, But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30, Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 10
26,
For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 6
4, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6, If they shall fall away, to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7,
For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes oft on it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:
8,
But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is near to cursing; whose end is to be burned.

2 Pet 3
3, Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5, For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6, Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7, But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved to fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Rev 14
7, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
8,
And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9, And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and rec
eive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

2 Pet
4, For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved to judgment;
5, And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly;
6, And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample to those that after should live ungodly;
7,
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8,
For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds
9,
The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust to the day of judgment to be punished:

to many more scriptures you get the picture...

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
how you explain this verse mean numbers 15:32-36 not valid anymore?
This is one of many scriptures telling us that SIN is breaking ANY of God's 10 Commandments.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).
do you have a list of which rules are not part of the civil laws of Israel?

amen

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

and that's the test
is it beneficial?
dots it edify?

It is not important we are living in the NEW COVENANT. Although it is true that if you do not understand what the OLD Covenant is you will not understand what the NEW Covenant is. Do you know what makes up the OLD Covenant what laws are forever and what are the shadow laws?

you can compare Under the law in Romans 3 to Galatians 4 if you wish

but it's a different set of words

it doesn't seem like a good idea to me
Different set of words or not does not change the interpretation of Romans 3 which is those who are "UNDER THE LAW" are those who are condemned by the LAW for breaking it.

SIN is the transgression or breakin gof God's Commandments (Romans 7:7; James 2:8-12; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

Hey Dan,

Just from my reading portions of this thread on and off since its inception, I would hazard to advise that if you don't know the difference between the Sinai covenant and the covenant of Christ crucified and risen, you should ask maybe Jackson about it, NOT lgf or studydude. ;)

Why would you ask Jackson? He is confused about both Covenants. Do you know what the Old Covenant is?

If you do not how can you know what the new is? If you do not work out your own salvation there will be fear and trembling. It will be a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God for those who reject God's word.
