Perhaps we can understand God's will for our lives and learn discernment. However God is too great for us to completely understand.

.should we do God's work only one day a week or every day?
What has this got to do with your OP? Your OP is God's SABBATH is EVERDAY and you have provided no scripture and are trying to talk about anything else accept your OP.

...............

Now please where are your scriptures that support your OP?

Where does it say in God's WORD as you claim that God's SABBATH is EVERYDAY?

Where does it say in God's WORD that God's 4th Commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep SUNDAY as a HOLY DAY?

WHO are you following God's WORD or the teachings of your Catholic heritage?

................

SIN is the breaking of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4)

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12).

If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if
we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Lightbearer we are talking past each other. I believe we should learn to cease from our own work even now and do more and more of God's work every day.

If we work we should work as if we are doing it for God, doing our best.

Anyway let's examine what Sabbath meant in the scriptures I posted and maybe we can figure out what we each believe and see if it's scriptural or not.

Jesus said that not one jot or tittle would pass from the law until all is fulfilled. So either all has been fulfilled (Matthew 5:18), or you are now responsible for observing every jot and tittle of the law. You can't pick out the parts you like and ignore the rest. Whoever breaks one commandment of the law is guilty of all.
INDEED this includes the 4th COMMANDMENT that God's WORD says is SIN if you break it.

First I would call people who preach the keeping of the Seventh day Sabbath to be honest with themselves and others.

1. Admit that you do not keep the Sabbath as God commanded in the Old testament and you are not able to because there is no tabernacle or Temple.

2. Admit that Jesus established a NEW covenant that did away with animal sacrifice and other shadows because He fulfilled the Law and nailed the requirements to the cross.

Doubt it will happen, but worth a try.
Now you mix up your COVENANTS and do not UNDERSTAND the OLD AND THE NEW.

Yes the study of Biblical Sabbaths and not just weekly sabaths is a long study but I believe it's worth it.

I don't know that many SDA in person, but like I said in the OP, the line I feel that some people cross is when they condemn others for either keeping the weekly Sabbath or valuing each day equally because as the Bible shows God is okay with either.
No one is condemning you dear or judging you. We are only sharing God's WORD. If you feel condemned then it is God's Spirit pleading with you to have a closer walk with him. This is God's blessing to you and all who have ears to hear and eyes to see. Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE another.

I have no problem calling Sunday "the Lord's day" because it's when we believe He was risen from the grave and the disciples found the tomb empty.

However I don't view the Sabbath as a "holiday" where you do nothing.

Sabbath is all about trusting God.

Jesus told us Not to worry about tomorrow. In those passages He tells us what it means to rest in God. He points to true Sabbath rest.
Yet here you are not having any scriptures to support your tradition.

Jesus says the "LORDS DAY" is the SABBATH DAY

MATT 12:8 FOR THE SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY

Yet you say "THE LORDS DAY" is SUNDAY. Where is your scriptures?

God's SAYS the SABBATH DAY is the 7th DAY of the week and it is a HOLY day;

Genesis 2
1,
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2, And
ON THE SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY from all his work which he had made.
3, And
GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, and made it HOLY <the 7th day>: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

links to

Exodus 20
8,
Remember theSABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the
SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11,
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT.

You say
I don't view the Sabbath as a "holiday"

Who do we believe God or you? Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE another.

Wow...folks are so devote to the Old covenant they want to stone people?....
Not going down that rabbit hole. Gonna focus back in the Bible and go clean my house and pray for a bit.
Well that has no truth in it. Some believe all of God's WORD and that ALL scripture in given by inspiration of GOD and is profitable for instruction in righteousness (1 TIM 3:16) and the MAN does not live by break alone but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the MOUTH of GOD (MATT 4:4)

Where are your scriptures that support your tradition?

Gb9 some folks just want to cause strife....when people start slinging false accusations like we only believe as we do because of the Catholic church?....I just put them on ignore. Might read and respond when God gives me more time.
Ariel, you do know that SUNDAY worship has been handed down to Christianity by the Roman Catholic Church don't you?

This is the reason you many worship on Sunday and forget God's 4th commandment. It is the teaching and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. Those who follow this tradition are following the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church over the WORD of GOD.

LGF..., You have no patience and repeating yourself over and over again will not get me to dance to your tune.

God taught me how to study His word and it is not fancy. Its simple and by repetition as you would teach a child ANY lesson worth learning.

The first step is to read the passage and retell it in a manner that makes sense to you.this way it gets embedded in your heart and mind. Identifying what you do understand and what you need help understanding. Then praying and letting God help you.

God also teaches me that you need to repeat more than once the story for it to be embedded into your heart.

Why do you think God repeats His message over and over again throughout scripture?

I have already given you the scriptures you asked for but through your veil, you don't see or understand them.

Seems like Jesus and all the Apostles disagree with you Ariel and you have provided NO scripture to support your OP.

Only God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it. Not what they teach you in Sunday school or through someone elses interpretation of God's WORD. I repeat the next section of my post as a signature because SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM. Jesus does not want anyone to perish.

Please you have not posted any scripture so far in support of your Catholic heritage. Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW the WORD of God over the teachings and traditions of men.
LGF, have you ever heard of the Orthodox Church, Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox etc.
What day of the week do they worship?
Guess what it is Sunday!

Why Sunday?
Because they are following what was done from the beginning of the church.

You do know that the RCC could not have existed as you envisage it prior to the 11th century, do you not?
And yes the Orthodox church as we now know it did not exist either prior to this time either.
However, the church on which they are both based existed for ELEVEN centuries prior to this and for this entire time met only on Sundays!
The churches which later became the Orthodox Church because of early problems with speculative theology rapidly became very conservative and fixed in their ways and nothing has changed to this day!

Your silly propaganda that the RCC is responsible for Sunday worship serves only to highlight your utter ignorance, that ridiculous YouTube video you posted notwithstanding. Serves you right for believing everything from the RCC!

If the RCC is responsible for Sunday worship, how is it that Orthodox Churches, following in their tradition from the very beginning also worship on Sunday?

No doubt you will concoct an equally implausible theory to condemn the Orthodox Church....

is Acts 20 Scripture? is John the beloved a creditable source of information? because he said the Lord's day, but did not connect it to Sabbath. now John, a jewish man, would have certainly said Sabbath if he meant Sabbath.

One of the things I always found helpful is to go through the story and summarise what is happening and sometimes ask questions.

I love it because sometimes God places Bible verses in my heart and answers them. I am sure others have experienced this to.

So though I feel kind of strange doing this, I know my sister Stunned will read this eventually and love me through my faults, lol.

(yeah Mcgee I am procrastinating...lol maybe get a laugh if you ever read this)

1st reading Exodus 16

*****

4Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not. 5On the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather daily.”

After reading this the first thing I notice is that God is TESTING the people. The next is that this happens AFTER the people grumble and complain and say they want to go back to Egypt. They wanted to go back to slavery instead of follow God and accept His freedom.

Next thought was that Jesus is our Manna from heaven! So this is a shadow of a deeper spiritual truth.

Rain down from heaven, what does that mean?

So each day they are suppose to only gather as much as they needed but on the sixth day they gather twice as much. BECAUSE OF THE SABBATH.

That's the tie into the thread.

You know, you must think that everyone else are utter fools...
Go and read Matt 15:1-2 for the context!
Let's put the scriptures up for all to see...

The statement shared with you was that Jesus says we are not following God if we follow the traditions of men over the WORD of GOD.

Matthew 15
3,
But he answered and said unto them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4, For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.
5, But you say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift devoted to God, whatsoever you might have received from me;
6, And honors not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have you made the commandment of God void by your tradition.
7, You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8, These people draw near unto me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Yep these are the words of Jesus not mine. It is vain (GREEK; useless, unsuccessful, folly) to think your following God if you are following the traditions of men that break the commandments of God.

Only God's WORD is true and we should believe and follow it.

Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)
