Absolutely. Have said so numerous times here on this very thread! Again and again, I have said that we can do nothing unless we are saved and allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to do what He has purposed us to do. But, I guess I was wrong.....
However, I learned yesterday that these things are not His Will......so I am trying to determine exactly what they are.
I have been reading what other people think, and that is why I posted this list. Do you think it will simplify things if we understand what is His will and what isn't? That way, we can focus on what is important, and not concern ourselves with those things that are not His will. Is that right?
Well...in a sense, yes to your last sentence. God wants to change our thinking on many things and to judge rightly. If we are concerned with obeying Him and doing these outward things, but we are letting the heart matters go because other men can't see them, then we can feed a million hungry people and have done nothing.
I went to a friends church one day and the pastor asked if anyone had anything to say befor ethey got started with the service. One lady stood up and said her friend, so and so, had been in the hospital and no one had sent flowers. Another lady jumped up so fast I thought a bee had stung her. But what I was seeing was an ongoing bitterness. The one who jumped up, who was one of those in charge of sending flowers to the sick, went on (in some consternation) about how they could only afford to send flowers to those on the role. Those who were registered members.
Now the one lady was angry about her friend, who attended church sometimes, who she had submitted the name of, was not sent flowers. The other lady was angry that the first lady was hurt about this and brought it up before service.
The lady who is in charge of flowers to the sick, she is working, doing something for the church. Her anger (and you could see it all over her face and in her body language), but does God want that work from her and is that work of Him if she is murdering her sister?
And the lady who cares for a sick friend being shown love by flowers sent, does God care about her work when she is murdering her other sister in front of anyone?
So...does all their work matter? They're walking in their flesh and not in the Spirit and they have no idea they are murdering each other.
