Whoops I was wrong the Dove "was sent out" but I guess I was half right the first time Noah sent it out after the Raven the second time it came back with an olive branch.

I don't know if anyone has said this already, so just overlook my post if so.

We all are lively stones, building together the house of the Lord. Perhaps the Lord had this in mind when He spoke? Seeing we are children brought forth from the Rock! And so we do also. ;)

Also it says that eventually the dove didn't return anymore so actually it's more of like that eventually each bird found enough to sustain themselves over time.

Haha! I think you'll find this super interesting.

Genesis 8:6At the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made 7and sent forth a raven. It went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth.

The raven didn't have any problem, flying back and forth. Of course we see the words, "to and fro" which is exactly how Satan was described in Job.

But check out the dove:

9But the dove found no place to set her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her and brought her into the ark with him.

So we see the raven had a place to set it's feet, but the dove had no place to set her feet. Isn't it interesting they call the raven an "it", but the dove a "her".

Here's my thoughts: The dove refused to land on dead things, it wouldn't land on the people were floating in the water, etc. But the raven didn't mind. So it didn't need to return unlike the dove.

Now we know the Holy Spirit is likened as a Dove and what's interesting is that the Holy Spirit doesn't land on dead things either! That means you're not dead! You've passed from death TO life. And you're now made holy. We know this because the Holy Spirit wouldn't dwell/abide/unite with us if we were! We have been made alive, righteous and holy. And now His Spirit has a place for "her feet" in us. Not that He is a "She", but the Hebrew word for Spirit given in Genesis 1:2 is feminine, which is right before this passage in Genesis 8.

I do believe 8 is the number for new beginnings, I believe the Lord's Day IS considered the 8th day to many as well.

This one is tough, and not technically in the Bible so I'll tell you. But it's another great apologetics tool you can pull out to non believers.

Vitamin K levels spike on the 8th day, and apparently ONLY on the 8th day after birth in males. Vitamin K is a clotting factor necessary to help stop bleeding.

So how did Abraham know that? Trial and error? LOL
