OK. That makes sense now :D.

I heard a story about a guy who was absolutely clueless about clothing, so his wife laid out his clothes for him every time he needed to go somewhere. When it came time for her to go to the hospital to have her first baby she didn't have time to lay them out for him, so he came back from the fields and had to find something of his own and race to the hospital...and he showed up in one of HER blouses! Which I rather hope is an extreme situation, since I'd be very unhappy if my man was that inattentive to fashion :p
I would be more concerned if your man could fit in any of your clothes. Dudes are just supposed to be bigger.

Not always. Besides, I've got the thoracic cavity of a singer and arms of a milker. Most of my brothers would fit into a non-fitted shirt of mine...if it wasn't too short for them. But even that isn't a given; he might find a tunic of mine and mistake it for a sweater!! The possibilities are endlessly disturbing.

In all seriousness, Pipp has a great point about rejecting guys with socks and sandals. Men who refuse to listen to women who instruct them how to dress are not good catches. Men should always bow down to a woman’s superior intelligence when it comes to clothes. If a guy refuses to be dressed by me, I am not the woman for him. I ain’t marrying a man who wears blue with brown.
Actually you had it right the first time. Brown shirt with navy blue pants looks horrendous. But a brown shirt with blue jeans for some reason does not look bad at all. I'm not sure if maybe it's because we as a culture have accepted blue jeans with everything, but it does not look wrong.

As I am one of those, allegedly rare, men who actually can dress themselves, any woman who insists on picking out what I wear can go take a flying leap out the window. I have a better fashion sense than many of the women I know, and many women I know have vouched for that.

Sorry for my assumptions.

I'm living large, so I may be biased on my thoughts of male/female size difference.

I'm short, which I make no secret of. So it was a fair assumption; just misguided XD.

Says the man who admittedly wears toe shoes. Your fashion sense is suspect, I am afraid.

I don't like toe shoes...but I agree with you on something. I don't think women have to dress their men. I mean if the men want it, fine. But it seems kinda motherly to pick out the man's clothes. I would imagine that when women fall for a guy, the way he dresses has something to do with the way they feel about him? I dunno.

Also, I have heard many times that in marriage, men do not change even though women want them to. Women change even though men don't want them to. I don't know if it's true as I've never been married....but it sounds accurate.

Women I've dated quickly learn accept how I dress or be miserable. I dress for me and my comfort. If she doesn't like it she should've never got with me.
And if a woman has such a need to control a man down to his clothes I don't want her anyways.

My recommended course of action for women who think thus is in the post you quoted.

Though I know there are some men who have no fashion sense at all. My pastor is one of them, and we can usually tell when he got up and left the house before his wife got out of bed... because if she had been up when he left the house she would have said, "You are NOT going out dressed like that!"

But to think ALL men are like that? To insist that any and all men should let their wives select proper apparel combinations? Yeah, refer to my recommendation in my previous post.

If I saw you in person, I most certainly would find the comedy, but alas, no beauty in your foot gear.

My foot gear for church this morning:

They don't have toes, but they do have the same balance. That's the only reason I like toe shoes, and the reason I am wearing these right now, for the balance. To wit: The heel is not thicker than the toe. I can walk as though barefoot, with a NATURAL stride. And those shoes in that picture happened to go well with the shirt, pants and tie I was wearing.

There is a reason for everything I do, whether others see beauty, comedy, logic or pure tomfoolery in it.

And I again propound and heartily recommend the "flying leap" course of action to anybody who claims I should let anybody else pick what I wear.

I actually got a compliment on the shoes this morning at church. And the compliment was from a woman, not a guy.
