The one who claims Jesus did not send out His twelve Apostles before His ascesion has the onu on them to prove it from the scriptures.

Since I have posted the scripture from Matthew 10, where the twelve apostles are both named and sent out, then there is no scripture to refute and this is a closed case.

And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

5 These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, 10 nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. Matthew 10:1-10

again

Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.

4 “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”

6 So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by Him; and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead, 8 and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again. 9 Herod said, “John I have beheaded, but who is this of whom I hear such things?” So he sought to see Him.

10 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. Luke 9:1-10

Later others were commissioned as Apostles and sent out.

Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away. 4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 5 And when they arrived in Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. They also had John as their assistant. Acts 13:1-5

again

But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out 15 and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, 16 who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. Acts 14:14-16

But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother. Galatians 1:19

You are very arrogant for one so wrong.
If Jesus had sent the Apostles away to carry forth the great commission they would not have been gathered to witness together his ascension to the Father. They'd have been gone on the mission he'd anointed them for.

It is silly to assume your brash attitude and tone over Christ's anointing his Disciples to become his Apostles. I won't participate in that further. Believe as you wish to believe. And argue what you think.

It isn't an insult to observe you are arrogant while ignorant. Your attitude is offensive. And your exegesis is in error.

1cor:3:1-4 NIV 1Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?
They were branching off and starting there own churches. Sam Soleyn does not have a church, or congregation.

Gal:1:19 I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother. , Acts 14:14 , But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting. Roman 16:7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was. These are others, besides the twelve.
Still taking that first scripture out of context I see... and basically cutting and pasting scripture.

What exegesis?

I simply listed two sets of scriptures that plainly and irrefutably state that Jesus “sent out” and empowered His Apostles to preach the Gospel to the lost long before His ascension.

Just because the truth of God’s word has proven you to be in error, you attack me with insults and slander.

Both Matthew and Luke show this very elementary truth which you deny.

Everyone who is reading this can see this truth.

Matthew 10:2 "These are the names of the twelve apostles..." I understand that it looks that way because some of the apostles labeled others to be apostles, but they are not. An apostle has to be hand picked in person directly by Jesus Christ, no middle man. According to the qualifications that they created for choosing more apostles, Paul would have been disqualified. Only God, not apostles, can choose who can be apostles.

Apologetics Press:
THE QUALIFICATIONS OF AN APOSTLE
When one assembles all the relevant New Testament data, at least three qualifications emerge as prerequisite to one becoming an apostle in the official sense (Hayden, 1894, p. 33, expands these credentials to seven in number). First, an apostle had to have seen the Lord and been an eyewitness of Christ’s resurrection (Acts 1:22; 22:14; 1 Corinthians 9:1). Second, an apostle had to be specifically selected by the Lord or the Holy Spirit (Matthew 10:5; Mark 3:13-14; Luke 6:13; Acts 1:26; 9:15; 22:14-15,21; 26:16). Third, an apostle was invested with miraculous power to the extent that he could perform miracles. The power to perform miracles included the capability to confer the ability to work miracles to other individuals through the laying on of his hands (Mark 3:15; 16:17-20; Luke 9:1-2; John 14:12,26; 15:24-27; 16:13; Acts 2:43; 4:29-31,33; 5:12,15-16; 6:6; 8:14-18; 19:6; 2 Timothy 1:6; Romans 1:11; Hebrews 2:3-4). Jesus referred to His bestowal of miraculous capability upon the apostles when He promised they would be “endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).

"....Neither Christ nor the original apostles needs successors or representatives on Earth today. They continue to rule and reign over the kingdom through the work that they achieved in the first century, and that is preserved for all in the New Testament. Christ is now on His throne ruling and reigning. The apostles also are on the thrones assigned to them by Christ. To suggest that the apostles have modern-day successors is to discount and discredit the current rule of the apostles. Neither Christ nor the apostles has abdicated their authority or their current rule to any humans on Earth.

Additionally, the fact that Jesus declared that all twelve apostles would occupy thrones in the kingdom proves that Peter had no greater authority than the other apostles. The apostles were equal in their reception and wielding of the authority delegated to them by Christ. Yet the Catholic Church claims that the immediate successors to Peter were Linus (from A.D. 67 to 79), Cletus (from A.D. 79 to 91) and Clement (from A.D. 91 to 100). They agree that the apostle John would have still been alive throughout this period (see G.C. Brewer’s discussion as quoted in Bales, pp. 208-210). The doctrine of the primacy of Peter means that the first three of the alleged successors of Peter would have exercised authority over the still-living apostle John—who had been handpicked by Christ Himself! The very John whom Jesus placed on one of the twelve thrones would have been under the authority, knowledge, and power of three popes who had not been selected to be among the original Twelve! (see also Hayden, pp. 22-33). Hayden aptly summarized the New Testament position regarding modern-day apostles:

The thirteen apostles chosen, ordained and endowed by the newly crowned Messiah faithfully and fully executed their commission. When they entered into everlasting rest, the church was established, with all needful ministries to edify, extend and perpetuate it throughout all coming centuries. Then the extraordinary, which was necessary to found a new institution, was succeeded by the ordinary, which is sufficient to teach, regulate and govern the subjects of Christ’s kingdom according to the laws that went forth from Jerusalem. The revelation of God was completed. The word of faith is henceforth nigh every believer, even in his mouth and in his heart. The apostolic office ceased, and evangelists and pastors became the permanent teachers and superintendents of the church (pp. 33-34). "

No they don't. They started out as disiples. Just like the ones that follow them.
Timothy and Silvanus– I Thessalonians 1:1 and 2:6

Epaphroditus–Philippians 2:25. While the King James Version translates the word as “messenger”, the Greek word (apostolon) is actually “apostle”.
And there are others. There probably suppose to be twelve on the earth. But some forsake there calling and station themselves in a church, which disqualifies them. Hebrew 10: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching
It has nothing to do with going to church.

The same rebuttal then can be used for every post you've made. And every post I've made. Because that source has biblical proofs backing up the points being made.

And, the contributors to the articles on Apologetics Press are learned persons in Apologetics. Therefore, it is not just "an opinion".

In the late 1970s, there was a need to make available more scripturally sound and scientifically accurate materials in the field of Christian apologetics. The idea for Apologetics Press was born—an idea that soon became a reality. The necessary legal steps then were taken to allow the work to be recognized as non-profit and tax-exempt by both State and Federal governments. In 1985, Apologetics Press moved into its own custom-built, 11,000-square-foot building that was debt free upon completion. There are a lot of highly intelligent, highly trained, and well meaning people who are dead wrong in at least some aspects of their theology.

The scripture they list do not say that a requirement of being an apostle was that they had to have seen the Lord and been an eyewitness of his resurrection. If those requirements were legit, Paul was not an apostle.

Second, an apostle had to be specifically selected by the Lord or the Holy Spirit (Matthew 10:5; Mark 3:13-14; Luke 6:13; Acts 1:26; 9:15; 22:14-15,21; 26:16).
Yes, the Lord calls people to be apostles. It is one of the five equipping ministries in the church (Eph 4:11).

That applies to every Christian. The manifestation of the spirit is given to every man (1 Cor 12:7). (and since you're sensitive about it, I'm not being sexist... That's what it says. Although women are obviously included...)

Jesus referred to His bestowal of miraculous capability upon the apostles when He promised they would be “endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).
Every Christian is endued with power from on high.

The kingdom is not here yet. Christ will set it up when he returns to earth at the end of the trib. THEN is when the 12 will be raised from the dead, and receive their thrones.

I could go on...

There are apostles in the church today, along with prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers..

I'm certain that you could go on. There are no Apostles today regardless of what someone thinks or what someone chooses as a self-appointed title. There's a pastor in Philly that claims he's an Apostle. He's far from it.

As to Paul and your remark, maybe read about Saul. He meets the requirements that the learned men in the Apologetics Press article outline as what qualifies someone to be an Apostle of Christ.

I gave you scripture, but you don't believe it', even though it's in the Bible. Other Apostles.
Yes, other Apostles according to the writings of Paul.
There were 13 original Apostles of the Christ in that Matthias replaced Judas.
