I saw an undercover documentary..think it was 20/20 that showed the advatage of "beautiful people" over ,normal people" in different life situatioms...applying for jobs etc..hate to say it but it IS totally dictated to by society...

You don't pray away hunger, you eat and praying away sexual need is just as useless- you find yourself a husband or a wife.
God doesn't control your flesh but will help you in your need according to His will not yours.
Fasting is not about food or punishing your body but focusing on God to know God personally - if you can achieve that while feasting, the better.
Did Jesus get tempted sexually? not important, whatever was important for our spirituality was recorded so as to equip ourselves with good doctrine.
"..boys would be married at 14yrs.." it used to happen in the old age but not anymore because satan knows where to catch people, he pushes the limit upwards and brings in more demands including the character selection thing so that people would spend most of their time burning in passion and trying to pray it away and eventually fall into sin.
Even Paul was given a thorn in the flesh that he tried to pray away but God told him His grace was sufficient, so Paul lived and died with that thorn. We are saved through grace not by our own works of trying to pray away hunger, it doesn't work, it will not work.
David/Solomon thought with their hormones but God still loved them, even the disciples when they found Jesus alone with the Samaritan woman, they whispered amongst themselves in a way a normal man would, Jesus let it pass. Who am i to pray away my hormones?No man or woman can pray away their hormones, it's the way they are created.
YOU were the one that initially coined the phrase "pray away" so i used it in return..GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN US THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD..why do you think tgats in scripture? So we coukd try in our OWN strength to get through these tests and temptations ourselves? It shows us our NEED to rely on God..and getting married at 14..people then didnt live as long..and fasting..i agree with..not to subcum to hunger but sacrifice a need to become more disciplined and intimate with God..through PRAYER..and if we are obediant..we will not take a spouse UNTIL God gives us one which doesnt rely on our sexual urges..why do you think THAT is?
Lol..thinking in flesh is one thing but not necissarily a GOOD thing if we are christians since..Like i said before..we are supposed to be NEW creatures in Christ..its like people tell dirty jokes..its of the flesh and not right in Gods eyes..we DO sin and will continue to until we die..doesnt make it right..thats why Jesus "rebuked" those tgat talked falsly against the womam and SHOWED them a NEW way (His way) to look at the situation
The idea that God gives us spouses is just a new age thing, a human creation, in whole the bible, we have numerous examples of people marrying and being married, all of them were being driven by hormones. Moses worked for the father in law for 14 years, ample time to select the one who he was physically attracted to.
God has given each one of us what we need to go out there and find a spouse, the rest, God will take care- this is what we call walking by faith. We can not play God when we select good or bad character, for the character of a man is in their heart and only God knows and can change the heart of a man.
God gave Adam a spouse and not because he coukdnt control his hormones..no new age bout that..
Self control is a gift that God gives us (not all of us) as He deems necessary. Such gifts were mostly given to Apostles so that they can concentrate in spreading the gospel because they were appointed to do that, they were eunachs for the sake of Christ- the rest of us are left with the original creation, Catholic fathers and sisters are trying hard to be eunuchs but how many cases so far and still counting of a catholic father going after children?
Heart is tge heart..charector traits..temperment..disposition..kind..etc..or.looking for fruits of the spirit..they are OUTWARD manifestations of whats usually IN the heart..but..you originally said that if lust is there..charectoer doesnt matter..it will fall into place..i know a lot of marriages that got married driven by lust and ended in divorce...your theory doesnt hold water..

WE are called to witness.WE are like the apostles..God doesnt play favorites..if you ASK Him to help you control yoirself he will..especially if yoire not married! if you cant control your urges ..was married..your wife just had a baby..operation etc and couldnt have sex..you would go have sex with someone else cause you cant control yourself? Like the saying goes..if you cant control your hormones before marriage..you wont be able to do it after.ESPECIALLY after youve "tasted the frit and it was GOOD"..lol
Divorce is a different thing from what we are talking here and you can't judge people by saying their marriage was based on lust or not.
God says above all things the heart of man is most deceitful- IOW, don't be fooled by the character, in marriage, the hierarchy that God initially put in place is key; the wife submits to the husband and the husband loves his wife as if his own body- if this can be done, then God will work out the rest of the things including character.
