When you make claims you need to own them, you quoted scripture and tried to make it say that God desires to save everyone. But the Bible is very clear that God only saves His elect, the rest are all damned, you can't ignore half of the Bible and push your agenda by taking verses out of their intended context.
I affirm Scriptures and believe what they say: God desires all men to come to a knowledge of the truth and be saved. He stands at the door and knocks. That He does not force people to accept Him does not make Him the loser and liar you have made Him out to be.

Unfortunately, you come across as someone who refuses to take responsibility for what you say, and then attempt to project your errors and refusal onto others. Your problem is called dishonesty, and also denial. It showcases a poor understanding of Scripture, leading to erroneous theology. Maybe you would also like to tell me that as He was dying, Jesus did not ask for forgiveness for all who put Him on the cross, or that He was only desirous of those believers who put Him there to be forgiven for crucifying Him. It would fit in well with the rest of what you have presented to me

What is the matter did I strike a nerve?

At least a cruel tyrant is consistent, he strikes down those who oppose him, your God is morally ambiguous, not even trustworthy since He has favourites like a bad teacher.

The selection is based on the whims and fancy of a sometimes love sometimes hate God.

You construct a false God, in contradiction to His character and then to stave off criticism of the faulty depiction by saying God has every right to be this way.

The truth is that is not God, He does not select only some for salvation.
OK, so you don't believe the Bible. Now I know who I'm speaking with, this changes everything. I now believe that you are not saved and your not a true believer, all of God's people believe His Word. Anyone who doesn't believe His Word is not a true believer, I find it fascinating that one can profess to believe in God and then reject His Word.

I will pray for you if you give me your name, I truly believe you are lost so I feel an urgent need to pray for you. Please don't take offense to my suggestion, I have your best interest at heart and I'm more than happy to pray for you. Don't let your pride cause you to reject my genuine offer.

We are discussing Arminianism and Calvinism, every respected Bible Theologian and Scholar agree that Calvin did interpret the Gospel correctly. The debate has been raging for 500 years and more and more people are joining us Calvinists, because we are the most Biblically correct people.

There are millions of us but the majority of professing Christians are Arminian, the Roman Catholic Church is Arminian. Jesus warned us that the vast majority would be deceived and the true believers would be small in number. This gives us much comfort, knowing that we are the true remnant Church.

My church is not looking to fill the pews with "worshipers" we are only seeking the elect of God, we are not interested in offering the Gospel to everyone. We are only seeking believers to join us, we are not trying to convert or win anyone over to Christ. We believe all of Gods elect will seek out faithful Churches and join them. We make it hard to join our Church, it's only for the elect.

There's only one proper way to interpret the Bible and only those who God has elected will understand it, the rest are sealed for destruction and they abide in lies and deception. over 90% of professing Christians have been deceived by the doctrine of Demons, are you travelling on the narrow path or the broad road????

We know God loved the world. He hates no one, He loves some less (like Esau) as any relationship would cause (loving children more) but he hates no one.
If you believe that then you have been deceived by the doctrines of Demons, if you think God casts sinners into hell to be tormented in hell fire for all eternity love then I rest my case.

I can't believe you guys can come up with such heresy, unless you have been indoctrinated with the doctrine of Demons. How can you just ignore all of those many scriptures which speak about Gods hatred towards certain people.

Those who preach on the love of God and never talk about His hatred, are serving Satan. They are giving people the wrong message about who God is, God is love but He is also hatred. Go and study the whole Bible, don't just pluck out all the verses which speak about His love. Go and learn about His hatred and judgement of sinners.

In your Post #2,522 you stated

"God's Word is a living thing, He has given one message to mankind and that message is alive and powerful"

And then 46 minutes later you state in your Post #2,532 the Scriptures "don't apply to us in the 21st century".

Really ... seriously ... do you even think before you click the “Post reply” link?
You really don't have a clue what the scriptures mean do you???, it's painfully obvious you have never learned how to interpret scripture. The Bible should only be preached and taught by qualified preachers, I can see you have gone out as a rouge sheep and you are lost in your own perceived wisdom.

I urge you to find a shepherd who can teach you the baby steps so you can get off the milk and start eating some meat. If you think all scripture applies to us in the 21st century then we need to start by stoning you for braking the Sabbath.

Please drop everything and find yourself a shepherd, your adversary is roaming around like hungry lion. It's only a matter of time before he get's wind of your scent.

In rebellion to what???

According to your dogma, they're doing exactly what God created them to do so they're more faithful to their "calling" and "election" than you are.

Since (according to your dogma) they are doing exactly as God created them, and you just can't seem to stop sinning (even though God has given you the means to do so), maybe you're the one headed to the lake of fire ...
Another text book error on your part, some serious Bible study is required my friend. God never created anyone to sin, they choose to sin all by themselves. They know God exists and they know the 10 commandments, but they choose to break the commandments and rebel against God.

Those who God leaves in their sin are the same as the elect, but God choose to save His elect. I sinned more than most reprobates, I continued to sin for many years after I was converted but God kept drawing me back to Himself. He doesn't do this for the reprobate, He juyst leaves them in their sin and they continue to sin until judgement day.

So I rebuke you for accusing God of being the author of sin. The fact that He chose to save anyone is the greatest miracle of all, we all deserve hell but He choose to save some of us. So you are sinning by accusing God of unfairness

No, the verse is not merely "an observation"

The verse is a statement of encouragement to those who face temptation.

You know, like you when you gaze at scantily clad women and lust after them in your heart.

Romans 6:21 asks a very pertinent question:

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof you are now ashamed?

Some believers are able to endure temptation as the Holy Spirit brings to their memory verses such as James 1:12 and they hold fast to God's promise.

It appears that you, on the other hand, prefer to revel in those things whereof you are now ashamed rather than focus on James 1:12. You won't even ask your pastor to explain it to you so you can overcome temptation. smh …
You are a great big liar, where does the Bible ever say that any true believer can endure temptation without falling. All true believers fall into temptation, every single day. We can't get through a single day without sinning, we can fight as much as we like and we can recite scripture all day long but we will continue to fall every single day for the rest of our lives.

The beauty is, Christ paid for all of our past, present and all future sins, so we have absolutely nothing to worry about. Our salvation is guaranteed no matter how much we sin, NOW THIS IS THE GOSPEL MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!~!!!

The problem with your argument is Arminianism has documents listing the verses supporting their viewpoint. The Apostles Creed was created in 312 with the earliest copy dated 390. The purpose of this Creed was 3 fold.
1. Define the beliefs a Christian must have.
2. Define anything contrary to it as heresy.
3. All of the diverse issues outside of it as agree to disagree.

There were many issues then as today where there are disagreements. Thus the many gospel preaching denominations.

This last includes the Calvinism vs Arminianism contraversy.
Discuss your belief but respect others Biblical point of view which is different than yours.
Agree to disagree!! There are denominations that adhere to Calvinism, others Armenianism, with others taking from both. Disagreements abound among true true Christians.

If you believe that then you have been deceived by the doctrines of Demons, if you think God casts sinners into hell to be tormented in hell fire for all eternity love then I rest my case.
If you think God can claim to be a god of love and just for no reason cast his creation to hell without giving them a chance, I rest my case that your God is not the God of the Bible.

As Jesus said to the children of Isreal. Oh Jerusalem Jerusalem, How ofted I WANTED to take you under my wing as a mother hen, BUT YOU WERE UNWILLING)

The people who will be cast to hell, were unwilling, To recieve His grace gift.

Dude, if you want to discuss the word discuss it. But if your going to come off with all these attack words which lends nothing to the conversation I will have to ignore you like I had a few of your calvinist friends who did not know how to have a conversation with anyone, and just attacked anyone who disagreed with them.

If you think all scripture applies to us in the 21st century
There you go again … in your Post #2,532 you made a blanket statement:

“Please don’t quote anymore scriptures, they don’t apply to us in the 21st century.”

which completely contradicted your statement in your Post #2,522.

And when you are reminded to please think about what you submit before you click the "Post reply" link, you respond with your tired, old ad hominem tirade ... yawn

Since you won’t listen to anything I have to say, perhaps your "pastor" can explain this to you.

What you claim is not "THE GOSPEL".

You left out the part about Jesus Christ being raised from the dead.

And you can ask your "pastor" about that, too.

May I remind you that it is the 21st century, God stopped speaking to us 2000 years ago. Please don't quote anymore scriptures, they don't apply to us in the 21st century.
S...,

While I can understand why He may have stopped speaking to you.......because I doubt He appreciates mutilation of His word.....your statement is wrong.

The Holy Spirit is alive and well and speaks to us ...who listen.

Please post a scripture that says "clearly" God saves only the elect.

Here is what my Bible says -

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

Your "gospel", which is not the Gospel, says this -

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that those who are elected to be saved should not perish but have everlasting life. Calvinism 3:16

Yours is a false gospel.

I am formulating the impression that ...Slayer...(note the name) ...is an atheist...or just an antagonist to the Christian forum community.

Very little .....if any...so far ....of his bible interpretations make any sense .....or have any semblance of meaning for the intent of G-d's word.

I have seen nothing that lends itself to a proper understanding of G-d's word........nothing.

I see a definitive element of miss leading ...on purpose.

I conclude his is part of his contributing to end time scriptures..........great deceptions will be present.

Jesus said it best when he rebuked Peter. Get the behind me Satan.
A great big fake having fun with actual Christians is a pitiable sight. That it can repeatedly personally assault members without censer is too.
Find another hobby unbeliever. In the end the regret will not be assuaged. Only the judgment will have its final word against all you've done.

I have been to many types of churches, Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, And studied many others (I read the book of mormon when I was doing a bible study with a mormon friend)

And I am confused. Baptists do not teach grace through faith? I know there were some who believe salvation could be lost (works) but for th emost part Every baptist church I went to taught grace, (I am retired military and lived all over the country)

Legalism is very prevelent. From the many sacraments of the roman church to the demoninations who just teach you must be good and be baptised. And while I have yet to see a licentious church, I have been told there are many of them.

Even biblically if we look at the NT, those are the three gospels being taught. From the Jews and their extreme legalism to the opposite extreme of the gnostic licentious beliefs.
Was raised Missionary Baptist and found a few things I disagree with as well......and within the ranks of Baptist I have found many "flavors".....Seems that General Baptists and Free Will peddle a losable salvation, Independent Baptists are very legalistic, Southern Baptists are selling out to ecumenicalism but teach eternal security, Missonary Baptists teach eternal security but place heavy emphasis upon church authority and who is and who is not a church....

Disclaimer...the above is based upon knowledge of the groups because og affiliation dia friends, family, experience etc. and by NO MEANS are exclusive to the groups named and or what they individually teach......just a sampling of what I have come to know by the people I know and interreact with!

Really?

Aren't you the one who stated:

"We believe God created certain people without the ability to come to a saving knowledge of God and respond by believing the Gospel."

Your statement that "[your] God doesn't punish people for something they had no say in" contradicts your statement that "we believe God created certain people without the ability to come to a saving knowledge of God and respond by believing the Gospel".

So is it now your claim that those who "God created ... without the ability to come to a saving knowledge of the God and respond by believing the Gospel" will not be cast into the lake of fire???
He is all ovet the mat.....He really should seek a new pastor that knows whet he is talking about.....just saying
