How were people saved before Paul came along then? How were they saved when Peter was preaching after the resurrection?

Matthew 28:19-20 is after the resurrection. We are to teach ALL Jesus taught (past tense, during His earthly ministry) to ALL nations. Not just the Jews. ANd not just what Paul taught.
Jesus told the man that was healed to see a priest and offer a sacrifice. Do we obey that?

Matthew 8
2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

Jesus taught on the sermon on the mount that if any man ask you for anything, do not refuse to give to the man and do not ask for it back. Do you practice this? If so, give me your car.:)

Jesus was standing ready to return and usher in the last days if the Jewish leadership would have received the preaching of Stephen. Instead, they stoned Stephen and Stephen asks the Lord to forgive them and lay not this sin to their account. In other words, give Israel another chance for they did it out of ignorance (similar to Jesus on the cross). The Lord would give Israel another chance to receive their Messiah, but would finally cut them off in Acts 28.
Sounds right,I will agree with you.:)

What about the thief on the cross?
Did he acknowledge and repent from his sins? did he believe in Jesus? or did he keep the law for Jesus to promise him paradise?

The thief on the cross had no knowledge of the death, burial and resurrection. He did not go directly to heaven but paradise, Abraham's bosom. Later, on the third day, paradise would be translated to heaven as Jesus set the captives free.

You clearly have no clue of what you are saying.

The thief requested Jesus not to forget him when He (Jesus) comes with His kingdom- this means means the thief believed in Jesus's death and resurrection.
Q. From where did he get the idea that Jesus is coming back with the kingdom of God?

Jesus did not ascend into heaven until the third day. "This day you will be with me in paradise" is a reference to Abraham's bosom.

Well im glad its somewhere atleast.

But isnt it a bit early to give such instructions? All of the guys who heard the sermon are long gone and the earthly kingdom still isnt here yet, why give the doctrine so earlY?

You did not answer my question. The man asked Jesus not to forget him when He comes in His kingdom, that alone makes it clear that the man believed in Jesus' death and resurrection.
My question is very simple, from where did the man get the idea that Jesus will come back with the kingdom of God if the gospel was not preached?

Where is Abraham?

In his last words, Jacob issued this set of instructions to them all: "I'm about to join our ancestors. Bury me alongside my ancestors in the cave in the field that used to belong to Ephron the Hittite. It's the cave in the field near Mamre at Machpelah in the land of Canaan that Abraham bought to serve as a cemetery. It's where Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried, where Isaac and his wife Rebekah were buried, and where I buried Leah.

Matthew 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Do you practice this? If someone punches you or your wife in the face, do you turn the other cheek? Is self defense allowed in the sermon on the mount?

I have an alcoholic neighbour who asks for drink or money with which to by drink and there is no way I would do that.
So what I try to do is to help her in a way that is beneficial to her. This is a win, win situation. But if you want a new car, you are going to be unlucky. Sorry pal.
----------------------------
There was something in the culture whereby one hand is clean and the other is not. If someone uses their unclean hand they will get themselves into trouble, so if you turn the other cheek they will be stymied because it will mean using the wrong hand which according to the culture of the day, they cannot do. I forget all the details.

Till the resurrection.
Correct, so the thief on the cross did not go to heaven until the third day, but was in paradise with the Lord in the heart of the earth.
