Here’s a question I want to see people’s answers too:

Explain how you fit 3 days and 3 nights into Friday sundown to Sunday morning?
You can't, because it didn't happen that way. That is an RCC trick pony. The actual crucifixion was on a Wednesday. He was then buried just before sunset. He was raised again just before sunset on Saturday. 3 days and three nights completed. :cool:

Oh, good grief! I have seen threads go on and on speculating about what kind of fruit was the "forbidden." It does not matter. All you can do is speculate. It's a moot point anyway as the fruit's symbolic identity is what's important.

I believe that the tree symbolically meant they would take on the role of deciding good from evil for themselves, rather than taking God's word in faith. I think is is the same sin Satan and his cohorts committed. :cool:
Interesting thought. In one form of understanding I see your point and if we were all hating and killing each other to get an answer, I would agree 100%. But I think everyone here is being very respectful.

1. The tree of Good and Evil is actually the source of our Yetzer Tov and Yetzer Hara (our good and evil inclinations) or spirit and flesh that we are told to work out every minute of our lives. It’s called choice. If Adam and Eve never ate from it, we would be only good for we were made in the image of G-d

2. What is truth and how does one acquire a “level” of truth? (Because we will NEVER know the unlimited truth for we are limited and finite beings). The only way one gets to truth is by CHALLENGING thoughts and questioning. That’s exactly how anything grows! Through trials, challenges and thought provoking. So Moshe, Yeshua, King Shlomo and Paul (along with everyone else) clearly tell us “man does not live on bread alone but every word that comes out of the mouth of the L-rd”, “too test everything”, “that ALL scripture is good for our souls”, “iron sharpens iron” and a ton of rebukes for those who despise wisdom in Proverbs.

Result. Anyone who doesn’t see G-d’s invite wisdom in the “simpliest” of text, and means to say “who cares we have Jesus”, we’ll I’Lo let King Solomon tell you what he thinks....

Great question! :) My answer is:

The Jewish day begins and ends at sundown. It begins in darkness and ends in light. When darkness returns, it begins a new day. So, 3 days and 3 nights would be:

Thursday Evening to Friday Day = 1 day (Jesus was crucified and buried)
Friday Evening to Saturday Day = 1 day
Saturday Evening to Sunday Day = 1 day(Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day)

Not bad at all. I like the answer. Well it’s partial there. I won’t give it away because I want Deade to provide his full answer if he will because he was 100% right. But your answer at least kills the Friday evening “Good Friday” to Easter Morning Sunday theology. It’s a good start.

Here is a clue. We obviously have to have a full day cycle or what else do we call the time in between sunrise and sunset? So a full day (Jewish and for all humanity from G-d) is the moment the sun is down, all the way to the next sundown. Remember, that the showing of the moon, marks a new day and why G-d made the command to sanctify the New Moon. This is how “Holy Days” were to be kept or festivals.

That is all well said, but you are leaving out the most important detail. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and will lead us to God's truth. All our assumptions and challenges amount to nothing, without the proper teacher. The god of this world will not let you discover the truth on your own. He will send hoards of people to convince you of lies. :rolleyes:

Here's a multiple choice question:

What were the three types of fruit Joshua and Caleb brought back after spying out the land of Canaan?

a) grapes, apples, bananas
b) figs, oranges, grapes
c) grapes, figs,
pomegranates
d) oranges, grapes, apples
e) None of the above
Without looking it up, I would say C, right?
Hello Deade, :)

Yes, you are correct! The answer is "c." :D(y)

I think the 3 fruits symbolized the fullness of God in the Promised Land:

Pomegranates = The Father
Figs = Jesus
Grapes = Holy Spirit

Also, Figs can represent the Jews (Israel) and Grapes represent the Gentiles. Pomegranates were in various places in the Temple - this is why to me they represent the Father.

Anyways, just me sharing my thoughts - no right or wrong - just my thoughts. :D:giggle:

Haha of course, sorry I left that out. But we have to do work too. We do the first half and G-d and His Spirit follow through.

You argue the resurrection was on a Sunday, but it was actually on a Saturday evening. Christ was buried just before sundown: and 3 days/3 nights add up to a just before sundown resurrection. Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday. The Romans said it was Friday because of the sundown Sabbath was approaching. But it says in John 19:14 it was the preparation day (crucifixion day) which is the day before the annual Sabbath of the First Day of Unleavened Bread. Ask any Jew what the preparation day is. An annual Sabbath is called a high day.

John 19:31: "The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away."

John 20:1: "The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre."

Three days and three nights raises Him on Saturday evening. He had already risen unseen by early Sunday. Jesus was talking with Mary saying he had not ascended to His Father yet:

John 20:16-18: “Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.”

John 20:19: “Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.”

Later that same day He appeared to His disciples and they could touch Him. That is when He told Thomas to touch His wounds and then He ate with them. So, we can say for sure the ascension was on Sunday. We are given a picture of His ascension as the wave sheaf day: [look up wave sheaf day for yourself] when the first fruits were waved before God as a tribute. This was always done on the first Sunday after Passover.

Before Sundown Wednesday – before Sundown Thursday – Day 1

Before Sundown Thursday – before Sundown Friday – Day 2

Before Sundown Friday – before Sundown Saturday – Day 3

Three days and three nights raises Him on Saturday evening before sundown. He had already risen unseen by early Sunday. :cool:

I agree with both of you because of the following scriptures:

1 John 2:27 King James Version (KJV)
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

and

2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

So, in conclusion the Holy Spirit is our Teacher (among numerous other helps to us) and we are to diligently search the scriptures and seek to know and understand Truth. :love:(y)

You know, if we as Believers could actually rid of this Good Friday and Easter Sunday nonsense, it would really help “Yeshua’s case” (long explanation) in redeeming his identity and not this pagan version many have of him due too these horrible traditions to minimize who he is.

Do you guys share this info in your communities?

I have explained and defended the reason for adhering to a Wednesday crucifixion in the past, but it is a non-essential, though understanding the Scriptures is definitely important. "Easter" is the observance of Passover in the Christian realm, both being determined by the position of the moon. For us it the first Sunday following the first full moon following the vernal equinox, whereas on the Jewish calendar, the yearly High Passover can fall on any day. That is why "Easter Sunday" moves around on the calendar :)

The part of the moon's position that strikes me as being fairly important is the fact that while Jesus lay dying on the cross, and the sky went dark for three hours, people try to explain away as being the result of a solar eclipse, but a solar eclipse during a full moon is a cosmological impossibility. A solar eclipse happens when the moon comes between the earth and the sun. During a full moon, the lunar orb is exactly opposite the sun on the other side of the earth. Passover should ALWAYS be on a full moon.

Of course we do. Mind you, not without a lot of opposition. This is one of the loosest forums to share. I share on a Reformed Protestant Forum and another BibleForums that are really strict about new ideas. The first one I have been on quite a while and built a lot of reputation, plus I donate every month so they put up with me. The second one I usually wind up in sub-forums for controversial issues. I have also written books and got them published. Other than online, I don't think the communities are open to new ideas. :cool:
