I go with the great commission.

Mathew 28:16 to 20 (great commission) AMPC (Amplified Classic)

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed and made appointment with them.
17 And when they saw Him, they fell down and worshiped Him; but some doubted.
18 Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
19 Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).
Why aren't you using Acts 2:38 like a good Campbellite?

So you are a Mormon then? I believed that nonsense about a pre-existence where I was once an angel that followed Lucifer out of heaven but now have been born as a man that I might find a path to return to Joseph Smith. Yawn.

Why don't you people admit up front what you are instead of slithering in under the cracks.
Now! Who is speaking gibberish??!!!

Matthew 13
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

There is too much tolerance of wrongs in the Christian churches and in society. (y)(y)

and too much people-pleasing worship and preaching instead of Holy Spirit guided worship and preaching and many Bible study discussion groups for preparation of Great Commission ministries outside the church.
***If Christians were doing what Proverbs 3:5-6, Philippians 2:1-5, and Ephesians 4:11-16 say,
they would be for almost all of the same things
because they would all be guided by The Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ (John 16:13).
Learning the mind of Christ means learning to think as He does.
But most Christians just want to focus on religious rituals, feelings, opinions, gossip, and slander instead.
Most preachers I have heard use Bible verses out of context and opinions and psychology.
I prefer verse by verse or careful word study sermons. Usually contexts of verses is very important.
I am just for what the Bible says.
I am not for arguing about denominational distinctives or spiritual theories.
Having the right faith in God and the Bible is what is important.
Our desire to become more Christ-like should be the result of such faith.

***I am tired of so many preachers emphasizing and misusing the Old Testament stories and Proverbs.
The latter are easy to manipulate or twist for teaching psychological changes of thinking and doing.
I think that such preachers are afraid of discouraging their followers
Apostle Paul called them “ear ticklers”.
The Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Galatians indicates why we should want to be
New Testament Christians instead of Old Testament Christians.
I did not say not to read or learn from the Old Testament,
because the whole Bible is for our learning and improvement.
The Ten Commandments are still for today
and Proverbs 3:5-6 is the best way to be sensitive to The Holy Spirit.
But we are in New Testament times.

Hebrews 11
39 And all these, having gained approval through their faith,
did not receive what was promised,
40 because God had provided something better for us,
so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.
Hebrews 12
1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us,
let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, The Author and Perfecter Of Faith,
Who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame,
and has sat down at the right hand of the Throne of God.
3 For consider Him Who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself,
so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
4 You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin;
5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,
“MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD,
NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM;
6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES,
AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON {AND DAUGHTER}
WHOM HE RECEIVES.”
7 It is for discipline that you endure;
God deals with you as with sons {and daughters};
for what son {or daughter}is there whom {his or her} father does not discipline?
8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers,
then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
9 Furthermore, we had Earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them;
shall we not much rather be subject to The Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them,
but He {disciplines us} for {our} good, so that we may share His holiness.
11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful;
yet to those who have been trained by it,
afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

All of the major protestant denominations have been taken over by secular ministers. In them you hear a nice homily but never the gospel message. Only the sub denominations still preach the gospel message.

Gary North wrote a book called "Crossed Fingers" where he documented secular ministers taking over Presbyterian USA in 1932. Same has happened to the other of the 7 sisters major protestant denominations. At an invitational evening service I talked to a man that was a lifetime member of a Lutheran church. He was shocked to hear the gospel message for the first time!! Go to a Presbyterian USA church some Sunday morning and see if you hear the gospel message. I met a minister in that denomination about 20 years ago and he was one of the last Christian ministers fighting to push the denomination back to Christianity. There was one of their preachers that publicly to the press that claimed he didn't believe the Jesus story. He was never rebuked by the denomination. Do that in any Bible believing gospel preaching denomination and you are tried and if not repentant are defrocked then removed from the church. As an elder and deacon in 3 Reformed believing denominations (moved twice), RCA and PCA, have seen this in action.

Stupid 5 minute rule
The secularization of denominations started in the 1890s. They wanted access to the money the church controlled. I saw a minister of one of those churches driving a new Lincoln and learned he got one every year. As an elder and deacon in the PCA I noticed that the denomination was immune to this because the minister only had access to a small pot of money for immediate use for mercy use to help those in need. If more money was needed for a specific need the mercy committee would take over. Those in need were never given money but the committee would buy for them what was needed. One time that meant buying a used car for that family. Those in real need were grateful but those who were trying to just sucker us would get angry, yell at us and stomp off.

You keep saying they then you give an example of one church where a minister drove a Lincoln which really proves not much of anything. You're not proving your huge swath of condemnation.

It is obvious that you don't bother to investigate facts but just make accusations in either ignorance or are a wolf in sheep's clothing. Which are you. I have seen this going on for 40 years. At 74 I have witnessed this in several churches and talked to many that went to those churches and later heard the gospel message and were saved. Check it out by attending morning services in the top denomination of the 7 sisters major protestant denominations. The Catholic and Orthodox Churches are immune because of their top down method of authority in the denomination. Any minister or priest saying that about Jesus will be defrocked immediately. While I have major disagreements with many of their distinctive they are both Bible believing denominations.

Not being rude............but I kept seeing your Screen Name, and thinking to myself........."Have I not had that done to me?"

Can't imagine what led you to choosing that for a Screen Name though

Endoscopy is a nonsurgical procedure used to examine a person's digestive tract. Using an endoscope, a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it, your doctor can view pictures of your digestive tract on a color TV monitor.

But of course, now the name calling, and suggesting I'm lost. Nice.

The real problem is by all practical appearances it is you who is making false accusations. The major denominations are not taken over with "secular" ministers. Are there bad ministers? Of course. Are all major Protestant denominations taken over? Of course not, you're over-inflating the issue.

Now name call and accuse away, that's a reflection of you not me.

In a normal Bible believing church the minister doesn't make enough salary to buy luxury cars every year!! I as a deacon know how much the ministers were paid and was required to keep the financial information about that and other issues secret. For example who was given what by the mercy committee. Only overall the amount of money spent providing the services and expenses of the church.

With all due respect that's a local church problem sir, not a conspiracy of denomination and money takeover.

You spout ignorance of what an endoscope is. That is an accusation leveled at me several times. What you are referring to is called a proctoscope. An endoscope is used by surgeons to operate or investigate what is under the skin without cutting open a large section of skin. In the operating room 4 small incisions are made. One has an air pump connected to it to have the skin be moved away from the inner body. Then an endoscopy is attached to the head of the surgeon and put in the skin. Then the surgeon uses special long handled surgical tools going in two of the remaining holes and the operation is performed using them. This procedure makes recovery much shorter and much less painful. It was done on me when I had surgery on stomach and begining of the small intestine.

Save your garbage information for the ignorant.

Take my challenge and go to one of the top level protestant denominations and see if you hear the gospel message. Presbyterian USA is the top level Presbyterian denomination. Go to one of those churches and prove me wrong then report back here about what you heard. Prove your assertion. I have talked to several that heard the gospel message only after going to one of the sub denominations. Prove me wrong with evidence not conjecture!! Get a copy of the Gary North book "Crossed Fingers" like I did and read it like I did. That is what opened my eyes to the problem and found by going to some of the churches when I was working in places for weeks found it to be a fact.
