So, since you were saved, you have NEVER sinned? Is sin bad fruit?
Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

In case you didn't know, we have two different spirit persons in us. One has a seed or offspring of the devil in him and the other has the flesh and blood of Jesus in him.
These two spirits are contrary to each other.
If you let the old man go unchecked, you will find yourself sinning, because it will be the devil leading you through the old man.
If you follow after the other man and let him/her do the leading, which is the same as the Spirit of God leading you through the new man, then you will do righteous acts.
Point being, not everything is of and from God.
Again, JESUS SAID, a good tree CANNOT produce bad fruit. And since He said it, it is the way things are.

As you are quoting Scriptures to support your comments..........did you consider quoting the one about us not tooting our own horns?

BUT.......if you want us to brag......why did you not start?
I was not asking anyone to boast about themselves, but on God.

If you can't find anything God did through you without giving God the glory for it, then it was not done by Him, but by you.

The reason why I didn't give any examples is because I wanted to prove something first.

That being that many so called Christians, have a form of godliness but deny the power of God working through them, because maybe He wasn't working through them like they thought and tell others.

One reason why many don't list anything God did through them, is because they know, since God didn't really do anything, it will appear that they are bragging on themselves or tooting their own horn saying, look what I did. And they would be right.

I will give some of my own testimonies later.

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

A perfect example of what I was talking about is quoted below.

About 10 years ago I was trying to be perfect before the Lord. I was taking all my thoughts captive, like the bible said to do.

Well all my thoughts were evil continually. I didn't want them to be. I wanted to be perfect before the Lord. But I couldn't stop. All these thoughts came to me un-bidden, or like they were an automatic habit. If it wasn't lustful thoughts I was having it would switch to covetous thoughts and vice versa. But it was always one of those two.

So I prayed. I first of all asked the Lord why I couldn't even be good or righteous even for a few moments. Then I asked the Lord for help. I did not understand the magnitude of the help that I was asking for at the time.

But I received Help. And it was a whole lot more help than what I was expecting. I received Rest from my work at trying to be Righteous before God. Instead I was given a New Way. A way of abiding in Christ and Leaning on His Power and Wisdom instead of my own. I received Peace. I received Joy. I received Love. I received Deliverance. I received Salvation.

Now I could dwell on the Righteous thoughts and Righteous teaching of Scripture asking the Lord to help bring it to mind instead of filling my mind with my own way of un-righteousness and evil continually.

Now, scripture and the Words of the Lord come un-bidden into my mind instead of the lustful and covetous thoughts. Not that I'm perfect now, because I'm not. But I'm not trapped in my own ways and my own thoughts. I have a Way to repent towards now. I have something to Abide in that I didn't before. I have someone to Rest in who is more Powerful than I am. Who is more Wise than I am. Whose Way is much better than mine.
The man bragged on God because only God could have done it.

You cant even.breathe without God giving it to u. Same with the heartbeat

I love it that you "stole" my post... BIG SMILE...

Hospice, comes every day to take care of my mom, to make her confrontable…

I had nephew move move home, to heaven at 8 years old, my mom (step mom really but ben my mother since I was 10) start dyeing at 77. My first husband murdered at 21 years of age. While my grandmother died at 96... this year...

The point is the Scripture says there is a day in which each man shall die. It does not tell the day, just a day. Only Y-shua/Jesus could predict the day and the how He would die... that is evidence He is G-d.

We can and do a lot of stuff in our lifetimes; some things G-d delivers us from but others He lets us suffer the consequences...

But that heart beat, that breath is in G-d's hands and in His only!!! Since He is Sovereign and sees all I DO NOT KNOW ANY BETTER HANDS!!!!

Im not a part of the OSAS believers. U seem to like jumping to conclusions.
God has saved me.from death many times
First off, it was a question, not a statement, and secondly, I didn't ask if you believed in OSAS, but once in Christ, always in Christ. As in, you cannot go in and out of Christ during your journey through life with God.

I know we both have our differences, but thank you for both understanding what Jesus was talking about, and for your well written and beautiful testimony of what God did for you.
That is the loving God we serve.
And thank you for giving glory to God.
God did something similar with me concerning my wife.

I see this at this moment as the works that He did and said we would do the same. They can only be done by His Spirit in us flowing outward. Whether anointed words or deeds...all from Him the source of life through us.

Possibly why there is that scripture of "I never knew you".
I no longer think the church is spiritually dead any longer, thanks to you and a couple others. However, I still think they are spiritually dense, like Jesus' disciples were before His resurrection.

As the apostles and many other Christian believers in the first century, did many of the works/miracles the Lord did, I then believe these represent but a few of the things the Lord meant by being unable to do anything productive, other than through Him.
However, are not singularly minded as were first century Christians who did the works/miracles Christ did, we are thus unable to do the works/miracles the Lord said would accompany they who believe on Him.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
This is exactly what I believe Jesus was talking about when He said, "without me, ye can do nothing."
Thank you for your post.

I completely disagree...........the Holy Spirit WILL NOT dwell WITH an evil spirit......not gonna happen.......once we receive the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.......He sweeps clean our hearts, and He expels any evil/sinful spirits........Does that mean we are pure and perfect? No, that means He is READY to begin the process of Sanctification within us to MAKE us pure and perfect.......to be presented Holy and blameless..........

The "good tree" in this case, is God/Christ......we are the grafted in branches.......and, anyone that has ever gardens knows, now and again the tree has to be pruned of unproductive branches......

They SEE how we live, interact with others.........they DO NOT hear us proclaiming our good works......they do not hear us tooting our own horn.......sorry, don't buy that Scripture to support the idea in the OP

We can give God the glory without shouting it from the rooftops.........NOW.......if you, or someone here, is/are comfortable doing so, then, by all means go for it........

Yes, Christ is within us, producing only good fruit, but so is a seed of the devil, which produces bad or corrupt fruit.

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Notice, God never removed the old spirit within the man, He just added a new or fresh one, when He was born again.
The rest has to do with sin, within the children of God.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Both are still in there, it's just one is crucified with Christ, if you did so by faith.

One of your problems with your good works is that they are just that, YOUR good works.
Didn't you read the other posts?
We laid it out for you, exactly what we were saying and you still come back with your works.
How is it that you still failed to understand?

One of your problems is, you can not read comments with understanding............We have been discussing the good works Christ does through us..........the world sees them as our good works, but we know who deserves the credit, and who deserves the praise, and that ain't us............ And when you toot your own horn, you are seeking the praise of the world.......and Christ said you have received your reward................so don't expect for Him to give you an ATTABOY later on

as for the other comment..........Paul is speaking of the weakness of the flesh, the carnal man, sin nature, not an evil spirit abiding within him...........How in the world can anyone believe that God/Holy Spirit would abide side by side with an evil spirit?

goodness................please tell my you are not teaching this stuff to children or newly saved believers.

I Am the True Vine
Joh 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Joh 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

What kind of fruit do you produce now that you are born again, that you couldn't do before?

Jesus said we can do "nothing" without Him, what do you think He means, when He says, nothing?

The Greek describes the word, nothing as, "not even ONE thing".

Anybody know what Jesus is talking about? It would have to be something you couldn't do before you received Jesus in your life, that brings glory to God.

Is it love or forgiveness, the ability to escape sin's hold, go to heaven, or is it something bigger?
Galatians 5:19-23
King James Version(KJV)

19.}Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20.)Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21.) Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22.)But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23.)Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
+++
The things that use to cause me frustration,Impatience and anger no longer have that effect because now I have spiritual understanding and recognize the wrong spirit by the grace of GOD.

JESUS IS the Vine and we are the branches, after initial salvation Is talking about progressive sanctification.

If you look at the beginning of John 15, you see that the subject of what we can and cannot do revolves around either being IN Christ Jesus, the vine, or not.
In the vine, we produce fruit. Apart from the vine, no fruit.
For example, a prophet cannot prophesy without the Spirit of God within the person, right?
So when it comes to spiritual gifts, such as those mentioned in 1Cor 12, we can do nothing, because it is the spirit within the person that gives them the ability to prophesy, in this case.
In that sense, we can do nothing without Christ, for all special abilities come from and through Jesus, the vine.
I know you meant no harm so I wanted to fix something you posted bro,we receive sustenance from JESUS and display spiritual fruit establishing the law.
