If it is Jesus' faith, not our faith . . . what are you talking about . . . 'our faith in Jesus.'

It's pretty bad when a Calvinist can't even write one sentence without contradicting Jean.

Well, that is the problem with a lie, you keep having to come up with new lies to cover up the old lies.

The faith or power of Christ is the work he works in us both enabling us to believe Him and do His good will. It become our faith previously having none as natural man. Not little zero.

Again we have his faith as power in us but not of us.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us

Pick up a copy of the KJV and read Gal 2:16. I will quot it for you and you will not have to trouble yourself to switch versions, you probably don't have a KJV handy. "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the FAITH "OF" JESUS CHRIST"

I am sorry, I don't know how to ask it any simpler. Can the natural man/woman, who has not been regenerated, repent to breaking one of God's spiritual laws?
How many different kinds of Calvinism is out there? You are both Calvinists and you are not even on the same page? You know there gots to be something wrong with a 'simple' theological system that adherents can't even agree to it's views.

They do it all the time.. Just go to the drug rehab centers..go to the jails and see people who have repented from what they did.. Because the law was written on their hearts.

Repenting from personal sin never saved anyone anyway, Repenting of a life of sin, and the fact you think you are God. And humbly comming to the cross as God convicts you of sin righteousness and judgment, is what leads us to salvation. But you MUST chose to belief (have faith) God will not do your believibg for you
If you are affirming that all who are on drugs and are in jail are not disobedient children of God, then you must have a very limited lack of knowledge in the scriptures. Believing is not the cause of your eternal salvation. Believing in spiritual things follows being born of the Spirit

Wouldn't a person that believes in a 'limited' atonement quite naturally have a 'limited lack of knowledge in the scriptures?' I believe someone is projecting his own foible upon another.

The apostles themselves said that it is a hard doctrine. Before The Holy Ghost within you will reveal the truth to you, you will have to give up on your own intellect.

Dude, Get off your high horse and try for once in your life to listen to what people are saying.

1. I never said they were not disobedient. Nice twist job, Is that how you treat people who disagree with you? You lie about things they are saying because your truth can not stand on its own?
2. One must be SAVED to uderstand spiritual things, I agree. But I am not talking about understanding doctrinal truths. I am talkin gabout salvation.

3. The bible says I have been saved because I heard the word of the gospel. And after I heard, I believed (eph 1) And after this, I was sealed by the spirit.

Intellect is not in any enmity to truth or revelation, when both are properly used.

Actually, many of Greek philosophers came with predetermination and other truthful ideas long before Christ came. For example, you can read Epiktetos.

Here is what I believe, and am totally unshakable in these truths
Doctrines of Grace or TULIP
T - total depravity of man
U - Unconditional election of the saints
L - Limited atonement
I - Irresistable Grace
P - preservation of the saints (once saved always saved.

the 5 Solas
sola scriptura the bible alone as our only source for faith and morals
sola gratia grace alone
sola fide faith alone
sola Christos Christ alone
soli deo gloria glory to God alone

The ONE true God eternally exists as three distinct Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and one in essence.

and in the eschatology of Amillianism
I prefer to have God and his Word as my starting point . . . just saying . . .

Nor are you. You as the OP proposed a topic for discussion but you DO NOT "own" or control the thread. Once it is posted it is the property of and solely under the control of the administration of Christian Chat. If you don't like the submissions of particular users feel free to place them on your "ignore" list.
apparently YOU missed the point........ being that the person I responded to had ORDERED that another person STOP IMMIATELY "PREACHING" apparently what that person not agree with. and that was the reason for MY post.
Don't like my style? ignore me......great invention that,..ignore.

Repenting is a product or evidence that you are already born of the Spirit and have a guilt feeling for having broken one of God's spiritual laws (commandments). The natural man cannot repent of a spiritual law that he does not understand. It is foolishness unto him. Were you not referring to those that were on dope and prisoners being natural men without the Holy Spirit? Your hearing and believing were not the cause of your eternal salvation, but the evidence that you were already saved eternally. The fact that you had already been given the Holy Spirit is the earnest (down payment) of your inheritance of heaven.

You still do not get it but thats fine.

God said the HS convicts the world (not the elect, the world) Of Sin righteousness and judgment, Jesus said we have faith because of his work, So if you want to sit their and deny that God can show a person their sin, Convict them of that sin, Show them the righteous judgment they deserve, and show them the grace and mercy he wants to give them, (the good news or Gospel of Christ) So they can chose to say yes or no, and by that choice either deny christ and commit the unpardonable sin, Or recieve him and be born again. Then I do not know what to say to you,

I believe in Gods power. When you decide you want to trust in him, Maybe you will then understand my point.

That IS God's eternal truth.
T - Romans 3
U - Romans 9:16
L- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. KJV John 1:12-13
I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. KJV Romans 10:20
P - Romans 8:1

We both have the same destination. We just interpret the scriptures differently. I also believe in God's power and if it is his will to save all mankind, then he does have the power to do just that.
