(John 1:32; Romans 8:16).
Joh 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit
descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
I hear people, when talking about babies will say something like, “oh look at it.” So I guess babies are ‘it’ too?

What historians say, and what they call the lost century in history.

as Edward Gibbon wrote in
The History of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire

"The scanty materials of ecclesiastical history seldom enable us
to dispel the cloud that hangs over the first age of the church .

-
Jesse Lyman Hurlbert in
The story of the christian church

the age just after the book of acts he calls "..the age of shadows.."
"of all the periods in the churches history, it is the one about which we know
the least about. For fifty years after St. Paul's life a curtain hangs over the church,
through which we strive vainly to look;

-
William McLaughlin in
The Course of Christian History

"But Christianity itself had been in the process of transformation as it progressed
and at the close of the period was in many respects quite different from the apostolic
Christianity."

-
Samuel G. Green in
A handbook of church History

"The thirty years which followed the close of the New Testement canon and the
destruction of Jerusalem, are in truth the most obscure in the history of the church.
When we emerge in the second century, we are to a great extent in a changed world."

-
William fitzgerald in
lectures on ecclesiastical History

"over this period of transition, which immediatly succeeds upon
the era properly called apostolic, great obscurity hangs."

-
Philip Schaff in
History of the Christian Church

"The remaining thirty years of the first century are involved in mysterious darkness,
illuminated only by the writings of John. This is a period of church history about which
we know least and would like to know most."

"Simon Magus unquestionably adulterated Christianity with pagon ideas and practices
and gave himself out for an emanation of God."

"This heresy in the second century spread over the whole church, east and west,
in the various schools of agnosticism."
-

Satan was doing everything he could to destroy the Work of God, and in
little more than two decades, God’s people were turning to another gospel.
This was the time of the Roman Empire , and in around 117 AD, at its greatest extent.
streched from Britian clear to modern day Turkey, and it ruled with the rod of iron.
-

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you
into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years
I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
It didn't take long for Satan to take over Christianity. He can't keep us quiet now. Welcome to the age of Elijah and the church age of Smyrna.

The Apostle Paul indicated that by the 60s a.d., much of the Middle East had
turned from the true gospel to a clever counterfeit! (Galatians 1:6-7).

This “Christian” counterfeit is actually the source of the trinity doctrine!

In a.d. 325, the Roman emperor Constantine called the Nicene Council to settle several
religious controversies, which included arguments about belief in a trinity. Constantine
was not a “Christian” then, but as political ruler, he assumed control of the church.

The religious council approved the trinity doctrine, and Constantine made it
law throughout the empire. But he was not able to make it the truth!

There is a definite reason why Satan, the arch-deceiver, wanted this false doctrine introduced
into false Christianity. The trinity doctrine is his attempt to do away with the heart of the gospel
Jesus Christ preached. It limits God to only three—with no possibility of expansion!

But the truth—the gospel that Jesus Christ brought from God the Father—is that God
is not a trinity, but a Family! That is truth Satan wants to hide from mankind!

From Jonathan Edwards...

I can think of no other good account that can be given of the apostle Paul's wishing grace and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ in the beginning of his Epistles, without ever mentioning the Holy Ghost, - as we find it thirteen times in his salutations in the beginnings of his Epistles, - but [i.e., except] that the Holy Ghost is Himself love and grace of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ; and in his blessing at the end of his second Epistle to the Corinthians where all three Persons are mentioned he wishes grace and love from the Son and the Father [except that] in the communion or the partaking of the Holy Ghost, the blessing is from the Father and the Son in the Holy Ghost. But the blessing from the Holy Ghost is Himself, the communication of Himself. Christ promises that He and the Father will love believers (John 14:21,23), but no mention is made of the Holy Ghost, and the love of Christ and the love of the Father are often distinctly mentioned, but never any mention of the Holy Ghost's love.

(This I suppose to be the reason why we have never any account of the Holy Ghost's loving either the Father or the Son, or of the Son's or the Father's loving the Holy Ghost, or of the Holy Ghost's loving the saints, tho these things are so often predicated of both the other Persons.)

And this I suppose to be that blessed Trinity that we read of in the Holy Scriptures. The Father is the Deity subsisting in the prime, un-originated and most absolute manner, or the Deity in its direct existence. The Son is the Deity generated by God's understanding, or having an idea of Himself and subsisting in that idea. The Holy Ghost is the Deity subsisting in act, or the Divine essence flowing out and breathed forth in God's Infinite love to and delight in Himself. And I believe the whole Divine essence does truly and distinctly subsist both in the Divine idea and Divine love, and that each of them are properly distinct Persons.

Sorry I do not follow mans doctrine,
you are free to do what ever you want.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people,
that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

No possibility of expansion? Is God still growing? Benny Hinn teaches a 9 person godhead. I purposely kept them lowercase.

The trinity is a confusing subject to many, no doubt about that. If you do a search you will find a ton of questions about the trinity from Christians and non-christians alike.
We have many different explanations for it. Like water ice and steam. The egg-shell, and the football illustrations.

If someone were to ask me if I believe in the trinity, I would say yes. And I have. But then as we started conversing I have been often accused of being a modalist. I had no idea what that is.

Here again is my view of it and how I explain it, so someone can tell me what "ism" im in: I believe in the Godhead. One God. We are made in God's image and we are a body/soul/spirit. How this would work with the Godhead is: Father = Soul, Jesus = body, Holy Spirit = Spirit.
I think its a great and simple way to explain it, if anyone can show me wrong from scripture i'll change my view obviously in a heart beat. I like it because I dont need extra-biblical catholic philosophical ideas and words added to scriptures like "persons" or "essences" or anything like that. Thats just too complicated in my opinion.

Its easy to find verses that prove the deity of Jesus. But its impossible to find a single verse that "proves" the trinity. Which is exactly my problem with it, if its that important God would surely have mentioned it, and there should have been a big controversy among the jews for it. But Paul never writes about it, thats why I believe the "Godhead" would be a proper and biblical word to use instead. This bothers me because when witnessing to people the trinity almost ALWAYS comes up, especially when talking to muslims, OY VEY!

What do YOU personally, believe about the trinity, how would you explain it? If you even believe in it. And if you dont, show scripture why not.
Hey! Y'all... PTL!
We are made in the Lord's image and after his likeness, though his thoughts and ways are above ours as heaven is above the earth. This is a case where the finite seeks to understand the infinite. So since we're made in the Lord's image and likeness with a body, soul, and spirit and the body itself is triune in that it has flesh, blood, and bone; I can picture the Trinity to be like one finger held up, composed: of flesh, of blood, and of bone. Since we're dealing with the infinite, and based upon scripture each person of the Trinity is self-aware and in agreement. The Lord is Spirit and yet our bodies are also patterned after the Lord in that they're triune after the Lord's likeness. The flesh as the outward component, shows us what God looks like by letting us see Jesus, both as the word and as the Son. It is also Jesus' role as the outward manifestation of the Lord to both create the physical universe and to hold it together too. Scripture tells us that the life is in the blood, so that as the blood flows throughout the body, the Spirit listeth where he will sharing God's quality of life with the body of Christ and reproving the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. The bone give the finger its structure, solid and firm as is our heavenly Father, who gives such things to us by being: full of love, mercy and forgiveness in his just, holy, and righteous self. Jesus come quickly!!! : )

In John 14, Jesus plainly called the Holy Spirit Himself and Him. That makes Him the third Person in the Godhead.

No possibility of expansion?
We are now begotten sons of God, heirs to the kingdom.

In the near future a nation will be [born] at once,
at Christs return we will be born into the family of God.
We will be like Him, and see Him as he really is.

This is one reason that got the apostles killed,
the fact we will be in his family like him.

People preach about the person of Christ,
but reject the message He brought from the Father.
About the soon coming Kingdom of God to earth.

The trinity is a man made doctrine, was presided over,
started by a roman idea and who was worshiped as a god,
then we have [the holy roman empire] church state combination.
you might want to study up on This [woman] mentioned in the bible.

Also the papal calendar we use , the holidays on it are all pagan,
and God even prophesied it would change time, seasons and laws.
I should get lots of dislikes for these comments, like that helps lol.
