If we are going to just accept every new revelation like the Charismatic Movement then we might as well accept the Muslims, Mormans, and Jehovah’s Witnesses.
I don't know what you accept...you have only indicated what you do not accept

however, the Bible is my reference and from many discussions on this forum I know it is also the criteria f'or others here that you are mocking

tongues are hardly a new revelation and the word 'charisma' refers to them and the name 'Charismatic' is taken to refer to the gifts and not just tongues

Demons can be passed on through the laying on hands. I’ve heard Pentecostals say that if you can’t achieve tongues on your own then find a someone to impart the spirit on to you.

Which Pentecostals, that is like playing with fire to which you claim?

wrong. Yet again you do not see what Peter said Fully. Your known un -wavering bais rises again. Acts 2:21

"And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
What did Peter preach? Acts 2:15-21 an explaination of Joel 2. Acts 2:22-36 Jesus is risen and exalted as Lord and Christ. Acts 2:37-47 Call to repent of unbelief and be born again by the Holy Spirit.

Paul clearly teaches that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God. Romans 10. Saved by grace through faith. Saving faith comes through the word of God.

The blood of Christ makes complete atonement for sin. The grace of God provides complete forgiveness of sin. The Holy Spirit forever abides in our hearts to guide us into the righteousness of God.

For the cause of Christ

He is speaking that in church he used less Tongues in order to communicate.

This is a no brainer because Tongues is language to God, not other humans with one exception:

22
Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Nice try. I’ll write it for you.

“I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. Nevertheless, in church I would rather speak five words with my mind in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:18-19‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I’ve also noticed the part I’ve mentioned several times about testing spirits has been completely ignored by everyone that’s responded to my assertions.
that's untrue but I would not expect you to even stick to your own script

my experience with people like you coming here is that you gloss over scripture, twist scripture and outright ignore what actually has been responded to

I asked how a person would test spirits without the Holy Spirit...did you miss it?

I’ve also noticed that Pentecostals shy away when Jesus is mentioned and they keep wanting to go back to the book of acts. Jesus is Lord and Savior. Love God with all your heart, mind, strength, and soul and love others as yourself. Jesus didn’t command us to chase after the Holy Spirit for signs. We should desire them for the glory of God.

Don't know why you make this claim when Jesus said speaking in new tongues is a sign they are believers of Him.

Mark 16:17
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Not written by Mark. 16: 9-20 is contested and should be read with caution. And it always what people fall back on to defend their distortions. There is a lively discussion on the topic.
lol knew you would yet again discredit

the Gospel of Mark end with verse 8 " 8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. ".

and you think that is contextually correct?

Yet the word cessationist is not in the word of God . it is a created term by a secular humanist.

Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

And then I posted:

Now you are circle dancing :(

Discouraging is when people tell you. If you dont speak in tongues, then you are not a real christian.
And this I ever and ever heared. As well from pentecostals as from charismatics.
Without scripture proof, alone because of man doctrine.
Should I let me discourage because of this.
Since I became a christian I got the gift to destinguish the spirits. And when it comes to pentecostal and charismatic doctrine, my impression is that there a different spirit behind.
Suspicion is not discernment. Do you see into the spirit?

So you are claiming this is scripture tampering?

How do you account for John 20:22? Or was that not technically a baptism in the Holy Spirit; hence no tongues?
John20: 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

This is the account of those who saw the Risen Lord and He saved them. How do you account for them told by Jesus who was with them for 40 days after the Resurrection tell them To go and wait until you have received power from on high?
Luke 24:49
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

They already Had the Holy Spirit in John 20: 22. Jesus said in Acts 1;* why they needed the Holy Spirit to be a witness. They had the Holy Spirit when they were saved. the Holy Spirit empowerment in Acts is not for salvation it is to be a witness as Jesus said.

A sign for the unbelievers to hear in their own language. Not a sign for other believers not to have a tongues revival in the church or any of that nonsense.

A moderator that results to personal attacks.
I don't know, but from the point of view of a person who speaks/prays and sings in tongues, telling me I have a kundalini spirit is a personal attack

now I know I don't participate in that sort of thing, but again, I do question what spirit is behind your thoughts on the matter

you just joined. there are many many threads on tongues here and you have said less than 0 that is new or that we all have not already heard and answered

not everyone swaggers about with the attitude you have though

almost every one of your 116 posts is anti tongues

clearly, you may have joined just to spread your false doctrine
