actually lets see what the BIBLE says after all thats what matters:
Matthew 10:22 (KJV)
22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

endureth---(strongs)
to stay under (behind), i.e. remain; figurative to undergo, i.e. bear (trials), have fortitude, persevere :- abide, endure, (take) patient (-ly), suffer, tarry behind.
Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
Yep.....same thing in Matthew 24 as well......try context....he is not speaking of salvation....

Are you one of those that actually believes the word saved is soul salvation......maybe look the word up and study it.....it might open your eyes

Here is a word for you.....

con·text
/ˈkäntekst/
noun

the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood and assessed.
"the decision was taken within the context of planned cuts in spending"
synonyms:circumstances, conditions, surroundings, factors, state of affairs; More

the parts of something written or spoken that immediately precede and follow a word or passage and clarify its meaning

All you showed me was the same false interpretation of Hebrews..........I can tell you....trying to get me to accept a false interpretation of scripture will not convince me of your personal truth.......
show me where i was wrong and gave false interpretation (the bible speaks for itself)

somehow you remind me of a man i was talking to one day and i said to him "do you believe there is a sky above your head?"
he said "no, i don't think there is a sky" as he was looking down towards the ground, and i asked him to simply "look up" but he refused and kept arguing "there is no sky"

i'm sure you love controversy since its in your name but can i ask you "do you believe there is a sky?" will you look up?

I believe in the baptism of the holy spirit(I guess you do not) Anyway, in the church I grew up in, they believed it was impossible to be baptised in the Holy Spirit if you smoked. I then smoked, but got baptised in the Spirit. The point being, God will accept you, and bless you, by taking you at your word. And he will place you in a saved state even if he knows you did not make a full commitment to his son that will last.
Im sure you will disagree, however, you have no choice but to try and explain away very plainly written scripture by doing so. And a lot of it. I prefer not to do gymnastics with the plainly written word. Some have certainty of heaven, but some do not
Well.....that is tragic that people believe such foolishness.......

Paul said, "ALL things are lawful although not expedient" and if you think that smoking a cigarette with keep you from being saved or out of heaven....how does one even begin to address such ignorance....

RELIGION is the word and JESUS condemned such ignorance......

That is the church I grew up in. And I do not regret it all now, for through that experience I was shown what I probably would not have appreciate so much otherwise

No, actually I love the truth and despise deceivers that devalue Christ, his work, promises and power while reducing the eternal life and salvation he gives eternally by faith to a dime store revolving door that can be lost like a dime in the park....and only a fool would say there is no sky...........it, along with all deceivers will be burned up when God sweeps the planet with the besom of destruction....

as far as my name.......it was chosen for me by AOL in 2007 when they actually had chat rooms.......it has nothing to do with me loving and or promoting controversy.......

So what......no offence, but the church I grew up in taught a bunch of things I do not agree with after almost 35 years of study.........that means nothing to me in the grand scheme of things....

That is an ignorant question......no he called me to defend the faith and that is exactly what I will do...Did he call you to take his word, deny context and peddle a losable salvation which the bible does not teach?

Chester shoots and misses by a mile.................no..he did not interpret HEBREWS correctly.........
LOL! I didn't even get close to doing any interpreting . . . I simply commented on someone else's interpretation that I agreed with.

You knocked me out before I even had a chance to shoot! That's OK, I still believe.

i never called JESUS a liar, what are you talking about?

and what am i gonna pay for? i repented of my sins and asked Jesus in my heart when i was 18, so according to you i'm heaven bound with the hammer down and i couldn't go to HELL even if i wanted to (according to your doctrine)

yes he did but what does that have to do with the prodigal son? the prodigal son didnt "WANDER" off
there is a big difference in someone "wandering" away and someone packing his stuff and "lEAVING" which by the way, i have never said that i believe you can lose your salvation, but you can leave your salvation

dont cherry pick Hebrews 6 look at it closely
Hebrews 6:4-6 (KJV)
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

the word "crucify" is a present tense verb meaning its something they are doing presently

its simple, if your sinning (presently) stop and repent and he is faithful and just to forgive but it is impossible to be renewed if you chose to stay in your sin and crucify (not crucified) God afresh......
so, tell us, have you completely stopped sinning ?

Eventually, we make our way out of ALL the denominations, including non-denominational and find our identity “In Christ” alone.

I enjoy listening to sermons and the fellowship with other believers in Christian churches but, I only identify with Christ- Yeshua/Jesus.

One thing you can always rely on, on the internet, people explaining away the plainly written word.
Many different people go to church, and make confessions of faith, some do indeed walk away, and others do not. The question is, were those who walked away ever placed in a saved state? Scripture shows us they were, though they may not have had the personal salvational experience that will always keep them saved. People who Jesus said would never be lost.
A man once said: Sin will not bar you from heaven, but losing your faith will. That made me think much
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" (I Tim. 4:1).

you seriously believe there will people in heaven that has "departed from the faith" and gave heed to doctrines of devils???

Revelation 3:5 (KJV)
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

if having your name blotted out of the book of life is not something christian's should be concerned with then why did God say it?

sounds like Chester is right....here i will give you a scripture to consider

John 15:5-6 (KJV)
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

WHAT HAPPENS if you dont ABIDE in HIM???????

Same book of Revelation also says:

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Rev 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Predestination buddy!

OK - suppose we start with the foundation of what I believe:

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth as the Lamb of God. He lived a perfect life, shed his blood on the Cross for our salvation, and then rose in power from the dead! Those who believe in Jesus Christ and his death and resurrection have their sins forgiven, are saved in the good old fashioned way, are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and are given the gift of eternal life. Amen and amen!

I think the Scriptures in context teach that those who believe are saved, and those who do not believe are not saved. Quite simple, really.

Speculation about salvation is an unhealthy practice, spiritually speaking. Especially in the OT. God has always been approachable, but few were offered spiritual salvation before the cross. Each dispensation will yield ever greater amounts of saints. There are at least six dispensations defined. :)

LOL - This is getting hilarious - Someone says I (Chester) still believe "salvation can be lost" - and then another says that I am right!

If you want to talk about what I believe, it might be better to get it right from the horse's mouth. But this horse is going to keep his mouth shut for now.

Exactly the scripture I was referencing......there are two primary lines of thought on this verse..........

a. Women must bear the pain of birth as part of the curse and that in due time they will be saved from this burden
b. That a woman would bear the seed (Christ) and that through the birth of the savior their salvation would come

The Greek goes from singular (SHE) to plural (THEY) so.....I am not fully set on anything personally yet........one of those things I need more prayer and study on to fully embrace a view on to be honest
