I can actually relate to what Fran says here , about doubting ...
Unbelievers will not worry about being saved , but those who are saved and are hit by the fiery arrows the devil aims at us can cause and will cause doubt , especially to a babe in Christ , but only thirsting and being hungry for the Word settles these doubts as we are comforted by the Holy Spirit , that is what happened to me alot...
I had suffered with mental illness for over 30 years , the devil knows my mind from past , and these darts of his disabled me many times , the doubt was daily , it was a constant battle , but thanks be to God He is strengthen my mind...xox...

What these passages convey is that though our deeds are judged by God, it's not the good deeds themselves which are the basis or means of receiving eternal life, but the type of deeds expose whether our heart was saved, or not. Good deeds done out of faith are the fruit, not the root of salvation. If Paul wanted to teach that we are saved by works, then he would have clearly stated that we are saved through faith and works in Ephesians 2:8,9 and that we are justified by faith and works in Romans 5:1 but that is clearly NOT what Paul said. *Also see Romans 4:2-6; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9 etc..

This is an impressive array of clear-cut, unambiguous answers. Who has and shall have eternal life?

Jumping through different hoops to become saved and remain saved! That would be justified by keeping the law and the Bible says none are justified by the law! Not by works of righteousness which WE HAVE done Titus 3:5!

I hate it how it was done to me in the pentecostal circles. They told me how easy it was to be saved, but then after you join, they lay HEAVY BURDENS on you to REMAIN saved. Its actually harder to STAY saved than to get saved in their system.

Its kind of like back in the days when people got baptized right before death to remit their sins. Thats what its like in this system too, just give your life to Jesus at the last second of your life, thats when you have the most chances of "STAYING SAVED". IF you do it today you will likely end up lost! Since its upto you to maintain it, GOD IS OUT THE PICTURE

Paul said TODAY is the day of salvation.

I believe the Holy Spirit led me to find out John 10:26-27 and Matthew 7:21-23 CONNECTION! Jesus knows the sheep, never knew those cast to hell, THEREFORE none of the people cast there were SHEEP and then evolutionized into goats! Rather they were always goats, and Jesus knew the sheep.
Romans 8:28-30 the golden chain of redemption! Ephesians 1! From the foundation of the world!

I got my eye on you buddy. I see you. You tried to trick everyone already by throwing in Romans 2:6-7 in there without telling them about the CONCLUSION Paul goes to in Romans 3!

Christ wasn't paving a tortuous road of do's and dont's to obtain salvation. He was not setting a standard by which you can accurately judge a true Christian by either.
Christ was giving direction (direction, not directions) to point out the contrast between the law and faith. New and old testaments, the flesh and the spirit. What's been done in the flesh compared to what can be done through the spirit.
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

But let me tell you: living on probation SUCKS. Its EASIER to make a mistake when on probation, because someone is constantly breathing on your NECK

Obedience is actually easier as a FREE MAN. If you've been on it, YOU Know what im saying is true

Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

I highlighted the word "I know them" because Jesus KNOWS the sheep. Now this proves sheep will always be sheep:

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

There Jesus casts folks into hell and He NEVER knew them, not used to know them.

CANT REFUTE IT. Will you believe it? its irrefutable, this will never be touched. I will probably keep bringing this up OCCASIONALLY from now on.

Yes I know all about the attacks as well, so I do understand what you write.

That being said, if a saved person has received correct instruction from the start they will not worry about being saved.

God's word is clear, but the enemy can be a mighty foe, it was truth and being persuaded of that truth that strengthen your mind, because I remember when you posted here that you knew you were eternally saved!!

Praise God

Perfect love casts out fear.

Why I disagree with Fran is because her statement does not make these qualifiers and she makes it sound like this is how we have to go through life.......doubting, as though this is the more is the more honourable, humble place for the believer.

God states NO.... we are to be assured that HE has been victorious and we are completely saved!!!
