Just for you Dcon...
I'll repost my no. 86,862.
If you can't understand it...I really don't care.
But, being such a good teacher of biblical matters, you SHOULD be able to...

post 86,862...

The above statement was in response to my stating that salvation is earned and is not a gift.

I've stated this before and will do so again....

Salvation is a free.
It cannot be earned.
Ephesians 2:8-9
It is earned by grace through faith.
Siince our faith is a gift,,,salvation is also a gift because it comes from faith.

This is called Justification.

The problem I have with this thread is that there is no distinction made between
Justification
Sanctification

Sanctification IS EARNED.

It's a cooperative effort between man and God. Jesus did His part on the cross, now it's up to us to do our part.
Jesus said:

Mathew 16:24
Discipleship Is Costly

24Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.

Jesus said the gate is narrow exactly because being a disciple is costly....the wide road is easy.
Many here say they are following Jesus and yet they seem to state that it's OK to be on the wide road simply by not agreeing.

You said it's easy to say Jesus is God....
Shouldn't it be as easy to say Jesus is to be obeyed?
It's the same.

If we want to say we have a relationship with God,,,then we must also accept our part.
It takes two person to create a relationship.....not one walking alone. It's you and Jesus walking together.

John 12:48 Jesus said:
48“He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.

1. We must accept Jesus as Savior and not reject Him.
2. We must receive His sayings.
3. His word is what will judge us in the last day. (whether or not we obeyed Him).
Sanctification is not earned...By God`s power in our lives every day , we are set apart from the things of the world , and walk with God , according to His Will , which is something a true Christian would want to do...
God sets us apart and gives us new desires to walk more holy as He is Holy , and it is a process which we fail Him every day , but thank God His grace and mercy are new every morning...xox...

Still didn't answer.....I understand that there is preachers preaching without God......that's not what I asked

Can a man be full of the Spirit of God, preaching the Gospel and not be a saved man????? 3rd time

A MAN LIKE JUDAS, cannot be BE BORN AGAIN, and STILL continue to STEAL from the LORD's from the purse that PEOPLE gave HIM to support the Ministry.

John 12:5-6 (NCV)
5 “This perfume was worth three hundred coins. Why wasn’t it sold and the money given to the poor?“
6 But Judas did not really care about the poor; he said this because he was a thief. He was the one who kept the money box, and he often stole from it.

John 12:5-6 (NIV)
5 "Why wasn't this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year's wages."
6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.

John 12:5-6 (CSBBible)
5 "Why wasn't this perfume sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor??"
6 He didn't say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief. He was in charge of the money-bag and would steal part of what was put in it.

John 10:1 (HCSB)
1 “I assure you: Anyone who doesn’t enter the sheep pen by the door but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber."

NO REPENTENCE FROM SIN, EQUALS NOT BEING BORN AGAIN, he was a PRETEND Christian.

YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT BORN AGAIN ACTUALLY IS, DO YOU ? ? ?

there is a reason you are not addressing the scriptures and points i have made......because you know good and well they will prove your doctrine to be full of holes..............everyone reading with an honest heart can see that as well!!!
Don't take it to heart....
@dcontroversal treats everybody like this....sans scripture.
He likes to keep a level playing field.

You can post this drivel in letters as big as the Holly wood sign pal and it will not change the fact that he was not saved and then lost it and BY LYING regularly you are losing any credibility you may think you have.......AND you are either too dense or full of pride to admit the truth......MAKE NO MISTAKE about it.....YOU are a DECEIVER

"But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him.

For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, "Not all of you are clean."
If your not clean, your not saved, and this was BEFORE judas transgression

What I find Ludacris is the first part of your statement!

To think that the only difference between Peter and Judas was Jesus prayed for Peter but refused to pray for Judas

The Bible says that Jesus prayed often he was a man of Prayer and of course the Bible does not record everything Jesus said when he prayed every prayer .Judas was one of his ordained apostles and Jesus was his friend and you're going to tell me Jesus did not pray for his friend ever???? No way Jose I'm not buying it

The difference between Judas and Peter was Peter repented and ran to the Lord......... Judas on the other hand felt so guilty no doubt his heart condemning him and the devil lying to him telling him there's no way back so he killed his self

I promise you this the sins of Peter are far worse than those of Judas

BTW. Im not mocking you as you suggested
Peter repented , his heart was broken...
Judas died with no love for our LORD ...xox...

yes, that would betray him.......

was Judas given authority over all devils????? yes or no

was he not given power (dunamis) to preach?

how did the spirit of God speak through him if he was never saved? Matthew 10:20

you've called me names ever since i been on this thread.....dishonest.....deceiver.....mocking me as a pastor etc...

i guess this is how you debate the scriptures............not even address the ones that may prove your point wront??
Yet you refuse to,acknowlegde john 6 and if judas ate the food jesus offered, or john 13, so stop demanding people do what you will not do yourself

We all sin...even after we're saved.
It's cut down a great deal because we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.
The same happened to David.
Maybe my brain is fried because it's late...
but I'm starting to wonder...SO WHAT!
So he sinned...a sin is a sin to God. God is holy and He can't stand any sin.
So then D repented...
This is how it's supposed to be.
I didn't mean that it's not important.
YES...BUT under the LAW he should have been KILLED.....YET....

a. HE was SPARED and the INNOCENT son of DAVID took his PLACE <--A picture of GRACE and JESUS
b. HE was STILL punished and was CHASTENED as a CHILD and DID NOT lose his salvation
c. HE ONLY repented after CORNERED by NATHAN
d. HE was CONVICTED and wrote a full PSALM describing said CONVICTION

I love you Rosemary. You're one of the nicest persons on here.

But you're not reading sanctification correctly.
But it's OK. Just keep following Jesus and stay close to Him and obey Him to the best of your ability.

I can't argue this with you.
It's an accepted fact...it's like arguing if grass is green.

I'll just post this link again...

Sanctification
Sanctification means “to be set apart.” Morally, to be sanctified means to be pure or holy while spiritually, to be sanctified means to be set apart for God. God set you apart from wrongdoings to be more like Him and Jesus Christ. Although a sinner is forgiven and made righteous by justification through faith in Christ, sin continues to remain but it is one thing for sin to remain in you and quite another for you to remain in sin. This is where sanctification comes in.

Sanctification begins with justification. But, while justification is God’s act of forgiving your sins and counting you righteous through faith in Jesus Christ, sanctification is the continual work of the Holy Spirit in the believer in order for you to conform to the image of Christ, who is God’s son. And, while justification is a one-time act of God, sanctification is a continual process until you are taken to be with the Lord.

Once the sinner is justified through faith in Jesus Christ, the faith must produce outward results, which is good works.(11) Actions or good works that come from having faith in Christ is what sets real faith apart from a mere profession of faith.(12) While your good works will not justify or make you right with God, good works are the evidence of your faith in Christ as well as in God.

So, how can you produce good works? The Holy Spirit is the believer’s helper as He works within you to conquer sinful desires and inclinations as well as produce fruits of right actions or righteousness.(13) This is the process of sanctification.

Summary of differences:
  • Justification is a one-time act of God, which makes it complete and finished.(14) Sanctification is a continual process since a believer is not completely freed from sin until the day of resurrection.
  • Justification addresses the sinner’s guilt for committing sins. Sanctification addresses sin’s power and corruption over a believer’s life.
  • Justification is God’s declaration that a sinner is righteous through the work of Jesus Christ. Sanctification is God’s transformation of a believer’s whole being, that is the mind, will, behaviors, and affections through the work of the Holy Spirit.
  • To be justified, your good works are immaterial. To be sanctified, your good works are a necessary evidence of your faith in Christ, which the Holy Spirit enables you to do as you continually die everyday in your sin.
  • Justification gives you the privilege as well as the boldness to enter heaven. Sanctification gives you the meekness for heaven, and allows you to fully take joy in abiding there.
Understanding the differences between justification and sanctification may seem like an academic study of religion that could intimidate believers of the Christian faith, whether new or old. However, learning the distinction between the two terms could help you strengthen your faith and grow in your Christian walk.

OK.
The other poster brought up agape love.
Agape love is God's love.
I did say God's agape love.
Which is a very serious love.

Then I asked:
Does God love a murderer?

What do you think?

I think God is not a lover of sin...
Persons that live in sin (different from sinning) cannot be loved by God.
They grieve the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is God.

Before you answer, I'd like to say that persons that are having trouble with sin and know it and are asking God for help and forgiveness are NOT the persons I'm speaking of above.

But, yes, I don't think God loved Ted Bundy.
No, but I do think he may have had a soft spot for Dahmner. 😂 (I kill me sometimes)
I beljeve since God IS love that it is not a mere attribute of God, but the very essence of his entity, so that all that proceeds forth from him is manifested in and sustained by love. With love God hates sin.
You with me? It is the fruit and top variable in defining him and his eternal glory. Just as if we walk in that lovd it will be, hands down , the number one definer and sustainer of our "good works"

this is paul speaking to a congregation of professing believers (at colosse)

i see this specific bit as encouragement to us with a genuine and enduring faith

all who truly believe are those who have been reconciled and will continue in the faith

not being moved or swayed is a product of a saving faith

trust
confidence
belief
fidelity
Here it is again:

Colossians 1:22-23
22yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—
23if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

Paul is definitely speaking to believers.
How is it encouragement though?

He says in verse 22 that Jesus has reconciled us with God and wants to present us blameless before God... But how? IF we CONTINUE in the faith --- firmly and steadfast.

And not MOVED AWAY from the hope.....

So
1. What if we don't continue?
Paul is plainly saying that if we do NOT continue...Jesus will not be able to present us blameless to God.

2. Paul is saying to not be MOVED AWAY from the hope of the gospel --- which is eternal life.

I see here two references to becoming lost...
Paul saying the word IF.....making our salvation conditional on CONTINUING in the faith.
Paul saying not to be MOVED AWAY from the hope of our faith.

It doesn't sound like encouragement...
It sounds like warnings.

Too sleepy ...
Please reply and I'll answer tomorrow.

Doesn't matter...........saved is saved and you are missing the bigger picture.................he was spared and another TOOK HIS PLACE
Okay but that's the foreshadowing...
Why are you talking about that in reference to David and his son?
Tomorrow....

i can also see it as a warning to false believers in the midst of the congregation without a genuine enduring faith

but we know already about those who go out from us

and those we are not of

how if they were of us they no doubt would have continued with us and all
