One thing that really bothers me is when a Christian comes up to me and says, "you haven't been healed because you lack faith".
Boy, does that get me.
After they say it they put a pert, smug smile on their face because they feel no pain and you do.
You see, we have to claim our health and wealth and everything else because God wants us to have it all in this lifetime.

There are so many holes in this belief that I no longer know where to begin.
All I can say is that God is not a field of science for us to master.
Every time we think we know it all, we find that we really don't know it all.

I was once on the other side of this.
I saw too many preachers get rich and too many people stay sick.

Today we have more name it and claim it preachers (churches by many different names) than we ever had before.
Is there really a "name it and claim it" movement anywhere that is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
Ask them if it takes more faith to get saved or healed? If they wear glasses ask why? There is a site that documents that many WOF pastors died of sicknesses.
I wonder why Timothy didn't just name and claim his stomach illness to be healed. Or Paul with the "thorn" in his side.

Guess they just didn't have enough faith!

where is the formula of name it claim it used in scripture?

above is on page 3

well that's interesting

simplistically dangerous is when someone dies because they refuse treatment because God was going to heal them...true story and I know a few others here also have seen this

I agree some proponents want to honor Jesus...those are the ones that get hurt in the end when the claiming does not come through

of course, we always have the actual biblical doctrine concerning words but that seems to fall on deaf ears for some reason

a recent thread went to he** in a handbasket as it was taken over by WOFers ...you might get a lesson in sarcasm actually if you were to read what they wrote

I will be the "simplistically dangerous nonconformist one that refuses medical....I have lived my whole life in faith and without medical insurance and never been sick a day....trusted God on everything....please remove the alcohol Father....HEALED
Please fix my sciatic back nerve my leg is numb Father HEALED....PLEASE Fix the toothache Father.... wake up from a nap whole intact tooth sitting on tongue HEALED.....Please lower my blood pressure father HEALED Please lower my blood sugar Father HEALED....never a flu shot never a flu.....never a cold
Please make the migraine headaches stop HEALED
Paralyzed on floor unable to move back out phone out in vehicle no phone in house.....50 miles from anywhere 5 miles down the dead end dirt road behind locked gate half mile from road half mile fom nearest neighbor house secluded in timber where no hollering gun fire anything would gain attention or help.....Please please please please help help help me Jesus help me Father.....15 minutes later HEALED....up walking....picking up weight not another incident 15 years.
Thank you Thank you Thank you oh great wonderful powerful glorious merciful Lord Father God in the sweet name of Jesus THANK YOU!

28 Thomas said to Jesus, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Jesus said to him, “You believe because you see me. Great blessings belong to the people who believe without seeing me!”

Why John Wrote This Book
30 Jesus did many other miraculous signs that his followers saw, which are not written in this book. 31 But these are written so that you can believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. Then, by believing, you can have life through his name.
Thanks for correction. I am getting old.

He has a morning broadcast show near one of my residence it's like watching a comedy show not knowing what the next sales pitch coming in a few minutes then listening to him tell you how great it is or why you have to have it.....just hysterical .
They have like a Home for unwed mothers on the property they call Lori's house I think.....she openly talks about having 5 abortions herself before getting "saved"
geesh 5.....really....I mean not my place to judge but it just you know....I hate hearing or thinking about what it means or what God thinks about this nation and where it's society has gone in such short time.
My familial descent is from historical persons on one side involved in the founding and commanding the wars fought here in this land all of them.
The 24th Congressional Gold Medal recipient 11 03 1814 Commanding Major General
Jacob Jennings Brown was my 4th GGU the hero of the 1812 War and US Army CMG deceased in office 1815-1828
A Quaker teacher founder of Brownville , Pamelia , Water town and Bradleyville NY all near the Canadian border on the Black and ST. Lawrence rivers Sacketts Harbor ....they sold the Original homestead next to William Penn on the Delaware River....
My 8th GGF was the first Justice of Bucks Co. PA George Brown My 6th GGF was also Justice of the Co. and Sgt. Mjr. John "The Fox Hunter"Brown NY 1st infantry under George Washington....the Army crossed the Delaware river from our family homestead during the Revolution....
He was also a member of the Philadelphia Assembly present for the DOI and CC and ratification.....
There were four other Generals in the family two were my 4th GGF and 3rd.
that's a pretty impressive lineage!

my family came over from Europe and settled in Canada

5 abortions is kind of shocking I would agree

the whole thing makes me sad...for them and for people who hang on every word said by them

I know God heals...but not because of formulas or someone's faith is more than another's. that is not the problem

it's the scorn, hypocrisy and super attitude of some of these WOFers that I have no respect for. you are a recent arrival here...look up some of the old threads...and I have literally known someone who died because they refused all medical treatement for cancer because if they accepted treatment, it would have been a 'sin' of unbelief

that's the kind of stupidity that makes WOF so dangerous...not to mention all the WOF teachers and so called healers that walk around with glasses on and die of some disease themself

as far as God healing miraculously, He can do that any time He wants. I'm pretty healthy, but I have seen answers to prayer that were beyond the normal...I kind of think that God meets each person where they are and in what manner best suited to them..what makes me understand might not be what makes another person understand...kind of thing

I absolutely believe that God intervenes in our lives and probably more than we know :giggle:

I do appreciate your testimony of God healing you. it's pretty awesome!

I visit hospital patients by aiming for folks I know first. Most Christians confess they are confused about being sick. They mostly believe they are wsick because God allowed it to teach them something. They even name their sicknesses. "My cancer came back. I still haven't learned why. Will you ask God for me?" Or "My kidneys are failing because ...." Notice "My" there? Christians overwhelmingly name and claim their diseases and failures by name under a sin consciousness mentality.

Why not confess what scripture promises declare over believers? Why is that evil, while confessing curses as God ordained over them is "righteous", even if they die and can't return home to testify God taught them a lesson they never comprehended?

I confess my own health and blessings and receive those, rejecting harmful attacks. Why put up with failures? I am more than a conqueror in Christ.

I believe in praying for healing
right from day one, 34 years ago
half a lifetime for me
I've seen lots of healings, I've seen healings that were out right miracles.
But not everyone gets that.
Stay faithful, keep believing and someday it will come.
Why?
Maybe God wants to put us through the fire for a reason or something else.
Who are we to question God.
We are to pray for our needs, wait patiently for what we expect to receive, and praise God all the way through the ordeal.

I have as strange reaction to the many miraculous healings (of blindness, malignant brain rumors, etc.) and answers to prayer we see in our weekly small prayer group. On the one hand, I rejoice in the joy brought to the lives who benefit so greatly from our prayers. On th other hand, the more success stories we see, the more it bothers me when people aren't healed or have relapses. Our successes heighten our expectations and those impressed with our results who look to us for prayer support. So when people aren't healed, I crash emotionally and feel terrible for the disappointed ailing people, this despite the fact that I know God has an exit strategy for each of us and it's obviously not His will to heal everyone. I'm aware of both the mystery of divine sovereignty and of human failure to pray ofte enough, long enough, with enough faith, or with a clean heart and life. So when God says No, I'm depressed by the question of whether and to what extent our prayer group is responsible. Still, the positive results we do receive make this whole emotional roller coaster ride through the ups and downs of a prayer warrior worthwhile, if not as consistently joyful as one might imagine.

Try answering some of the questions I've poised to you that you have so conveniently ignored.
Do you mean the wealth I've accumulated, or lack thereof?
For what?
How would that glorify God?
I'm not here to impress anyone about me.
I want to propagate the truth and power of God through His word.
To honor and glorify His Son through the word of God.
This is not about me in what I can do, but about Jesus doing what He promised through the word of God.
And lastly, it's about the subject of the thread.
You might want to at least do a little bible study before you continue.
I perceive you know very little about the subject of discussion.

There is no reason to believe that Jesus owned his own home. If he was wealthy as you say, why didn't he own a villa in the suburbs of Jerusalem and a nice cottage in Galilee? Nope....he stayed with Peter and literally slept outdoors at the Mount of Olives....probably with permission of the owners. Jesus never once was the host or entertained guests. The money bag held by Judas were probably topped up with public donations.
If you want to see Jesus that way, that's fine. I just find that people try to be like those they idolize.

See Jesus? Oh no, I need to read about Jesus. And based on what is recorded by the witnesses, there is absolutely no reason to believe that He was in any way wealthy with silver and gold, homes and great possessions.

Prove it from scripture

He said he had no place to lay his head
Walked every where he went except when he fulfilled prophecy on the ass
Was a man of sorrows
And I personally believe he was sickly and base

NO where do the scripture state he was wealthy and or healthy
We see the integrity of @know1 right here on this post....he red x'ed it....and EVERY thing I said was true.........the ONLY stated opinion was the bolded...the rest was 100% scripturally proven in the bible

Gotta love those that RED X truth

Thanks for correcting the spelling.
I understand now.
Jesus was continuously on the move basically from the day of His Baptism to His death.

Disagree on Jesus being ill or sickly. He was a stupendously energetic orator (exhausting), singlehandedly cleansed the temple twice (physically imposing no doubt), 40 days of excruciating temptation in the desert hills of the Judean wilderness.

He was a mans man and probably physically as perfect as a man could be in a fallen world.

Yes, as in a mental image.
What you perceive from your reading is how you will see Jesus.
But if you have any biases, like being against wealth, then you will not be able to receive the truth.
Honestly though, no biggy if you see Jesus as being poor.
It's not like it's going to affect your salvation... unless you're not saved.

Of course the most important requirement was that Jesus was utterly unblemished physically. So no, He could not have been sickly frail or less than perfect.
