Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man,
4 in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.
Rom 8:1-4

Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Rom 13:10

Love fulfils the law. What we know is a defended heart, and how cautious we are
to do anything without getting hurt.

Paul saw in his life the Holy Spirit moving and fulfilling what God called him to.
It is always about becoming not trying, working through issues in Him and with Him
and not trying to be something just for the sake of it, which is meaningless.
That is the ultimate goal of the gospel: the gospel awakens and strengthens faith that leads to conformity to Christ, which displays the glory of God.
And if you wonder what kind of obedience he has in mind, he left us in no doubt. Just recall some of Romans 12:
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. . . . Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:9–14, 21).
That is what the obedience of faith looks like. That is the beauty that the nations of the world need to see — for the sake of the name.

Seriously,:(

Anyone who is born again is in His likeness.

Thankyou gb9.
Are you happy to face the Lord while not being in His likeness?
Are you happy to ignore His words and instructions and expect to find mercy?

His sheep listen to Him, follow Him.
Do you want Jesus to accept you despite what you are not because of what He has made you?

Not likely........ in fact not correct

The corrupt system was a response and direct attack upon the doctrine of justification by faith alone in Christ alone.
Our faith doesn't save us, but our Faith in the saving power of Christ. I agree.

I agree, but I dislike this sentiment — for the sake of the name.

I have heard it said like this, to be a good witness we should ......

No, we are a witness in following Jesus, not to be a witness but because this is the Way.
John put it is terms of love and seeing a brother in need. One cannot claim to know Jesus
and then ignore ones brother, no the love within shows itself in reaching out and giving support.

Jesus came to purchase a people, not because we are worthy but because of His will and His love,
expressed by the Father through the Son. It is difficult to think I am owned but I am. I do not have
rights, God gives me His mercy and His love to share as a vessel. In submission to the Lord of All,
we gain the greatest gift, who He is, the humblest ruler of everything that anyone could be or imagine.
To have the creator come and speak with us, and listen to us, and wash our feet. What a Lord, what
a friend, what a Saviour, Praise you forever, Jesus Christ the exalted one, Amen

He humbles my heart, and breaks me, and gives me life all at the same time.....

Honestly without @dcontroversal and @GodsGrace101 going at it, this thread is sleeping!

I dont even have to read through multiple pages when I get home and get on here! Oy vey!
well, I guess it is good to not have a constant bickering .

I mean, followhissteps and myself had many battles in the past, when he was here as peterjens.

I am choosing not to interact with him, because it goes nowhere.

so, many of us are choosing not to interact with those who just want to stir up trouble.

I am done interacting with those who do not address what was said, or the Scripture in the post, and just attack the person who said it.

Poor comparison!

If you can will your way into salvation, which MANY believe, WHY cant you will your way out?
Free will as Christians like to use it when arguing against Calvinism, means we have the ability to hear truth and be persuaded that it is truth.

Being Born Again, or coming to salvation is not an act of one's will.

We believe many things against our will.

She has moved on to another thread, perhaps she did not like being taken to task over her true identity. :)

What do they say about truth, oh yeah..... it can be a bitter pill to swallow.

Tell me more about this

I know you are referring to John 1:13, but i also know you believe in free will.

So what do you believe against your will?

No, only in your theology not according to what scripture teaches.
Interesting proposition. This is Paul talking to some believers

Do everything without complaining or arguing,
so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe
as you hold out the word of life--in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.
Phil 2:14-16

Paul is implying the believers are not currently blameless and pure, but they may become such.

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will--
to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
Eph 1:4-6

Here we are holy and blameless in His sight, so God through grace regards us as His, pure and holy.

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit
2 Cor 3:18

Paul is describing being transformed into his likeness, an on going process.

So it is both we are there, and also still have a way to go. Whenever we pray these two realities
are present. Are you not aware of them? If we abandon our transformation and walk, we leave
Him, while if we continue our focus is to complete the work He has started in us.

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be perfect and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:4

What are you refering to? To date you seem determined to say very little, so have little to say.

No works needed to be saved by faith

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
