Paul speaks about the old law and the new law. Why would I not do the same?
In eph 1-2, Romans 4 and titus 3? Again, SHow me the word law there?

Jesus was apposing the judiasers trying to add law to the gospel in many other passages But not in these.. Nice try, but no cigar

Paul is speaking of the works of the law:

The Burnt Offering; The Grain Offering; The Fellowship Offering; The Sin Offering; The Guilt Offering; Dietary Laws; Purification After Childbirth; Cleansing From Infectious Skin Diseases; Cleansing From Mildew; Discharges Causing Uncleanness; The Day of Atonement; Rules for Priests; The Sabbath; Firstfruits; The Passover and Unleavened Bread; Feast of Weeks; Feast of Trumpets; Feast of Tabernacles; Oil and Bread Set Before The LORD; the Sabbath Year; The Year of Jubilee; Circumcision.
Some here cannot determine the difference between the different O.T. laws:
Ceremonial
Civil
Moral

The Moral Law will NEVER be abolished because GOD IS MORAL and He cannot separate Himself from His nature.

Somehow this is a difficult concept to grasp for some
and some call it "works".

I never thought obeying God was a "work" till I got to this thread some months ago.

Here is what the N.T. says about doing good deeds:

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

James 4:17
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

James 2:26
For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

Unfortunately, some refuse to understand the nature of God and the N.T. commandments.
I truly am beginning to fear for their souls....something I would never have said before now....
since it's God's job to judge souls....not mine.

But can it be any other way?
If one loves God one does not speak AGAINST doing His will.

No one said he did

Another false accusation. Do you love bearing false witness against people? There are two sins you have been shown.. And you think you deserve eternal life??
First of all EG,
You really should stop telling everybody they're going to hell.
Heaven must be waiting with baited breath just for YOU and those that agree with you.

Second of all,,
YES, some here DO speak as if Jesus said He did away with all the commands.
If you can't agree that we're to do good works for God.....and be morally upright....
then, in effect, you're stating that works are not necessary.

This goes against scripture.

@YourTruthGod You said God cleanses us of sins we repented of (stopped doing).

I got a question: What about the ones you havent repented of? And then you die, is it frying time?
Hi H,

Are you saying that there are sins you are NOT sorry for?
If this is true,,,then, that sin is not forgiven. Scripture clearly states that we have an advocate with the Father if we commit a sin....but we DO have to be sorry for it. I think that even if we don't FEEL the sorrow, we should fall at God's feet and ask forgiveness of all our sins, in Jesus' name. Amen.
God knows how our heart is and He's always more than ready to forgive.

If, instead, you are sorry for the sin but never confessed it,,,that is no problem...God KNOWS you WOULD HAVE confessed it.

It's never frying time for those trusting in Jesus that are trying to do their best and are sincere.

I dont believe repentance means feeling sorry for sins. I feel sorry for everything.

I believe repentance means genuine change of mind, which results in a change of action!

You are dead WRONG. OBEDIENCE is PART OF OUR AGAPE LOVE,
It is "part" of our love? What are the other parts? In addition, could you give scripture for what you just said?
I can give you scripture that says God does not love you unless you love Him.
I can also give you scripture that say love is to obey His commands.
the SAME LOVE that the Father had the Holy Spirit Pour into our HEARTS (HUMAN SPIRIT), Rom. 5:5.
That happens after we are saved.
OBEDIENCE for the WRONG REASON, is just FILTHY RAGS TO GOD. If it is not done out of a sense of PURE AGAPE LOVE FOR GOD, it is totally unacceptable.
There is no such thing as wrong reason to obey.

That is NOT what he asked you, he was asking what type of CHURCH do you go to. Like Baptist, Lutheran, Conservative Evangelical, etc.
I attended a Conservative Evengelical Church, that happens to be non-denominational. I think anyone that REFUSES to answer that question, is being TOTALLY DISHONEST, and may be guilty of this sin:
I already told him that I do not belong to any denomination; and there is really no such thing as non denominational.

I so agree. God brings His message in our language, and we do not have to learn another language to know the truth and be saved.
Of course you would agree, you both peddle a self saving hog wash gospel....and you side with one that peddle obedience while lying openly about being banned and coming back under a different name and being DISOBEDIENT....two peas in a pod

Yes he does

And he choses those who recieve him

Remember, we are given the right to be children of God because we receieve him, Not because we are good people..
We have to be accepted by God. God does the choosing. I already gave the scriptures. It say it plainly.

Jesus accepts those who do right: Acts 10:35 but that in every nation those who fear Him and live good lives are acceptable to Him.

Acts 15:8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.

Of course the workers for, self savers and salvation losers hate the Greek.....God inspired the Greek which overrides the English and the Greek proves the above mentioned false dogma pushers as being wrong.....

Well since you do not recognize the passages I have been giving, Let me help

John 1: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

Nothing about being accepted by God

Here is what God thinks about us

Rom 3: 23 For ALL HAVE SINNED and FALL SHORT

Correct....
But you spoke about repenting for sin....
That would mean each individual sin.
People use the word repent incorrectly these days to mean "sorry for".

You only repent ONCE in life...not for each sin....
Repent means to change you mind,,,like you said.
It means to stop walking toward satan,,,turn around,,,and walk toward God.

sinning does not stop that walk.
Abandoning God can stop that walk.
When one abandons God...He stops walking in faith and He stops listening to the voice of God...as His sheep do.

NOW does my post to you make more sense?

Also,,,
What difference does it make what church one goes to?
We are all members of the Body of Christ....
as you said in one of your posts.

I DO wonder why this question is even asked....

That last line you wrote...there's a scripture that says the very same thing. The kingdom of heaven is like a tree that grows up and the birds come and lodge in the branches.

We sometimes read this as a good thing...until we look at the concordance. Was posting from memory.

It's the same thing with a move of God on earth. Demons are drawn.
Notice that when Jesus or Paul preached the self saving, sinless perfectionist, Phariseeical false teachers came out peddling their law, commandments, religion and self cleansed, self righteous false dogma......same here......We must help Jesus....he is NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND HE CANNOT POSSIBLY KEEP US SAVED....makes me want to puke

Gen 15: And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

Nothing about works there, You added to the word. Shame on you. How many times are you going to do this?
You see the word 'obey' in those scriptures? Where do you get the Bible doesn't say that?

Yes he will

And who does he say will get it?

1. Those who recieve (john 1)
2. Those who believe (John 3)
3. Those who drink (john 4)
4. Those who eat the living bread in faith (john 5)

What part of this is so hard for you to understand?
To believe is to drink and to obey is to eat.

No we are not....False dogmas that do not save does not place one in the body.......and one that lies openly while claiming to be obedient, back under a different name, breaking the rules and in pretense claiming to know the Lord is in the very minimum suspect......!!!!
