Ya see, this is the sneaky, deceptiveness of this Co-savior doctrine going on here.
"You are teaching that we shouldn't obey Jesus?!!!!!!!!, YOU are preaching a false Gospel!"

I have been on here 6 yrs and I have never heard ANY true believer in Christ, and HIS finished work, say or intimate such nonsense.

What I HAVE heard, praise God, is a staunch defense, & unashamed proclamation, of THE One True Gospel unto Salvation.

What so many like this poster has attempted to do is say that because we say it is SOLELY by the Blood of Christ that we are saved, and that there is NOTHING we can do to add or help to what He has done, and become a Co-savior with Him, and to try and do such a thing is indeed trampling on His Blood, that we are teaching "we can live any way we want".

Paul says this about such:
Romans 3:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
8 And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their [a]condemnation is just.
Amen....he is just another deceiver......twisting, embellishing, denying truth while conflating the old with the new....he sounds like a Moromon to me....he will not admit what group he is associated with.....very deceptive and shameful....

No answer then, I guess you missed just above where it states....." Yea some may say....

Which means James is responding to a counterpoint from an interloper.

Now what say you?
Act like you are the person whom James is speaking to.

You are standing there in front of James and you say, "I have faith alone that is what saves".
Now imagine James saying back to you, "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder."

i listened

he seems to believe

1.Saved by grace through faith and not of works

2. works play no part in keeping us saved.

3. we are kept saved by God.

4. we are made new and given new desire for righteousness when born again.

5. if you go out from us you were not of us and we are not of them who fall from faith...

at one bit he seemed to contradict himself

but he used the word "if" a few times (just as the bible does) to fix it

seems legit to me assuming i didnt misunderstand him
Sounds like you liked this presentation. I have to say the man represents where I sit.
So I am grateful you could hear a balanced presentation of the two positions.
What is also possible both are true, because they are perspectives on a eternal reality.
God bless you

Nope, wrong, James responds in verse 20 with "But wilt thou know

It is true that among scholars there is some debate or question as to where the "counterpoint from an interloper" (that James is presenting in this text) actually ends.

No one can be saved by works. I have never known a Christian say that they must be saved by works and not grace. But, once saved, there is work to be done.
And we have consistently said that....

Saved for not saved by <--Ephesians 2:8-10

Yet there are several here that conflate the two and peddle saved by faith but kept by works <---false gospel of a different kind with no power to save, double cursed, all who believe it are fools and bewitched according to Paul who was INSPIRED and taught by direct revelation from Jesus

Galatians 5:2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all.
Oh foolish Galatians, answer me this, having begun in the spirit are you now made complete by the flesh

Saved by faith but finished by works.....

False and saves NO ONE

So now you are going to claim James did not teach the good news message?!
You are just like every other deceiver that comes in here.....you take what we say, embellish it and then imply we said something we did not say.....Satan did that exact same thing in the garden...who leads you pal....the Spirit of God does not lead men to do what you just did.....!!

Don't get me wrong, we are not saved by works, but after we are saved there are works for us to do. And we can not reject the fact that Jesus will be separating people for the works the did and did not do, one day. Jesus does require us to do works.

Is this all things you believe you got to do to be saved? Do you know ANYONE thats saved? Cause if this list is the end all be all, then not only am I not saved, I dont know a SINGLE PERSON who is. And I know hundreds of Christians. Not a ONE is saved!

This is quite a list, and seems like a tough act to follow! This again is what I mean by "his commands are not grievous" "my yoke is easy and my burden is light".... reading through that list, while its backed with Scripture. DONT SEEM LIGHT OR EASY TO ME. SEems rather grievous!
The simplicity found in Christ migo

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

He that believes on the Son is having everlasting life

Do not let the deceivers derail your understanding .....and make no mistake...they are not of God by their very words

I think James is responding when he states O vain man

This is what I read...The blepeis (“you [singular] see”) in 2:22 is then directed toward the challenge of deixon moi (“Show me,” 2:18) by the objector. The horate (“you see”), now moving to the plural, draws the readership back into the truth that James is stressing.

The whole point of James using Abraham as an example is important because Abraham was already justified by
God before he took his son to the alter, but this act justified Abraham before men, because you see that in v. 23 he was called a friend of God.

Who called him a friend of God?.......those around him, he was seen as just by those around him because of his work.

I'm grateful that you read it, did you understand it? :)

I never said temporal based upon performance. I'm not sure if you understood everything I was trying to say, which makes sense because the post was too long.........:)
I did read it and my reply was directed at those peddling a self maintained losable false dogma based upon works or obedience to some set of rules or commandments

We are saved by having the heart that Jesus says to have.
