John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, "If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Are you a Judean?

What is it they had yet to learn?

Have you learned it yet?

yes, I quit caring about getting a " x ' when I was in 8th grade passing notes in class.
I really do not care either at the end of the day....all I care about is the truth and people actually trusting Jesus by faith....I will continue to oppose any and all that spread false gospels.......to the bitter end

They seem to think that we can conjure up enough power in ourself to be able to crucify our flesh and love others as God loved us BEFORE we experience Gods love. And only after of our own power we do this. THEN we are saved (as long as we keep doing those things)

When the bible says we love BECAUSE he first loved us..

It is not from us, It is the abundance of Gods love given to us that empowers us to love others.
God is the source of love......and this love is a process of growth and maturity in a believer....it needs to be MATURED <--PERFECTED in King Jimmy....
Of or From both come from the same Greek word and = source

Where did I say it wasn't?

In fact I posted a few back where I said he works in us to conform us to the image of Christ
Hi Bill,
sorry if I am being lazy, I just thought how we express the same beliefs can cause confusion.
It is why statements of faith help, because over time one can work towards a common language.

So great there is more agreement than some seem to suggest, with sweeping comments of
deceiver and false teacher.....:) God bless you

Remember, the root of his argument is we do not believe in obedience, or preach it. We do not believe in changed lives, and an all powerful God who takes darkness and turns them into light. He is to busy try8ing to puff up how many great works he does and how righteous he is to even see what is really going on..

So he can not fathom that we have or know people who have powerful testimonies.. In fact, if we did, it would go against what he believes, so even if we say it, He will not believe it.
Be merciful unto me a sinner is my testimony.....and All glory to Christ.....it is all him or it is fraudulent......

Three questions:

1. Is salvation a gift?

2. Is grace unmerited?

3. How many sins have yet to be atoned/paid for?

Answers:

1. Yes (Romans 4:4-6, 5:12-17, 6:23, John 4:10, 2 Corinthians 9:15, Ephesians 2:8-9, 3:7, 4:7-8, Acts 2:38)

2. Yes (2 Timothy 1:9, Romans 3:28, 11:5-6, John 3:16, 5:24, 6:28-29, 47, Galatians 3:8, 26)

3. ZERO (Romans 6:10, 1 John 1:7, 29, 2:2, Colossians 1:20, 22 2:13, Hebrews 10:14)

Case closed.
Chaaaaaa chinggggggg....give that man a ceeeeeegaaaaarrrrr

No such thing as unmerited gift in the Bible.

God gives the gift to whomever He wants to give it, and He says he gives it to those who obey Him.

As for our sins being atoned/paid for--- No sin is paid for you personally until you repent of it.
The above view is not only false, but directy from Satan himself.....you have no understanding of the word grace, gift and irrevocable..........man.....your lack of understanding goes beyond the norm....

I don't understand your question. Do you think only Judeans have to obey?
I think you need to start reading scripture in the context within which it was written and the audience for whom it was written first and foremost.

This is called audience relevance.

It would seem by everything you have written so far on here, shows an elevation of verses from James falsely misunderstood btw... to promote "salvation is also by works" and then the suppression of the truth of other verses which plainly state the salvation is completely by grace through faith apart from works.

And please demonstrate to me that those works in Ephesians was only a reference to purification works??

Do you think Jesus taught repent or perish while he walked the earth and then God nailed it to the cross?
God nailed the OLD RULES and REGULATIONS to the cross.

Change your mind and agree with God......that is what repent means....sin is not the issue.......get your head around that fact pal........the sins of the whole world have already been dealt with at the cross!!

You want proof from scripture that the works are the purification works, well here it is:

Ephesians 2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

See how Paul in all his letters NEVER EVER say anything like what you say. Notice Paul says 'not of works' and the word CIRCUMCISION is nearby. Notice that Paul never ever says we are saved by faith and not of repenting of sins, or doing right.

How do we evangelise across denominations?

My approach is to shine like a light and encourage people to seek Jesus in the word and in prayer.
Now I have never found it works to call them deceived, doomed to hell, and inspired by satan.

What does work is to encourage people to seek Jesus, to repent of their sins and to seek resolution
through the cross and seek guidence through His word.

Now this is very different from what I see and hear here, on a daily basis.
Jesus calls us to be a light, to be an example of His Holy Spirit, patience, love, self control, kindness,
goodness.

I have often seen when I say this, rather than yes this is what Jesus calls us to do, I am told how I
have failed, and examples pulled out, as if the issue is perfection rather than being a light to Jesus
is earthen vessels. It strikes me we have legalists who are happy to judge others while giving
themselves no obligationations at all. But then if one is not a vessel of light, or an example of the
work of God in man, then this all makes sense, but suggests if the light is not there, one needs to
find it.

You cannot know Jesus and say sin is not a problem.
Your sin is already forgiven, you are destined for heaven, why do you need Jesus at all?

Sin is not the issue? Sin is what separates us from God.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

A meaningless loop

To obey Jesus is to believe Jesus. If belief was only believing Him, then Jesus does not have
to say anything, whatever He says, if I believe it, I am obeying Him, even if I do not understand
it, obey it, follow it, act on it, or do not act on it.

The only reason this loop is used is because people cannot obey Jesus's commands and want
to ignore them. But again this is absurd as Jesus says this is my commandment to you, to love
one another as I have loved you.

But the emotional truth is do not read the bible, only the bits that make you feel good, and shut
out things that make you feel bad because that is satan.

Once the language says satan, any preacher who causes discomfort, that is satan.
I have never known walking with Christ is anything but discomfort, because I am a redeemed saint
working through my failures and issues, which my whole being wants to ignore and God wants to
gentle mold and teach me how to overcome and walk in His will.

Jesus's way is the way of pain, being hurt, mourning, poor in spirit, forgiving others, being hit, ignored
beaten up, and hated. This is all hard and full of great discomfort, or full of self indulgence or greed.

Blah, blah, blah.....listen pal....you are another working for deceiver.....end of story....the fact you claimed a special revealed knowledge that most do not know and or few know places you into the deceieved fake fraudulent grouping.....so far and in almost every post you have made you have twisted the word of God in such a manner that makes you totally unbelievable.....and your refusal to identify who you associate with speaks multitudes to us all....!!!
Paul was worried that some of them may be deceived just like eve was deceived.

...But I AM AFRAID that just as Eve was DECEIVED by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be LED ASTRAY from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3

The truth is that the deceiver has been deceiving from the beginning until now.

These deceivers will REJECT and NULLIFY the Word and believe the deceiving spirits.(Isaiah 5:20-24, Mark 7:6-13)

...while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:13

...THE SPIRIT CLEARLY SAYS that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through HYPOCRITICAL LIARS, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 1 Timothy 4:1-2

How would we know who were the ones that were deceived?

We know that Eve was deceived when she believed the deceiver and disobeyed God's command.

Who are the deceivers and who were deceived?

..But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

...At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:10‭-‬14‭, ‬24

...For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve. 2 Corinthians 11:13‭-‬15

And those that were deceived believed in the deceivers mentioned above and disobeyed God's commands because they were made to believe that they would not surely die, IOW, "always saved". But scriptures warn us not to be deceived;

...Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. Ephesians 5:6‭-‬7

...Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”... Genesis 3:1‭-‬19

Just think what could have happened if Eve did not believe the serpents deception but OBEYED God instead. ...NO NEED TO DISCUSS SALVATION FOR SURE because no one needs to be saved.

The truth is that Adam and Eve were created according to the image of God's righteousness and holiness and they BELIEVE and OBEY God until they got DECEIVED and disobeyed God. They died when the HOLY SPIRIT left them just as God told them that they "will surely die", which the serpent then used to trick or deceive them by adding a word to God's words. .."you will NOT surely die". The same thing that the deceivers today are doing. They add and omit to words from God's words and say things such as CONTEXT, VERBIAGE, TENSES etc.. then goes smoothly BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN. The best example is the word ALONE which is so simple but has created so much division and misunderstandings.

If they were deceived, why can't you?

Did God warn us about the deception? If He did, then why refuse to take heed of them?

So who would say now that OBEDIENCE TO GOD HAS NO BEARING IN SALVATION?[
