Mark 3:22And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”
23So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.28Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”
30He said this because they were saying, “He has an impure spirit.”

I would invite you to hold whatever opinion you want to, but never, EVER say that again. It's time to stop soft pedaling and call out the warning. YOU JUST VIOLATED MARK 3. Disagree all you want but I BEG you to never do that again.

he's been arrogant about his beliefs since day 1

Regardless of whether the word of God is corrupted, people who reject God are proud and do not want to accept God anyway.
God gives grace to the humble but rejects the proud.
Wicked people all share a common trait, and that is pride. Read through the Psalms and the comparison is always clear.
God destroys the wicked and proud people, but gives eternal life to the righteous, those who are humble and accept God.
You do not have to believe in Jesus or His Father to inherit eternal life [if you are not a believer]. The people who need to be careful are the people who call themselves Christians and go around quoting scripture left right and centre and they do not even understand what the hell they are saying.
Each book of the bible had a specific audience it was addressing with a specific message or point.
The bible is not written to me or you. You can't take the bible and say this is what this scripture means to me. That is ridiculous. That would cause the bible to be an extremely disjointed jumble of scriptures.
The bible is preserved for us to learn from yes, but it is not written to us.
This is the culmination of the cessationists mind and motives
This post is a dire warning to anyone on this path.
This is garbage. What a pit the cessationist digs out.
The "likes" say volumes.
What an embarrassment before heaven.
Pathetic little humanoids straightening out every little flaw with a baseball bat in a china shop.

Now the bible is not written to the church and the cessationists celebrate it.
Woah.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
well there you go again Waggles

what do you have to say about this?

Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? I Corinthians 12:30

you appear to take one verse and make a doctrine out of it when a student of scripture should know better

all do not speak in tongues. period.

the scripture you quote does not indicate that every single believer will speak in tongues.

call Paul a reprobate then. he must be according to you

Was this all not fullfilled from the 12, including Paul?
"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
I am sure the above command has not yet been fulfilled.

I got the impresion that this referred to the body as a whole. One part castng out devils, another speaking with new tongues. The idea of the body consisting of different body parts is Biblical, yes?
that is what scripture plainly states

waggles and another are creating the exact kind of problem that cessationists point to and object to, along with stating baptism is a part of salvation rather than a witness that you are 'a new person' and that you now stand with Christ

it becomes almost cult like when people enforce their interpretation on people

an interpretation that actually conflicts with scripture

All alteady fulfilled through the apostles.
The same kind of apostles that are recorded in scripture are the same "sent ones" the Holy Spirit sends today .

We are sent with the word of God prophecy to include the work on the message boards.. where two or three are gathered together under the authority of His name he is there bringing the teaching..

The commandment go out two by two still applies. Many have added new meaning to the world apostle and have destroyed the usage. violating the law of integrity in (Deuteronomy 4).

Abel was a apostle in the truest sense .He is also the first martyr. His blood cries out to this day

The one sign made manifold using different metaphors is being fulfilled as we speak. This is every time a believer comes to faith .All of those metaphors follow every believer. Its simply a sign a person has believed as God has given them his faith working in them to make it even possible to believe in a God not seen . Not outward sign gifts. Spiritual gifts. not seen...…. yes.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight

The faithless Jew used to represent unbelief in mankind they required a sign before they would believe. They made Jesus into some sort of circus seal do.. Their god less idea was do something to outwardly ( make a sound) confirm something or we will have nothing to do with Jesus.

It was why God mocked those in unbelief... no faith .The sign of tongues confirms their unbelief (no faith) Not Jesus,
who refuses to be a circus seal.

1 Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

John 4:48Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

John 6:30They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

It's what happens when those do not walk by faith according to the prescription in 2 Corinthians 4:18. Hoping in a signs and wonderment or amazement something to excite those dull emotions and call it a gospel. They as it seems need to perform something and use it to confirm what the eyes see the temporal. (snap shot) We don't know God after the temporal rudiments of theis world . Never di never will.

To me it reminds me of Kindergarden "show and tell" . There are no outward as to what the eyse see (the temporal) sign gift. Spiritual gifts not seen yes.

Tongues, God bringing prophecy (the gospel) as one of the manners when he was still adding to His word is a sign of God mocking those who mock his word . Why someone would want to wear that kind of a sign is a mystery?

Once the apostles died and those they had imparted any gifts also died the gifts were no longer available. The gifts served their purpose.. it’s over.
As pointed out a number of times the spiritual gifts did not cease because the church is still here.

The Spiritual gifts, provided to man by the Holy Spirit, are for the continuance of the work Jesus did while here on earth:

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." John 14:12-17

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Born Again Speaking in Tongues and I hope this will clarify a few things...

Receiving the Holy Ghost as they did in the book of Acts, we need to repent, find a church that baptizes full immersion into the water having the NAME of Jesus pronounced over us, and be filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues.

Note, receiving the Holy Ghost can be before or after water baptism but never before repentance.

Now, this initial speaking in tongues is NOT the gift of tongues a stated in 1Corinthians 12, it is the SOUND that Jesus spoke of in his conversation with Nicodemus...

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

When they were filled with the Holy Ghost in Acts chapter 2, they ALL spoke in tongues...

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

When God created all that was created he made a parallel between what is spirit and what is the natural.
When a woman is in the hospital birthing room the baby is born and begins to cry, and we know there is movement, there is sound, there is life.

When we are baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues, as it is with the New Testament Church in Acts, we know there is movement, there is sound, there is LIFE, a baby in the church womb is just birthed forth, and is now Born Again, born of Spirit!

The initial tongues is like having a car...

Although the car has power windows, power locks and radio, none of that is of any use without the battery under the hood. When we get the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues, it is like getting the battery and, now that we have the Holy Ghost the Bible way, we are now candidates to receive and use the power windows, power locks and radio as stated in 1Corinthians 12.

-Thank you.
interesting read. however, some here will complain about the topic as to its frequency, those same types will start one in opposition to this one LOL . I see some oneness doctrine in your thread, are your oneness? It does not matter to me I do not hold the legalistic method of water baptism.

You have really missed the point of the scriptures haven’t you? The healings and the miraculous signs etc were signs for the nation of Israel to prove Jesus was the “Anointed One” and that the twelve were eye witnesses to the things Jesus had done. That was there only purpose. It was not for all time and for everyone.
The operation of gifts today and in the future will continue to provide evidence of the biblical record that Jesus is in fact the messiah for all mankind.

Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 CORINTHIANS 13:8‭-‬13 NASB

I know that this is the passage this secessionist stand on, but it in no way implies that the canonization of the Bible is "the perfect". Which is probably better translated when "the completion comes". Which just the very fact that we have to have translations and that there are some translation difficulties is evidence in itself that this passage isn't speak of canonization. Because that fact alone tells us that knowledge is still required. This passage has to be about personal transformation, when we are face to face, and know as we are known. Perfected in Christ seeing Christ in our new perfected and glorified form. Then the tools of ministry that are required will no longer be required but faith, hope, and love will remain, so the rhetorical point is how much more important the three that will remain are that the temporal ministry tools.
We will see in a glass dimly until we reach out final perfection. And these debates among those who sincerely love the Lord are the empirical evidence.

All saints die not receiving the sign of His promise a new incorruptible body. (Hebrews 11:39 ) Some try and replace it by adding to that one sign.... with things they perform and then use that to confirm something?

I would think those who seek after signs and wonders have a verse that could defend your idea in respect to tongues one of the many manner of prophecy .This is when God was still adding to it. Revelation remains the last book it contains the 7 seals to make sure those who seek after wonderment cannot blame it on God. . Isaiah 28 a good place to start looking at the doctrine of tongues.

Why is those who are seeking after wonderment, amazement to bring excitement to their hearts rather than a contrite heart avoid looking to the foundation of the law of God's mocking those who mock Him and the expansion and therefore conclusion in 1 Corinthians 14:22-23???? It would seem they avoid looking to the law as if it was a plague?

Non sense of sense according to the word of God? It should be not that hard to confirm either way. Are you receiving new revelations that could be added to the Bible? Need more that he has given .

What do you think the "sign" confirms according to the law??

You are correct in your statement that all will live on eternally. However, one's search for and obedience to God's commands found in His word will determine the destiny of each and everyone who has ever lived:

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." Jude 3

Paul makes the following comment to Timothy about the purpose of scripture regardless to whom they were written:

"...the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The holy spirit is ''The Spirit'' of The Father and the people who said those things against His, The Father's Spirit were blasphing because they saw The Father doing the miracles through Jesus and were rejecting Him. The Holy Spirit is not a third person.
There is but One God The Father and One Lord Jesus Christ who is the Son of God, the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of The Father.
The point of Mark 3 is that people had the audacity to say that what was being accomplished through the Holy Spirit of God was coming from the devil.

What is so very sad is that you do not even see that.

Can it possibly be that RickyZ had a sincere concern for another person? People do share what they see in the word out of genuine love. But you seem to take anything that you disagree with as a personal affront. And that is sad.

Houston we have a problem!!!

You were making some fair points til this post, that seems to indicate, if not flat out say, that You deny the Trinity, and deny that Jesus IS God!
Nothing else you say matters if you get THIS wrong.

I always wonder how one's belief in the necessity of water baptism is considered legalistic. Water baptism was devised by God and introduced by John the Baptist as a means for remission of sin for the NT church; it is clearly separate from methods found in the OT law.

And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins; Luke 3:3

God never quit
The church did
Why do you think you are still in this room?
The Holy Spirit.
You are being drawn and dont even realise it
Pardon? I am wrong? And the Apostels did not all this?
When do you cast out the last Demons?

Why you treat me as an unbeliever? Because I do not Support your view?
Imagine you live in the Year 430 ad. And you Meat People from the montanism movement, which Practice prophecie, forbit Marriage, and said that martyrium directly lead to God, had a high Moral.
Sounds good and right in an wordly christianity as it was found in those Time, too.
But if you Go back to the beginning with the founder Montanus, you found that he was a false Prophet. This was he prophecies became not True and he claimed that the paraklet(Holy Spirit) direct speak through Him. Would you trust then this movement?
