My point is, Jesus can not be instructing us to hold on something and then run behind our backs to hold it up Himself. It is your job to hold up what you are supposed to hold up and that is faith otherwise you loose it.
Ok.

Let me say I don't believe in a passive relationship with God.
I need the help of God to be like him.
That's why we have the Holy Spirit in us.
Our helper.

Come to Christ and receive rest.

Do you think your own effort is going to make you a living sacrifice acceptable to God?

Or do you think Christ working in you is more likely to make you acceptable to God?

Who is more wise?
Who is stronger?

You and your efforts? Or Christ and His?
We receive rest because His command is not burdensome; we are required to love one another, simple.
Loving others is our duty.

Matt 25:
31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

You surely do not believe it was Christ who fed Himself through these people, i know they voluntarily fed the needy and righteousness was imputed to their works.

renewing your mind Will require physical effort just In case someone Is watching talking about that's not true but GOD has done the work In you and now you not only have a desire to do good works but you also have been Equipped.

JESUS IS the VINE and we are members of HIS body/branches receiving sustenance from the VINE Displaying Spiritual fruit and establishing the law.

ALL the law and the prophets Is summed up In one word,Love.

The fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23
King James Version

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

people know If you care about them or not.
A gentle touch and a kind word to someone suffering emotionally can open a door to someone receiving CHRIST.
Agreed, faith accompanied with works and not faith alone.

That's ok. God works everything in us but part of this work is to give us a command and by obeying this command we become one with Him. What He can not do is give us a command and then cause us to obey the command, this part is voluntary.

1 John 4:
13This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19We love because he first loved us. 20Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

"And we all having been unveiled [perfect tense] in face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit." 2Cor3:18

[referring to the Risen/Glorified/Exalted Lord Jesus Christ-- ..."the glory of Christ (which we behold in the gospel as in a mirror from which it is reflected), 2 Corinthians 3:18." (<--this quote from BibleHub)]

This is in contrast to the "still-veiled" ones earlier in the passage

Ok.

But what do you mean by "He just enlightens us"
What is your understanding of the word spirit? what part of us is spirit? or what part of us connects with spirit?

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: […]" 2Tim3:5a

[disconnected from the Power-Source, and our "good works" are filthy rags without Life ;) ]

If when we come to Christ all we do is rest, How do we produce fruit? If when we come to Christ all we do is rest, what does it matter what ground the seeds fall on, either He does it all or He does not do it all? If when we come to Christ the Holy Spirit leads us everywhere we need to go then why are we told to "study...." or "seek.." or "take was is given us and produce more or lose what we have" or "fill our vessels with oil" or "put on the gospel armor" or to "overcome" or to "not take the mark" or "to not sin" or "to one of the other millions of things we are told? If we are not to do anything on our own why didn't God just stop at puppies?

The spirit connects with the mind or rather the spirit is the understanding because the only process that happens in the mind is understanding.
So, the effects of the Holy spirit to us is to give us understanding of TRUTH. By understanding the truth, it can be said you have worshiped in truth and in spirit.

From this understanding, you voluntarily do things based on the understanding. You can also choose not to do and that is sin.

Matt 25:
14For it is just like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted them with his possessions. 15To one he gave five talents,b to another two talents, and to another one talent—each according to his own ability. And he promptly went on his journey.

16The servant who had received the five talents went and put them to work and gained five more. 17Likewise, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18But the servant who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his master’s money.

19After a long time, the master of those servants returned to settle accounts with them. 20The servant who had received the five talents came and presented five more. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’

21His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’

22The servant who had received the two talents also came and said, ‘Master, you entrusted me with two talents. See, I have gained two more.’

23His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your master!’

24Finally, the servant who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Master, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So in my fear, I went and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what belongs to you.’

26‘You wicked, lazy servant!’ replied his master. ‘You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27Then you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and on my return I would have received it back with interest.

28Therefore take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 30And throw that worthless servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Again. it is our duty to nurture faith or else we loose even the little that we have.

I agree it is the wrong perspective - I had mentioned it only because I have told that line by one person here on CC.

Sorry sometimes I just want to respond to a certain portion of the post and it would be speculation to state they are in the lake of fire.
_____________

And as for being forgiven for sin on a daily basis that doesn't really work because Jesus is no longer on the cross.

Our forgiveness isn't dependent upon God's present mercy, but Jesus' once and for all sacrifice for all time for all from 2000 and some years ago.

We are reconciled.

And we are in possession of positional sanctification.

Hebrews 10:10
10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
LOL! OK, now I get it! Mercy, me, how hilarious! If you look carefully at that post #1899 you will see that the first part is simply a mistake that I have no idea how it got there! That is not my writing at all -- I obviously somehow had copied that, didn't know it and got it on that post completely by mistake. I was just in too big a hurry to ever notice it!

The only part that is mine is this below: I think I was answering the the first line here: the second line is my words:

I guess my point is that God deals with his children so the whole becoming "the worst sinner in the world" is the wrong perspective.[/QUOTE]

It’s their fault.
If it is their fault/weakness (those that fail to produce fruits) then it is also wise to say that those that produce fruits produce because of their strength.

In earlier posts, I already provided the following verses:

"Likewise, my brothers, you also have been put to death to the Law through [/by means of] the body of Christ, for you to belong to Another, to the One having been raised out from the dead, so that [/in order that] we should bear fruit to God." Romans 7:1-4

"having been filled with the fruit of righteousness, which is by means of Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God." Philippians 1:11 [part of Paul's prayer for them, in view of "the Day of Christ"]

"20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through [/by means of] Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen." Hebrews 13:20-21

Also Romans 8:1-4 "in order that the righteousness OF the law might be fulfilled IN us [not BY us!]"
