But those who do not believe are condemned ALREADY... well wait, what about next week or next year? Maybe something will come up and then I will believe. What do you mean condemned ALREADY?
oh, because you are the alpha and omega and the names written in the book of life and the names not written in the book of life isn't going to change. Oh, I see.

So a person must be 100% perfect in both the amount of trust and "object" of said trust. You set an impossibly too high bar to reach. Even the Pharisees did not expect such effort from mere men.

Only Christ is perfect and even He had to learn submission and so must we.
Only Christ is perfect and even He had to be obedient and so must we.

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him ----Hebrews 5:7-9

This scripture and many others had no place in the Bible if salvation comes before our submission. We may debate on what needs to be obeyed but not the need to obey

Salvation void of our obedience is absurd.
It’s not impossible to trust 100% in Jesus Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation, which is the opposite of trusting in our works for salvation. That has nothing to do with us being perfect, but placing our faith in the One who is perfect to save us.

In regards to Hebrews 5:9, who obeys Him? The saved or the lost? *Only believers have obeyed Him by choosing to believe the gospel (Romans 1:16) in order to become saved, and only believers obey Him after they have been saved through faith by "keeping" (Greek word "tereo" - guarding, observing, watching over) His commandments and practicing righteousness and not sin (1 John 2:3; 3:9,10). *In either sense, only believers obey Him.

Unbelievers have not obeyed Him by refusing to believe the gospel (Romans 10:16; 1:16) and without faith its impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), so unbelievers do not obey Him no matter how much "so called" obedience that they attempt to conjure up through the flesh in a vain effort to obtain salvation by works. *So in either sense, unbelievers do not obey Him.

To obey Christ is to adhere to his claim as the Son of God and believe.
Why do you think he gave the famous sermon on the mount? Do you really believe it was preached as a tortuous pathway to salvation? It doesn't fast-forward the listener or reader into new Christianity (since most rabbi's in that time were teaching the same thing which are mainly teachings from Psalms).
I believe the sermon on the mount along with other teachings of Jesus are to abolish any hopes of self righteousness. Or thinking you can do anything for your salvation without God upholding you and making it possible.

Jesus gave 2 new commandments. We know what they are, and if you do them then you have already accomplished your good works, for love of God and your neighbor will lead good works around by a nose ring.
There is no other way.

Christ gave his life for the whole of humankind for ALL have come short of the glory of God. However only a few accept God's gift of free salvation, while others who expect to sit at the banqueting table like the five virgins, will find there is no room. Do not be one of them. They did not keep watch as they should have done, until the end.

Well what if you never cared to believe and God made it so? What if you didn't even care about the Bible and God made it your bread and butter?
I never asked for all I have received, and at times I am still beside myself in wonder and amazement, and if God revealed his righteousness and truth to me and then passes the torch to me then I can honestly say that I don't want to believe because it's the same as not believing.
If my disobedient self listened to half of you I would never be free of the sting of death for I am much weaker than it, and God's righteousness.
If God opened my eyes and ears just to drop the hot potato in my lap, I'm dropping it back quickly and with surety.

That is what the five wise virgins did, and that is what we all need to do, right until the end. :)

Not sure what you mean by defining "keep". I never used the word in my comment.
You speak of keeping the commandments. How can we seeing we are dead in our trespasses and sin? To keep is to guard .We guard the work of Christ's faith.... it keeps our new born again spirit alive

How can soooo many people believe a lie and claim to have the spirit of truth (which is necessary for eternal life)
Who here will be be cast from his presence that HE never knew?
Scary thought cuz there's only one truth, and there's much disagreeing.. Scary thought.... Funny thing, I'm not unsure in the least

I firmly believe Satan in the god of the internet.

Furthermore, I believe the moderators have a duty to ensure we have the FULL gospel and not only a portion.

Keep dreaming pal....stirring the candle stick away is about authority and every one of the cited examples you tried to use to peddle the lie of losing salvation is lumped under the victory of FAITH genius....and you got that right....a circus clown indeed

So where does this leave us? Salvation for all

All who strove to be better are there just like you, who strove not to be.

Now we stand, in front of God and what is God, God is JUST. Time for Gods recompense and reward.

Did God gift you with aa "milk" truth? How did you handle that? What did that bring about? What was brought out of you? Did you promote along the way of the love and goodness and compassion of the commandments of Jesus, through the "teaching?? of it?
Have you "emboldened" others, by your approach to jump in on the beating up of those seeking out the Word?

If you forego and ignore all of Gods Will to present it, aren't you knowingly just poking God in the eye? Do you think He gifted you with that so you would go beat up on His servants, His children seeking for truth in a fashion that would make the adversary cringe.

And with a truly heavy heart, I pray you are ignorant, not proud.

Faith void of our compliance to God's instructions is a faith spoken of in John 8:31.

Can we have a sincere moment of faith in Jesus Christ and still end our life as unsaved? Yes.
God is sovereign and is not bound to our sense and sensibilities.

You may have convinced yourself that God is bound to your moment of sincere faith as irrevocable but you are wrong.

OSAS is a feel good notion without a biblical example.

God has withdrawn His protection many times in the Bible. If you think He is constrained to keep anyone under His protection, tell that to the churches in Rev. 2.

God has never withdrawn his protection from his new creation the church as His eternal bride.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which "believed on him", If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8: 31

And in doing so believing ….

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.John 8: 32

The verse in John is not a challenge (do not eat of the fruit of unbelief or you will die).. but words of encouragement confirming Philippians 1:6

Salvation hinges on the word If . If he begun... a good work he is our confidence we are to put no confifdence in the temporal thgings seen

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:philippians 1:6

This brother in Christ and born again son of God has been used to help many see the truth. The gospel. (good news)

Many of those who would claim to be "seeking the truth" when caught in their false doctrine reject the truth and even hate it. Pushing devilish lies which belittle Gods mercy and grace, the work of Jesus and try to elevate themselves to the point of savior.

They muddy God's free gift with the false doctrine they peddle and try to make it a reward based on performance.

It means your already in a condemned state

As all people are UNTIL they come to the gospel. In which case. Christ redeems them, and they are no longer in a condemned state.

Die in that state, and you will remain in that state

I think jesus gave the gospel in that sermon in part. His first words were blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God.

Its a poor english translation. The greek text states basically blessed are those who are bankrupt. Out of money, out of hope. Desperate. Brought to their knees, In deed of SOMEONE to save them (like the tax collector)

For theirs is the kingdom.. why? Because ONLY they will receive Gods grace and forgiveness. Totally broken. Like the tax collector. On his knees.

This thread says that if people turn their back on God, rejecting him and his salvation, they will still be saved.
