I have pointed this out before. It is amazing how they literally think that a consent to a doctrine is all it takes!

Interesting details.

So this thread is literally attractant to to those who either Love Gods Commandments, or those who shun them! And just look at what we see.

Hmmmph!

SG:)
Everyone here loves Gods commands.

You would know that if you would get off your preconceived idea that everyone is out to get you, and what you think we believe!

Paul didn't write the bible, he wrote down the words God inspired him to write, so nobody "follows" Paul. You are implying that Paul teaches a completely different message than Jesus and that's not true.

One more thing on Paul's inspired words, I agree, but there i a caveat placed there for our admonition by the Holy Spirit;

2Pe 3:15-17 KJV And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; (16) As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. (17) Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

We are warned to READ VERY CAREFULLY so as not to "wrest" them to say what they do not.

There are other caveats in scripture

Agreed.

And truth not only can be shared, It can also be called out..

I have no problem with you calling me out if I do wrong, Many have done it, and I have acknowledged and cofessed those sins.

But when you call me (one who disagrees with you) out. And yet refuse to call epople out who agree with you who do the very same thing you are accusing me of.

(You had a chance to do that yesterday, But up until now have failed to do it)
Where there is a word for that.

I will let you figure out what that word is..
I get notifications of those who reply to me.

I don't know about you (maybe you're retired now) but I work. I dont have time to read every single post in this thread, which is what you're asking me to do: to police the thread. Start a campaign to make me a moderator then.

YOU responded to me.

YOU chose to be confrontational with me when you absolutely don't have to be. For example KJV is actually respectful to me though we're clearly on different sides of the topic of this thread.

Take ANY...and I mean ANY post from any thread we've engaged in over 6 years since I've been here, and you will ALWAYS find me being respectful to you whenever I cut into a conversation you're not having with me, even when it's to tell you "that's incorrect".

It's only when I read your disdain that I turn on my wit.

And lately, because our interactions always seem to devolve into some sparing match that's branches off into the stratosphere lol, I rarely if ever actually engage you anymore.

But since I've been back it's YOU who engage me and it's always with some snide comment of who or what I am. Talking around me but not at me, though at me. Passively.

So stop this juvenile act when you're over 50 years old.

I'm too busy for these games.

Greetings NayborBear,

It's funny but I mentioned this type of heart attitude towards the commandments where people shun them and do as you brought up here that an intellectual ascent is all you need to a neighbor, and they said; "they must be gittin paid!" No kidding! Now there's just plain old raw wisdom! :)

SG
You and naylor bear are both bearing false witness, And I wish more people would chasten you for your sins.

It is funny how people who preach how we should be obedient to Gods commands, on a daily basis BREAK gods commands. Because they have to do this in order to support their own belief system.

Did you read the passage? You say essentialy "I follow Paul" Paul here redirects those who say that to "Follow Christ"!

We are not to follow "Good Christians" we are to follow "Christ".

I am not saying anything about Paul, at all! But Paul is not Christ who Paul says to follow.
Did not Paul follow CHrist? If he did not. Why did God allow his words to be inspired in scripture?

Please don't put words in my mouth. How did Jesus live? Imitate that.

When you say;
KJV1611 - "I'm like Paul, I find those things difficult, they are still a burden for me... well not really a burden because I delight in the law, I just know I'm not capable of it nor am I expected to be capable of it." KJV1611 End Quote

You are not leaning on the Grace of God to accomplish the walk of Christ, rather you seem to lean back on Paul's testimony prior to his conversion. Hey, commiserating is Human, but Faith in Jesus through His Holy Spirit is Faith. That's where I have been encouraging everyones focus. Not on me or Paul or anyone. We all must look to Jesus as the one to Follow.
Once again you missed the whole point of what he was trying to say..

He used paul as an example. Because paul did what he was talking about..

Whatever

Use whatever excuse you want.

You all do it. You all have been doing it since you have been here.

So forgive me if I see a pattern And it continues

I work also. But I still read every post.. How else am I goin to follow along in the thread??

Once again, Until you want to call other out. Just leave your condemnation of me by the wayside, because it will go noweher, You want to talk about the word. Lets talk. You want to continue to defend yourself. Go find another person to talk to.

When every bible version says "the earth WAS" and you change it to BECAME, there's an issue there.
Sometimes? One must use that "grey matter" between one's ears (think), in determining things to which empirical evidence, such as archeology, has shown to be "different" then what was once believed to be factual. In the "growing" of one's "faith." (merely, ONE, of the "fruit of the Spirit").
Such as we know the earth is not flat. This was not the case, even up to 700-800 years ago!
Such as, this "blue marble" is "millions, if not billions" years old. As archeology has shown by means of carbon dating.
We know this current earth age, by biblical records, is but 6,000 years old er thereabouts.
Millions, if not billions of years, verses 6,000 years? Wonder what happened before 6,000 years ago? Greek Mythology, perhaps? Dinosaurs, perhaps?
The "grey matter" man uses is only 7-10% capacity of that which mankind is able to measure? Wonder what transpires in the remaining 90-93%?

hey man, welcome back!!

what mr. gardener teaches is Hebrew roots, which is easy to research, and one of it's lies is that Paul's writings at times contradict Jesus, and therefore are not authoritative Scripture.

Paul does throw a wrinkle in the Hebrew Roots theology lol.

How awesome is it that Paul's writings are so liberating for the believer that the works people will claim that he wasn't converted.

And thanks for the greeting, good to be back! At least for a little while.

You all do it. You all have been doing it since you have been here.
Lol ^^this^^ is the problem. You seem to believe that "we" don't belong here.

Ok let's discuss scripture then.

You believe that no one should try to obey any laws from Moses after salvation citing James 2:10 several times.

But in Acts 15

1. Did the apostles give the gentiles a command from the law of Moses to follow after salvation?

2. Doesn't this conflict with your understanding of what James says? If not why not?

If you "crucify yourself WITH Christ", everyday? And not crucifying yourself with Paul?
Then you are following "God's Conditions!"
Strictly adhering to Paul's teachings? That's not gonna save you!
It'll preserve you (everlasting)!
Not save you (eternally)!

Perhaps, it is because of the "gentilic nature", the "council in Jerusalem" wished not to add more burden to the gentiles?
Paul taught, as unto "babes!"
But, was not his INTENTION for the gentiles in REMAINING "babes!"

And that's that! Don't tell anybody but I cook my cornbread in a round skillet, so I know what those college types are talkin bout! See, don't count us country types out, just when you least suspect it....we get a thought! :) Gotta laugh at yerself. ;)

I would love to discuss.

But see, I have never made or insinuated anything that even resembles what you say here. So not sure how I could possibly answer you. Since your question is based on a false premise to begin with.

You see there issue here is not is the law and the commands not good. Or is it ok to break them

the issue is BY WHAT POWER. OR BY WHAT MEANS DO WE OBEY THEM!

Oh one other thing, If man only uses 7-10 percent of his capacity could that mean that is also how accurate we are? ;) if that's the case and we came up with 7-10 % of our brain being used, maybe it's really <1% HA! Now that makes more sense!, Sorry, Had to do it! ;)

Ok. Did the apostles give the gentiles the instruction not to eat meat with blood in it? And is that in the law of Moses?

Ok we'll leave this alone. I'm not going down yet another rabbit trail away from what I've been trying to discuss with you.

I'll wait for your answer to my question, as I know you like to quote in separate posts.

What scripture calls rabbit-trails:

Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless.

Arguments and quarrels about the law.
But all scripture is profitable - - how is this so?
Well, because we're not under the law. We don't study it quibbling about what's legal or not - but how it informs us of Christ.

So it think, the 'rabbit trail' is trying to to see the law in the new testament. The profitable thing, is to see Christ in the scripture. This is the gist of what I've been trying to point out about Acts 15: its not about the law of Moses ; it's about the law of our King: loving one another as Christ loves.

We ought to understand what the Spirit signified by commanding Noah not to eat blood, and that will inform us about what the fulfillment is in righteousness. Simply saying, the Law says, so don't, is both unprofitable for understanding and senseless in that it denies the great work of Christ in redeeming us: we are not under the law.
