Did Jesus ever tell us that we no longer need to keep the law of Moses?

What are your thoughts on the following article (generally speaking--not every jot and tittle of it... mainly the general point quoted below)?

It`s inspirational, nice, Not really getting the "from the shadows to Christ" as Hebrews is clearly addressing an audience who are already strong experienced believers.

I`m not a lost tribe buff but as I understand it no one has been able to prove for sure what happened to them, likelyhood many of them back in Israel at the time of Christ.

Do you know what Paul is refering to when he says "law of sin and death" ?
2 Corinthians 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

It`s a reference to the power of the law to judge sinners and false brethren. It`s not calling the law the law of sin. The death isn`t even a law per se, it`s a consequence, a reward.

So, hence my question. But perhaps I must make it more explicit. Can you explain to me, in detail, how "Ye shall have no other gods before me," is a ministry of death? Because, if that is the ministry of death, then, by definition, the ministry of life would be indifference to having other gods, least we be accursed.
See. Its your initial premise that is wrong.

You shall have no other gods before me is a good command.

But you aren't good. At some point you will begin to worship something else, rather than God Himself. Maybe just for a moment, maybe for a long time, maybe not even realizing it.

Maybe you don't think that God can give you Power to obey His Commandments and so you place YOUR WILL above Gods Will and you go about trying to fulfill Spiritual Commands by your carnal will. Maybe you THINK you are fulfilling commandments. But you aren't. You are placing your will in front of God. Your will has become your god instead of God being God.

So now, this command that was good has become DEATH to you. Because death is required of those who break Gods Commands.


The Ministry of Life is not indifference. The Ministry of Life is the Power required to obey God. Not the carnal understanding of obeying 10 commands. Actual power to abide in Christ and obey God.

Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Do you understand what Paul is saying here?

The 10 commandments show a person their sin.

Thus, their death.

That's simply why Paul calls the 10 commandments the law of sin and death.


That's what the 10 commandments do, each time, every time. You can love them by the inner man. But as soon as you look to them to try and obey them in your own carnal will and understanding they will do to you what they have always done. Show you your sin and death. And your need for Christ.

That's why the letter is unto death.

That's why those who work at the law are under the curse.

The law is established by God, by covenant, mankind does not have the power to establish the law.
When he says we establish the law he means that our Faith in Christ and what is written on our Hearts and Minds when we are reborn is what the Law intended all along. It Establishes the Law. Even though we aren't working at it like the Jewish nation.

The Spirit of the Law and not the Letter of the Law.

It`s faith gives the law it`s power now. That`s the establish, you can`t establish what was already there.
