Joh 14:15 NIV

(15) "If you love me, you will obey what I command.

Joh 14:23 NIV

(23) Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Joh 15:10 NIV

(10) If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love.

1Jn_5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,

Perhaps you once valued obedience, and accountability and left it behind.
Yep

What the one key word.

Love

Why do you keep ignoring it?

Was jesus wrong?

So your view is the Lord Jesus brought in the Spiritual Aspect of the New Covenant but the Literal aspect He will bring in at a later date?

I do have to admit that I didn't like the implication of what you were saying right off the bat.

Which I am sure you wouldn't like the implication of what I believe right off the bat, either.
To answer your question: yes, literal fulfillment cannot happen until all Israel is saved per the prophecy, and they become a nation of priests for the world. It`s the reason for the 1000 year kingdom of Christ on earth.

We won`t inherit until the 1st resurrection and not long after, Israel will get straightened out.

Need to be clearer.

Do you think Paul is saying follow my lead because I am following Christ as it should be done

or

Do you think Paul is saying you need to follow Christ, see I am following Christ too..

Please pick one or offer clarifications because the difference is important.

Why does everyone see it by you?

Hey DeighAnn,

What you have to recognize is that those who have not the Spirit of God cannot understand or even conceptualize the idea that anyone would want to, desire to, even enjoy keeping Gods laws even if they didn't get any reward whatsoever for it! Everything they do is carefully, strategically formulated to deal benifit to them. Whereas we love God and Neighbor and do these things out of love.

There is a gap, a chasm, a spiritual barrier. You cannot teach spirituality to a carnal man.

SG :)
Is that your problem?

Who made you God

Yes, that can be hard, and we have to be honest and open satan comes as an angel of light, he has mastered the idea of taking words of truth and changing them ever so slightly and presenting them as truth from god, and its so easy to fall for it.
Yeah I have met some "pastors" that were fully committed to evil in their lives privately and teaching falsehoods on purpose, yet many ppl I knew respected them and would shun me for even hinting at it, but at the same time some ppl kept noticing and ppl continually left. The other ppl kept asking why is everyone leaving, the "pastor" if that particualr place said stuff like "they are blinded" Crazy.

Paul is saying "Follow Me".

"I am following Christ".

He's not saying "try to emulate me because I am trying to emulate Christ."

He's also not saying "try to emulate Christ the way I am trying to emulate Christ."

He's saying Follow me as I show you how its done. And how I show you what is and isn't needed.
Some people have a problem reading plain words

Here;

1 John 3:4, "Whoever commits sin, transgresses also the Law; for sin is the transgression of the Law."

Matt 13:41-43, "The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear."
The curse of the law is death

Thats why it was given, so we would see our death and come to christ

The law showed how redemption would be accomplished

Death was in effect long before the law

As you can see anove, so e people do not see it

I didn't say focus on the law i have been saying focus on Jesus, but also those in the new covenant will have God's law in their mind and heart:

Hebrews 8:10, " For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Can't be in your mind and not think about it.
If your loving people, you do jot have to think about t, because you wont break it, thats the point.

When god says he writes his laws in our heart, he is not talking about the ten commands, he is talking about his wasy

H explained his ways, it starts with love because god is love

If studying the law is so dangerous why did Paul tell Timothy it was profitable for doctrine, reproof and instruction for rightousness?

I have a view directly from the word:

Isaiah 61:1-2, " 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;"

This talks about loving and serving, which is what i have been saying all day

Similar to those in the new covenant:

Hebrews 8:10, " For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Ezekiel 36:26-27, " 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.
Israels problem is they loved self, and could not love others

God writes his law on our heart by showing us how to love and serve as in your first passage

Fake believers cannot produce the fruits of the Spirit And for a fruitful believer works do prove something.
Nope, but they sure can do good things

I know i have seen them

As scripture also says, gentiles who do not have the law can do them

Works prove nothing

Yes a true child will work, but if work is all we look at, you may mistake a true child from a false child

There is something else that happens.

I didn't say Jesus was too perfect to follow. You keep saying that.

I keep telling you that Paul shows us HOW to follow Christ.

But you keep missing that.

What I am saying is that God is too perfect to emulate by your own understanding and your own strength. But you can't quite grasp it.

It doesn't seem too exasperating for a Christian to tell you that you need Christ.

But to you it is. Kind of weird.
IM good, Jesus says He is the example to follow:

John 13:15, “For I (Jesus) gave you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.”

Hey brother thanks for being able to have a normal conversation, even if we end up in the end disagreeing you have shown many how one can disagree and actually have a disussion.

Look forward to conversing with you in he future,
I feel the same way, and honeslty I feel like we do agree on a lot, and the main thing that is most important IMO is that Jesus is the way and we should follow Him, so that is really great!

I think God's laws always existed, if not what satan did in the garden would be ok. Also Moses led them OUT of egypt, they had forgotten the right way. How did Abraham follow God's laws if they did not exist until Moses?

Genesis 26:5, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”
