They trusted not the ways and laws of God, but their own hearts and minds/ themselves. They were so sure "their" way was right, they couldn't hear or see what was being shown them. Be merciful to me "a transgressor of your law/sinner", the spirit in me leading me to repentance, not one who did as " they" thought or felt was right /did it their way.
And remember who they were

we see a few of them in here..

Says the one who is justifying his sinfulness

i am not justifying mine

i am owning it,

when will you own yours? And stop denying yours?

Col 3:1-10 KJV
(1) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
(2) Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
(3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
(4) When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
(5) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
(6) For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
(7) In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
(8) But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
(9) Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
(10) And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

Your version of grace keeps you "owning sin", Obedience is "disowning sin".

You once said you tried to disown sin, but became very discouraged....Why?

Seems you have become a persecutor, a fault finder. Picking at a person has no effect on if the law is valid or not. But you have made this a personal trial or sorts. Yes I do celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, but I know not perfectly. Just like yes I follow Jesus but no not perfectly. Some years I have been better on my celebration of Tabernacles than others, some years yes some years no.

I see it has been a while since you posted a verse and have focused on finding faults within my walk. Very sad.

Matthew 5:17-18, " 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

heaven and earth has not yet passed. All has not yet been fulfilled.

No, my version of grace owns the fact i am a sinner, who still needs Christ, and now matter what the sin is, or how small i think it is, it is worthy of death. So my eyes are always focused up and not in

your version of whatever you call it lies to yourself saying you obey the law. Says your sin does not stink, and keeps you focused in, not up....

And lest we forget, as we have witnessed in here, claims your sin is not even sin.

By some proposed logic, this statement could be rendered as truth,
"If you follow the law of love you are a law keeper and as such are responsible for all the laws to be kept perfectly".

Interesting choice of words, I think this is exactly the way the Pharisees talked to Yahshua/Jesus!

Your transformation is nearly complete.

So riddle me this, if you would.
Is it better to focus up and not in?
Or, better to focus in, then up, and then out?

But through Christ we repent for that sin, wherein we find forgiveness, freeing us from the death of sin, from its bondage, and burden. Oh death where is thy sting? Correct?

NBB,

Many speak little about the Law, much about their sin and the Grace that covers it when as I shared with Gp a few days ago:

You have disregarded, lost faith in;

Php 4:13 KJV
(13) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

You have disregarded and lost faith in;

2Co 5:17 KJV
(17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Note the conditional "if". This is telling on you GP!

By your statements you say "you cannot do things through CHrist, " You do not find strength to overcome",

No focus on work! On Denial! On Repentance!

Thank God you are honest -- you could very well lie and say "yes, I eat my meals in a Sukkah".

The purpose of this thread is to test my interpretation of the differences between Jesus and Paul. I believe that before the cross the Lord Jesus expounded the law of God given to the Hebrews through Moses. After the resurrection, however, the risen Christ used Paul and other apostles to preach salvation by (true) grace through (true) faith, apart from the Mosaic Law.

I will be happy if I am (really) proved wrong because the sooner I abandon a false doctrine the better for myself and for those who hear me.

It is not you who will be proved wrong.....It is a matter of acknowledging the righteousness of Yahshua.

You err when you declare that someone must prove you wrong. God gave us countless written confirmations of what He wills. Jesus spoke words , left it like that and even confirmed it in Revelations. To first presume that we should pick up a notion contrary to His last words and run with it and then say; "this is my doctrine and I'm sticking to it until you prove me wrong" abandons your responsibility in the matter, meaning you are stuck with what you have.

When Yahshua came was the world tripping over themselves to adopt His teachings? NO.

When He left was the world tripping over themselves to adopt His teachings? NO!

Those who "sought Him" found Him. If you have taken the position; "I know Jesus never told me not to keep the Laws, and in fact left here saying we were to" and now do not keep the Law, then God owes you nothing. You have made a choice to be contrary on the assumption that your interpretations of Pauls message says, you are okay.

Marcelo, You are where you want to be.

I am not defying anyone to prove me wrong; read again what I wrote.

I see you guys don't keep a big portion of the law of God given to the Hebrews through Moses, but don't worry; God will not punish you for that. Not even religious Jews today keep the Mosaic Law because it was made for a theocracy in which the Hebrews lived before the New Covenant era.

When we repented and accepted Yahshuas sacrifice for our sins we were "justified".

Scripture depicts this as being given a "robe of Christs righteousness" In that state a man through obedience is to be Baptized and then he is to seek diligently the anointing of the "Holy Spirit" through which a mans heart is filled with the desire to do Gods will. Scripture also speaks of keeping the robe clean with the Blood of Yahshua. "If", not "when" we sin, by breaking a commandment of God we are to "repent" and pray for forgiveness. So yes we are held accountable for sins against God.

Note; A theocracy means God rules the Civil and Spiritual aspects of a country. A democracy means men have replaced God with a man for the civil, but God still rules our spiritual lives. Are you inferring that a man is not obliged to the laws of God if they do not live in a theocracy, or that any laws a democracy makes that prohibit Gods laws and judgements be left out?

God forgave me when he said it was finished

i still confess my sins, and bow down at his throne

but as i unconditionally forgive my kids, my heavenly father has forgiven me.

It is a commandment. Does that make it a law?

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:37-41

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love
one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

because if you are trying to be justified by works of law you are trying to earn or maintain salvation. like the galatians start in spirit end in flesh.

to keep law of Christ (or strive to do so more realistic) is sanctification not justification. and because your side of camp always mixes these we are up in arms because that.

i love it that God saves us with eternal salvation
