it is very very simple. Love your God with all your heart, soul and mind. Strip yourself of any theology, religion, religious doctrine, pomp and ceremony, traditions, false scripture. In other words, stand before Jesus naked and free, worship him, build a personal relationship with him and his Father , and they will be your life. Anything less is unacceptable

I don't think those that hold an incorrect Christology are going to just fess up. Lol. I think that they probably think they are correct thussly would answer your poll correctly.
i agree; i think what we have here is an example of poor survey design. the data collected is going to be biased in such a way that it's not useful for statistical prediction.

It seems correct Christology, would cause a man to teach as Jesus and his followers did, not attempt to "smoke out" people with wrong beliefs. That's more like a Tomas de Torquemada type of thing to do.
what about when Jesus said they had to eat His flesh & drink His blood or they could not be His disciples? ((John 6))
many people who had been following Him left at that point. was He kind of '
weeding people out' ? vv. 64-65 says He knew who did not truly believe ((duh, He's omniscient)), and would betray Him, and He says "this is why I told you no one can come to Me unless the Father has enabled them"
all those people leaving Him when He says the things in this chapter - i believe it certainly didn't surprise Him; more likely He intended it.

Here is one that says the opposite:

Luke 12:51 "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:"

i think this division He speaks of is as that between sheep & goats, not division among His own sheep.
when the apostle beseeches us not to be always quarreling and biting at each other, but rather to be of one mind, he isn't urging us to undo the work of Christ.

You sound like a Jimmy Swaggart disciple.

That you repeatedly put "sound doctrine" in quotes, and repeatedly avoid stating what you believe "sound doctrine" to be, tells me that you hold to aberrant doctrine. If you're a Swaggart disciple, it explains everything.
Jimmy would capitalize Sound Doctrine tho ;)

JESUS CHURCH [/QUOTE]
Actually you will not find this designation in the New Testament. It is simply "the Church" or "the Church of God". And then you have the various local churches in the different cities of the Roman empire, e.g. the church at Rome.

All those are are children of God are within the Church of God, since Christ (God) has purchased them with His own blood.

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the Church of God, which he hath purchased with His own blood. (Acts 20:28)

Walk trough the valley
i think that not caring whether your understanding and belief about the things of God are true or not is a pretty terrible state of affairs.

perhaps someone can tell me whether my thought is theologically correct or not .. ?
"Lean not on your understanding but trust in the Lord." "Now we know in part but then we shall know fully." "We walk by Faith not by sight." "If any man thinks he knows, he does not know as he ahould, but if anyone Loves God the same is known of Him."
If we think we know we stop learning, its contagious: If your taught by someone you wont go further than that. We nwed to be led by the Spirit to go on to perfection. "God resists the proud (who think they are corect) but gives grace to the humble."

Do you believe it is necessary to believe sound doctrine?

Can I just say as well
what is the definition of theology-isn’t that a man made term.

Wisdom and theology are two different things.

Wisdom is from the Holy Spirit.
Speaking of which - did King Solomon have good theology or was his wisdom a gift. If a gift who gave him that gift.

I will give you a hint. Solomon did not get a theological degree from any man made university.
-ology as a suffix means 'study of' or 'knowledge of' and 'theos' means 'god'

so theology means knowledge of god, little g. you could define correct theology as knowledge of God, big G: the true God.

in that sense, knowledge of God isn't confined to things learned in some kind of formal school. that doesn't mean you can't get knowledge of God through a center of study devoted to such knowledge; it means it ain't the only place it's available. Solomon ccertainly has knowledge of God - 'correct theology' per my working definition. there were 'schools of prophets' in Israel, which i reckon you could compare to seminaries these days. maybe there were good ones vs. poor ones i dunno. but seeing that Solomon was king, and princes generally are brought up with the best schooling and instruction, and that Solomon in particular loved wisdom & knowledge and understanding ((if you've read his books it's obvious he's constantly harping on about these things)), i don't think it's out of the question that he 'attended' such a school - probably more likely had personal tutors tho.

i get what you're saying of course Miri; his wisdom ((his knowledge of God)) was given to him by God Himself, not the product of schooling. and yeah, absolutely, agree.

you can put two people through the same schools and one comes out a berk and the other a genius - ultimately wits are something God grants in any case. i'm partly just being a smart-alek and partly pushing 'knowledge of God' as a better definition to sue for 'theology' than using the word to mean something like 'mere teachings of men' :)

Its also posible that having wisdom as a gift caused Him to lose sight of the Giver of wisdom and relying on the gift: there is no mention of Solomon repenring of idolizing forein woman.
well, there is more than one proverb about 'better to live on the corner of a rooftop' etc.
he was no dummy, even if having wisdom doesn't mean you never make mistakes.

if thinking you have nothing more to learn is bad, how much worse to know you do, and not even care? :(
